Beachfront Cottage on Ambajejus Lake With Sandy Beach and a Mountain View

  • We welcome you to enjoy our fully furnished 1 bedroom plus loft lakefront cottage located on Ambajejus Lake with a beautiful view of Jo Mary Mountain, just 10 miles away from Baxter State Park. Our cottage is situated steps away from the sandy beach. Take pleasure in a sandy bottom entry for wading or swimming and a great sunny beach for relaxing. Enjoy your meals on the covered deck, complete with gas grill, or at the picnic table on the beach. Our cottage also includes an equipped kitchen with stove/oven, full-sized refrigerator, toaster, microwave, crockpot and Keurig single serve coffee maker. The first floor bedroom includes a queen bed. The loft includes a double-sized bed. The living area offers a double-sized pull out couch with a beautiful lake view and a TV for watching the DVD player (a selection of DVDs is included). Sheets, pillows, bath towels and kitchen towels are all included. Guests should bring their own beach towels. There is a washer and dryer on site. Your well-behaved dog is always welcome! Guests should be aware there is limited cell phone services at the cabin. New for the 2024 season is the addition of free WiFi. Enjoy dining at the nearby Knife Edge Brewing, Big Moose Inn (Loose Moose Bar & Grille and Fredericka’s Restaurant) and River Driver’s Restaurant & Pub. The North Woods Trading Post is known for being the closest convenience store to Baxter Park and Katahdin and offers made-to-order sandwiches, gears of all kind, souvenirs, food and drinks. Less than 10 miles from the cottage, in Millinocket, guests can also enjoy dining at the Scootic In Restaurant or Sawmill Bar and Grill. There is also a grocery store with a pharmacy.

A lovely spot! The view right from inside the cabin and from the Adirondack chairs closer to the lake is beautiful. The cabin has a nice, slightly rustic feel but with modern appliances. The host has everything neat and tidy, with necessary supplies stocked up and easy to find. The whole place is neat and uncluttered. We enjoyed using the canoe provided to explore some of the islands in the lake. From out on the lake one gets views of Mt Katahdin.

Authentic clean Maine camp on beautiful lake.

We cherish access to clean natural places, and this camp provided a wonderful base to explore the Baxter area. Very much appreciate the owner's providing the rental opportunity. The cabin and its location exceeded our expectations.

A perfect spot to unwind, relax and enjoy the peaceful lake. After hiking in baxter all day..perfect cabin. Would stay here again if ever in the area. Cannot say enough about the views.

This is a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. The neighbors' views are blocked by trees. The view of the lake through the huge picture windows is amazing. We especially appreciated having a washer & dryer -- no trips to a laundromat! We swam & canoed and every question for the owner was answered promptly.

Cozy Cabin by the Lake

We so enjoyed our stay in this clean, cozy cabin on the lake. Heard the loons as we watched a spectacular sunset! Enjoyed delicious dining at River Drivers & Scootic In restaurants convenient to the cabin. Great local hiking!

Get off the grid if you choose and enjoy the best of Maine. Easy to get to stores, restaurants and Baxter State Park. The water and islands are beautiful and easy to access.

Perfect Lakefront Getaway in Maine

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this lakefront cabin. The location is unbeatable—right on the water with stunning sunsets every evening and just minutes from the Golden Road crossing, giving us easy access to all the outdoor adventure we were looking for.The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully appointed—everything we needed for a relaxing stay was right at our fingertips. My boys and our golden retriever had the time of their lives swimming, exploring, and just soaking up the peace and quiet of the Maine wilderness.This place truly felt like a home away from home, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit—planning to stay even longer next time!
