Trulli Sant'Oronzo – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Puglia

Tucked away among centuries-old olive trees and traditional dry-stone walls, Trulli Sant'Oronzo offers a peaceful, private escape in the rolling countryside of Puglia. This beautifully restored 200-year-old trulli combines historic charm with modern comfort—an ideal base for a relaxing holiday just minutes from the sandy beaches of the Adriatic and the iconic towns of Alberobello, Ostuni, and Monopoli.

The property features two independent and tastefully decorated units:
- The Main Trulli includes a spacious double living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and two air-conditioned double bedrooms. The bedrooms are interconnected (linked by an interior door), with one offering an en-suite bathroom. A second full bathroom is also available.

- The Guest House, located just across the courtyard, features a double bed, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning—ideal for couples, older children, or friends wanting a bit of extra privacy.

Outdoor spaces are a highlight of the property: the private 4x8m swimming pool has a shallow end perfect for children and is surrounded by a lawn. A shaded dining and lounge area offers comfortable seating, with a built-in BBQ, ample sofas, and a hot outdoor shower—perfect for long, lazy afternoons and al fresco dinners. There’s also a spacious rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying an aperitivo, or stargazing in the evening.

A wonderful base for exploring the many interesting small towns and coastline nearby, Piero gave us lots of information ahead of our arrival and even though we arrived in the dark the directions and check in process were very clear which made everything straightforward. Set within ancient olive groves with dry stone wall edged lanes leading to the Trulli, tractors rumble by and the fields are full of potatoes, rocket and parsley growing, we felt like locals - using the wonderful Spiga d’Oro bakery/deli nearby and spent late afternoons and evenings visiting Ostuni, Monopoli, Alberobello, Polignano di Mare and a worthwhile day trip to Matera which was an hour and a half’s drive away. You need a car but the Trulli is tucked away on farmland so you feel nice and remote from roads. Spotlessly clean with wonderful private pool. Highly recommended.

Unique air-conditioned house (Trulli) and beautiful private property with fruit trees, a great pool and covered outdoor dining/cooking space. There is also a roof top patio with views of the surrounding area and landscape of olive trees. Beaches, historic towns, shopping just a short drive away. We loved it.

A fabulous Trulli experience!

We spent a wonderful week at the beautiful Trulli Sant Oronzo. We had an incredibly warm welcome from Piero and Silvana, who were so helpful in recommending things to do in the local area and the history of the trulli. Nothing was too big an ask and they clearly wanted us to have the best experience- which we did!The trulli itself was absolutely stunning! Immaculately and stylishly decorated, and incredibly clean. It was equipped with everything we needed as a family of 4. Our teenage daughter loved having her own annexe, and the 3 bathrooms were a massive bonus!The outside area was spacious with plenty of areas to relax, eat and drink. We loved spending days around the pool, and evenings watching the sun set on the roof terrace. There were plenty of great beaches nearby, and many of the beautiful Puglian towns to explore were a short drive away. We just wish we’d had more time, so we will definitely be back. It was “trulli” perfect!!

We had a wonderful week at this gorgeous property. The Trulli is a joy to stay in and we loved the outdoor space with the pool where we sat and ate dinner and played cards in the evening. It is well maintained and secure. It’s very close to great beaches, and picturesque town and villages. The host was very welcoming and made our check-in and check out very easy. A very nice place and would highly recommend a stay at this amazing Trulli, surrounded by olive trees on the countryside in PugliaHad everything you need for a great vacation:- Very clean house, garden and pool- Well equipped kitchen both indoors and outdoors.- Parkingspot- Pool with sunbeds and chairs-Big outdoor area with sofas and dining table in the shadeA car is a must to be able to fully enjoy Puglia from this location and this place was perfect for us, a family of four, as a base for exploring Puglia. Perfect distance for day/evening trips to nearby cities such as Ostuni, Monopoli, Bari, Alberello, Matera, as well as many nice beaches. The communication with the owner was very easy and they where super helpful during our entire stay

Perfect trullo in Valle D’Itria

Our stay was nothing less than perfection. The homeowner was very communicative and gave excellent suggestions. The home and pool were exactly as hoped for (dreamed of). Everything was spotless, inside and out. We even had a visit from the owner’s father who explained all the house details to us. We did not want to leave.

Feeling home in a quiet and beautiful environment

Together with my husband, our daughter and our best friend we enjoyed a very relaxing week at the trulli. It is well equipped, the air conditioning is fully appreciated in the bedrooms in warm August days. The barbecue is in very good condition, which is not always the case when you rent a holiday house. We spent a lot of time in the covered outdoor area for meals, siesta... The private swimming pool is a real plus. Generally we got a great sense of privacy, also the car can be parked inside the property area, and you absolutely need a car (or any other vehicle). The location is great to discover this nice part of Puglia with so many lovely little towns and incredible food. Piero and his father are great hosts. The communication with them is very smooth, the booklet with recommendations has been really useful. I will not repeat all the good advice and comments written in previous reviews, all is true and meeting expectations.

Magnifique trulli

Une semaine entre amis dans ce magnifique trulli , fidèle à l annonce . Idéalement situé au milieu des oliviers pour la découverte des Pouilles Propriétaires très sympathiques et disponibles. Très bons conseils pour les visites, restaurants…et l assistance en cas de problème (problème de clés) Piscine et cuisine d été exceptionnelles, maison très bien équipée et très propre. Parfait pour des vacances entre amis (3 couples)

Wonderful week in a really magical property.

We have just enjoyed the most wonderful week in beautiful Puglia. The trulli is a really special and unique place to stay and has been decorated really stylishly and has everything you need including the all important air-con in the bedrooms. The pool and outdoor kitchen are fabulous and we enjoyed a few bbqs over the week. The separate annex was also wonderful for our eldest daughter who loved her stylish boutique bedroom and her independence. On a personal note we had a puncture driving from the airport (nothing to do with the Trulli, we were half an hour away) and woke up on the first morning without any food or car. Piero helped us find a taxi to get a replacement car, and his father also very kindly delivered delicious, still warm from the oven foccaccia for our breakfast. We are very grateful to you both, so thank you for the wonderfully attentive service. I can't recommend this Trulli highly enough and we can't wait to return! Book it - you will have a wonderful week!

Trulli a great experience

We just completed our trip and this was definitely the highlight. Located close to the highway and several towns all worth visiting. The property was fantastic, private and very safe. Nestled amongst 700 year old olive trees and views of the surrounding hillsides. An idyllic setting. Lots of places to sit and relax weather onthe chairs by the pool or in the covered patio. In spite of the heat of you keep windows and doors closed during the day you don’t need the AC. We didn’t need it at all. If you like day trips you can go to Fasano, Monopoli, Ostuni, Polignano di Mare, Alberrobello and so many others. These historic towns are all walkable. Nice beach within 10 minutes in Monopoli where the swimming was fantastic. Our entire family had an amazing time here and the hosts were fantastic and easy to reach and a short distance away. We would love to come back and hope that we can some day. Highly recommended!! 5/5

Fantastic place to be!

The trullo and the garden and swimmingpool were very nice! Everything was available. Bbq. And a kitchen outdoor available including a fridge. More places to stay in shade but also in the sun. Fantastic view from the rooftop. You can see the ocean. And in the middle of olive trees. In short. Two weeks were too short.

Perfekter Trulli-Urlaub

Das sehr großzügige Trulli ist liebevoll renoviert ohne jedoch seinen traditionellen Charme zu verlieren. Der Pool ist fantastisch und die Lounge mit Outdoorküche lässt keine Wünsche offen. Neben dem eigentlichen Trulli gibt es ein weiteres freistehendes Haus mit Schlafzimmer und Bad für 2 Personen. Für Familien perfekt. Das Grundstück ist groß mit über 600 Jahre alten Olivenbäumen! Hier gelingt eine ausgezeichnete Symbiose zwischen Tradition und Moderne. Ausstattung und Sauberkeit einwandfrei. Die Betreuung vor Ort war sehr einfach und unkompliziert. Stets erreichbar. Man fühlt sich sofort sehr willkommen und zuhause. Es werden umfangreiche Informationen zum Trulli und Umgebung übermittelt, die einem das Zurechtkommen in der Region stark vereinfachen. Es gibt Tips für das Einkaufen, Restaurants, Strände, Ausflüge und die typischen regionalen Produkte. Man könnte auch die gesamte Zeit im Ferienhaus verbringen, allerdings würde man dann das fantastische Apulien verpassen. Vielen Dank an Piero, der uns wunderbar betreut hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Marvellous place

We enjoyed very much our stay in the Trulli Sant’Oronzo, where we felt at home immediately. We were warmly welcomed just like friends and found everything we needed in that comfortable and very tastefully furnished house. An extensive booklet gave us many well-appreciated recommendations regarding beaches, places to eat and sightseeing. What better place to spend our holiday at than in the middle of an olive grove! Silvery leaves and reddish soil as far as the eye can reach, traditional masserias nearby, traditional architecture and an almost blinding sunlight. The place is truly picturesque. The Trulli were perfectly clean and very welcoming and we instantly felt at home. Because of the extreme heat, we spent a lot of time in or around the swimming pool and enjoyed the pleasant refreshment. The kids had so much fun that they almost forgot their mobile phones and screens ;-) We particularly enjoyed Martina Franca, Ostuni and Monopoli for their picturesque historical centers and for the marvelous baroque churches. Altogether we feel grateful of having had the opportunity to stay in that marvellous place!

Our perfect Trulli experience

We have just returned from Trulli Sant Oronzo. What a wonderful find! We fell in love with the Trulli the minute we arrived. We were met by the lovely host Piero, who made us feel very welcome. He is very knowlegeable about the best places to visit and gave us a bit of history about the Trulli. It was stunning, simply,but tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The outside area is where we spend most days and evenings, eating and drinking by the pool. It is a fantastic location to be based at to see most of Puglia. We planned to do so much, but once we were there, we really didnt want to leave, it is just such a peaceful sanctuary. We did visit Matera, Wow! this is a must and also Ostuni. About a 5 minute drive is an amazing bakery that serves food ftom 7am to 11am. Its called Spiga d' Oro. You wil not get a better choice of food anywhere else. Once you go, you will keep going back. Beautiful beaches a 10 minute drive from the Trulli. I love the beach, but i loved staying in the Trulli and swimming in the pool even more. It was our perfect Trulli experience. I would definitely recommend a stay here. We gave 5 stars for our experience. It was magical. Thank you Piero

Olive Orchard

The house was set in a very beautiful country setting. Surrounded by olive trees and yet very close to the major highway. There are so many lovely towns and beaches to see in the area. The trulli house was very comfortable with a truly different experience. Evenings are filled with a star filled sky!
