  • Our apartment in Pomena comfortably fits up to three persons.The spaceOur family owned house is situated in a lovely and peaceful village Pomena on the island of Mljet which is the eighth largest and greeniest Croatian island. It is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, dry summers and mild winters and is one of the sunniest Adriatic islands.House is situated just 50 m from the sea and 300m from lakes.Ancient Greek poet Homer writes about this island in Odysee, and how he had sailed in this region. Apostle Paul mentions this island on his voyage through Adriatic and visits the island on his way to Rome. Just as the destiny brought many visitors to this island throughout centuries, today’s visitors are coming to experience stillness of Mljet.Apartment, 30sqm big, offers cozy bedroom with duble bed and exit on private, furnished balcony, fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom with shower. Kitchenette provides fridge, coffee maker, microwave, stove and kitchen utensils. Balcony offers great sea view and view on village.     Mljet is the southernmost and easternmost of the larger Adriatic Islands of Dalmatia. It is the greenest Island with Mediterranean vegetation, a clear and clean sea, and a gentle sandy shoreline. National Park spreads on the western side of the Island (for over 54km2) and offers shady walking or cycling tracks, ancient ruins, and saltwater lakes. Entrances to NP Mljet is in Polače and Pomena.The main places are Pomena, Polače, and Sobra and in those places, you may find supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, travel agencies, souvenir shops, etc...Island is regularly connected with Dubrovnik with a ferry from Dubrovnik or Korčula as well as a car ferry connection with Pelješac Peninsula on the Croatian mainland.Being located just over 15 minutes walk to Malo Jezero (Small Lake) of Mljet National Park, the village is the main entry point to the Park. Nowadays it has its hotel, a couple of restaurants and coffee bars, grocery and souvenir shops, agencies etc… As a bay, is a very safe place for anchorage, being sheltered by a tiny island of Pomestak, which acts as a local naturist beach too.Pomena is also a port where one will arrive if you take a day trip to Mljet by fast ferry from Korcula, Hvar, Split, Brac, or Dubrovnik.

Major-league holiday!

Best place to stay in Pomena. Beautiful water view from terrace. Literally next to nature preserve office and entrance, very convenient. Close to all restaurants. Extremely responsive and helpful host with great local knowledge. One thing to note is there is a good amount of stairs to the space but is necessary to get the great view. If you have mobility issues it may prove difficult to access.

Super séjour dans l’appartement. La localisation est très bien ainsi que la propreté du logement. Très calme, notre hôte était très gentil et très aidant, nous avons bien profité du lieu grâce à eux, merci encore ! Seul petit bémol mais très important vis-à-vis du reste c’est qu’il n’y avait pas toujours de l’eau très chaude (plutôt tiède).

Nous avons passé une nuit à Pomena et nous avons eu une hôtesse d'accueil très chouette nommée "Inka", qui a fait tout son possible pour nous trouver un taxi lorsque la compagnie de catamaran "Krilo" nous a annoncé qu'avec la météo, elle aborderait à Sobra. Merci pour l'accueil et le service, Inka!

Glorious residence!

L'hôte a été très accueillante et réactive. Le logement était très propre. Nous avons été ravie de goûter à la brioche de Pâques préparée par notre hôte :) Elle nous a donné quelques conseils très appréciés pour la visite du parc national (à 2 pas du logement!) Nous avons passé une charmante soirée sur la terrasse avec vue sur la mer et observation des étoiles. Nous recommandons sans hésiter !

Admirable and clean accommodation!

Le logement est superbe, à 4mn à pied du port de Pomena et à 1mn d’une des entrées du parc national. Restaurants à proximité. Plein de balades différentes sont accessibles depuis l’appartement. La vue depuis le balcon est vraiment magnifique !!! Très agréable. L’hôte a été très réactive par message. Je recommande !

pour profiter de la superbe terrasse de l'appartement, il faut monter quelques marches.. mais ça vaut vraiment le coup. ce dernier est juste à l'entrée du parc dans le joli port de pomena. il y a les restaurants, les bars et tout ce qu'il faut pour profiter de mljet et son magnifique parc. accueil avec plein de conseils. j'ai passé un merveilleux séjour.. j'espère pouvoir y revenir en logeant à la pension Matana. merci pour tout !

Amazing location within walking distance of the port/Pomena town and the national park. Beautiful view from the terrace. Inka was super helpful and gave great advice for activities and places to see around the national park.
