Hadde bestilt et enkeltrom med utsikt mot byen, fikk et dobbeltrom med utsikt mot en blokk hvor det forbigikk oppussing og trafikkert gate. Veldig lytt ut hvor det var mye støy pga oppussing av blokka. Også veldig lytt mellom rommene. Klarte ikke å finne noen norske kanaler på tv. Møtte ingen norsktalende betjening.

Sentralt og praktisk. Nøkkelappen til rommet var irriterende, måtte trykke åpne 1-3 ganger for å få opp døra. Rommet var desverre ikke rent. Da spesielt badet.

We had booked to stay at the Grand hotel for three nights at the start of our vacation and one night at the end of our vacation before flying home. The day before we were scheduled to fly to Oslo, the hotel canceled our booking. The first reason we were given was that the weather was bad. I questioned this because I checked the weather and it was forecast to be nice. Then we were told that they canceled the booking because of the Kings Funeral. It seems they were canceling bookings to give rooms to more important people visiting for the funeral. I can understand this, but there was no assistance in helping find alternative accommodation, or compensation. We ended up paying $450 for a lower quality hotel. When we did stay at the hotel for one night before flying home, we were disappointed. The shower was not great, there was a bar crossing the shower head which impeded the water flow, the pillows were uncomfortable and the duvet was too small for the bed. We were woken in the middle of the night by a call from reception telling us an alarm was triggered from our room. They had me searching for a switch in the bathroom to turn it off. I couldnt find any switch and was then told not to worry and I didnt need to do anything. After that my wife and i were too wired and couldnt sleep. On check out, we were not asked how are stay was like most hotels ask. I can only assume it is because they tend to get negative responses. I would expect more professionalism from a 5 star hotel.
