Oyster Shack by the Bay / 4 minutes to Morehead City Waterfront/Big Rock Landing

This immaculate 2 bedroom, 1 & ½ bath cottage, including an enclosed double car garage, is located within minutes of downtown Morehead City’s waterfront and all the fun activities and restaurants it has to offer. The cottage can house 4 people comfortably, and I just recently replaced the couch with a sleeper sofa that can accommodate 2 additional guests. It is in a transitional neighborhood and within walking distance of the Calico Creek Boardwalk and Morehead City Waterfront where the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament and NC Seafood Festival are held each year. Many other water accesses are close by, including the Intracoastal Waterway and sandy beaches overlooking it. Historic Beaufort is 9 minutes away by car.

The cottage is equipped with a full kitchen, high speed internet, and 3 smart TVs. There is also a gas grill and all kinds of equipment to enjoy the beach or try your hand at catching fish or crabs. Bring your boat as there is parking space for 3 cars and a boat with trailer.
Well behaved dogs are welcome for an extra fee. There is a fenced in area for them at the cottage and there is also an off-leash City dog park close by.

The house was immaculate! The 15 yo boys loved the garage and all the fun things it had to offer. It was a great relaxing weekend. Owners really thought of everything you may need. The welcome bottle of wine was a great personal touch! Bathrooms included essentials like toothbrushes, q-tips and all the little things travelers typically forget!

We stayed for a week in the Oyster Shack and it was so lovely and inviting! Anything but a “Shack” Close to all the main attractions in the area. Harkers Island, Beaufort just to name a few. The beds were very comfy it was just a wonderful week! Thank you for letting us rent your “ Shack”

My husband traveled south from Maryland to begin to figure out the next chapter of our life together. Our VRBO was our head quarters for a few days. We chose well. Our was inviting and well equipped. We felt at home the moment we walked in. Our dog was a fan as well!

Attention to detail was amazing. Loved our brief stay. Wish we could've stayed longer. Will be back!! From the moment we walked in I was amazed. The home looked and smelled fresh and clean. Ms. Patty really thought of everything. Kitchen stocked wonderfully. Beds and furniture was so comfortable. Our pooch was completely pampered with the dog toys, and abundance of beds. Everyone we met was so nice.

We stayed for New Year’s Eve and Day and ended up extending our stay because the home and Host are both extraordinary. We could not have asked for a better experience. We were welcomed as a family of 4 (2 couples) and our fur babies too. All of us were greeted with a fully stocked home, everything you could need or dream of is waiting for you and the decor is so charming and the beds are a DREAM!, you will sleep like babies. It’s a super clean home, smelled heavenly. The location was perfect for us, so close to Morehead’s waterfront and restaurants. And so close to the bridge to Atlantic Beach as well. The view of the water from the living room is beautiful too ! We were not expecting that. The neighborhood is super quiet and peaceful. Some older homes are on this street as well as newer ones, very few were occupied when we were there. We felt thankful and fortunate to have found this wonderful home to end 2024 and begin 2025. THE kindest host/homeowner you will ever have the true blessing of interacting with. She was always just a message away if we had any questions and always had quick and warm reply. You will only need to bring your toothbrush and clothes at this home.It has the most well stocked kitchen and pantry and fridge we’ve ever encountered. And the bathrooms have an abundance of towels and toiletries. She even had a case of bottled water in the fridge for us and 6 rolls of extra paper towels and brand new dog food, new dog toys and treats! We felt spoiled!

This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had with a VRBO rental. The house was exactly as described, well stocked and cared for. Way too many extras to list! The cornhole and darts were a much appreciated surprise. Pamela was quick to respond and we felt right at home. Great location and view and I loved that she provided so many amenities even for my dog! We will absolutely be back!

We had a wonderful overnight stay at “Oyster Shack By The Bay”, and only wish it could have been a longer stay! The house was amazing! Pamela is an exceptionally wonderful host, she is a diligent communicator and makes her guests feel right a home with her above and beyond attention to detail and anticipating her guests every need for a special getaway. We had such a fabulous vacation at this sweet beach house. It had everything we needed and more! We were greeted with friendly, airy beach decor and so many tasty little snacks! Thank you so much for the Anniversary treat! This was a memorable 11th anniversary for us and we were so grateful to spend it with our two pups. They loved all of the toys and dog beds. What a gracious host! Hope to be back soon!

We came up to Morehead City to enjoy the NC Seafood Festival and really enjoyed our stay here. The home has a great view, the home is clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. We had everything we could need and were close to the downtown and a nice coffee shop- The Mug Shot. We highly recommend staying here!!
