"This enormous old house in a delightful Portland neighborhood was a delight. (EXPEDIA was NOT a delight, however, because it failed to send me the key code I needed to get into the building. The on-site staff person told me my experience was typical.) Lots of fun restaurants (and Trader Joe) nearby, easy public transportation to downtown for people who don't walk."

"My experience was so mixed. The hotel was finished nicely and in an area that was convenient for me. The bed was comfortable and the room was what I needed it to be. It was nice, but there was no place to put any clothes except 5 hangers in the closet and the night stand drawer. My issue was the unevenness of the staff and pretty dysfunctional operations apparently behind the scenes. My fire alarm battery died in the middle of the night and the guy at the front desk said I'd have to wait until...

"The place is well-located near the top areas to visit in the city. The room is clean, tidy, and equipped with everything you might need during your stay. Our only concern is that there is no ventilation in the bathroom."

"We regularly stay at the Woodlark for the location. It’s expensive so we keep a lookout for when their rates are lower than their typical price. The beds are super comfortable. The soap and lotions are divine. It’s downtown in a safe area. It’s easy to access other parts of Portland by car from here. We self park at a relatively near parking garage on 10th which is much cheaper than the valet service."

"I enjoyed our stay. Loved the room. The fireplace was a nice touch. My only complaint if I can really call it that, is the resort fee. What “amenities” warrant an extra charge? According to the website, a comfy bed, a virtual concierge and a spiritual library. I mean I guess I could have asked for a Bagavad Gita to be brought to my room at midnight but in my mind, resort fees mean there is a sauna or hot tub. Maybe a game room? Just charge $35 more and cut it with the disingenuous fee. Lovely...

"I had stayed at the the Clyde several times when it was the ace hotel and it was an excellent stay, fun and funky and the place had life to it. The is my first time back in awhile and it has become the Clyde and under new management. The staff are excellent and kind and helpful, but that’s where it ends for me. The place is worn Piet and run down and has no life to it. Bare bones basics. If you’re looking for it to feel like the old ace hotel…. Look somewhere else."
