Escape to your very own snow-dusted retreat this winter! Nestled near the frozen beauty of Forest Lake-and just steps from the charming downtown area-our cozy getaway offers the perfect blend of adventure and convenience. Spend your days ice fishing on the lake, snowmobiling through nearby trails, or exploring the local shops, cafes, and restaurants just a short stroll away.

Located only 30 minutes from downtown Minneapolis or St Paul. We're also close to Taylor's Falls, Stillwater, and the many local wineries and breweries. Our well stocked cozy cottage will be the perfect place to settle in after a full day of activities!

Old. Could be cleaner. It’s not on the lake. There is a big grey house that actually owns the dock and the very narrow path to the lakeshore. No lake view. The fire pit is almost in the street which people park on. The grey house had company parked in the driveway of the vrbo so we had to park on the street. They knew we were there because they talked with us. They also have big dogs that bark at you and aren’t friendly!

A Forest Lake Retreat

We were attending a family wedding in Scandia, but also visiting with relatives in the Twin Cities. This charming Forest Lake cottage was the perfect escape from all of the activity. It had everything we needed for our stay. Its location near the lake was ideal for relaxing walks and exploring the local area. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and truly enjoyable. Sonja was a terrific host, making sure we had everything we needed and responding to questions right away. A special thanks to her (and her sister) for the impromptu TP delivery after we arrived!

Do it again in a heartbeat

This cabin was exactly as advertised. My Husband and I Booked this lovely cabin in Forest Lake for 1 month. To be close to family. In May my husband passed. So, this vacation turned into a funeral. The cabin was the perfect place to be. Sonja and Mike are so nice and made this month so special. I would do this again in a heartbeat. Daphne Winter Haven FL

Cozy!

Although it rained the whole weekend, we enjoyed our cozy stay so much! The hosts were attentive and available right away for questions, both before and during our stay. The kitchen is huge and the shower is great, plus plenty of fluffy towels (it's the little things!). We enjoyed the thoughtful little "extras" Sonja did for us.

False

What they are advertising does not match this place. There’s no pontoon, no fishing on the dock, and it’s not water front. There’s another structure before this cottage so you have to walk through someone else’s backyard to get to the water, which is littered with dog poop. Didn’t even stay there because of their false advertisement, and they still didn’t give me a refund.

Cozy Cottage

The cottage is a small, simple and pleasant stay. Was clean and smelled wonderfully so. The only suggestion would be the full size beds. I understand a queen would take over but it would be a benefit at least in the larger bedroom. My husband ended up sleeping on the floor our 2nd night. Overall, it was a great stay.

Wonderful location

A nice cottage style home on Forest Lake. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We rented this place for our wedding night as most of our guests stayed at nearby hotel. Perfect for a quick getaway from the cities. The lovely hosts left us a special gift for our wedding. Thank you for allowing us to stay here on such a special weekend.

Disappointed

The main issues were: 1) Multiple lack of cleanliness details.. Appeared to not have been cleaned or not cleaned thoroughly after last guests. 2) Had to kill two spiders in the house soon after arriving. Several gaps to exterior noticed. 3) Window air conditioner kept the living room cool- but not the bedrooms. 4) Damages apparent on wall, door and fridge. 5) We had to sleep separately as full-size beds aren't large enough for us. 6) Bathroom outlets are not working.

Cozy property, great location, great host!

The property is in a great location in Forest Lake, anything you need is walkable from the house and you can easily get down to the water right from the backyard! We stayed for the Chisago Lakes Triathlon and it was a quick 10-15min drive over to Paradise Park from the property. Sonja was great and very accommodating, and we will definitely be staying here again for our next little beach town getaway!

Summer vacation by the lake

Cottage was nice clean and well stocked with everything you need. The area was nice in walking distance of shops restaurant bar park and beach. Nice thing that was a plus is the cottage had a ramp which with my husband who has mobility issues and can't walk long distance help getting his power travel wheelchair inside to charge. Also we travel with foldable shower chair which is hit or miss at some places wheater it fit in the shower it worked out great. The host response to question was fast on response time. The only recommended changes which is very minor would be to clearly mark which dock belongs to the cottage and which outdoor chairs to use at the dock. Another idea would be shower head that can be movable with a hose. But these minor things would not stop us from returning. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.
