Sylvan Meadows Suite - Amazing Rural Views in the heart of Cowichan Valley

Our beautiful one bedroom suite accommodates 2 guests and is located centrally between the villages of Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake and Cobble Hill. Our property is set in the midst of a valley with working dairy farms, a winery and a cidery - each with their own restaurant, and both within a 15 minute stroll. Our corner of the Cowichan Valley abounds with recreational opportunities - great walking and hiking trails, kayak rentals, fishing charters, water-skiing, golf courses, tennis and pickleball, mountain biking and more! Close by is the seaside village of Cowichan Bay, and Duncan - home to a year-round Farmer's Market. Of course, the Cowichan Valley is famous for its many wineries, craft breweries and distilleries. The vibrant city of Victoria with all of its festivals, entertainments and events, is only a 45 minute drive away.

Enjoy your spacious deck with a breathtaking view of rolling fields and hills to the west, so you capture the gorgeous sunsets as you relax in the evening. Enter through your private entrance into an open, dining, living and kitchen area well-lit by large skylights, situated to enjoy the sunrise with your morning coffee. The living room is equipped with a SmartTV with both Netflix and Prime, Super Fast Internet, books and games. A ductless heat pump offers both air conditioning and heat for your comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and everything you may need for your cooking enjoyment - including your apron! The pantry is stocked for your convenience with complimentary coffee and teas, herbs, sauces, dressings and condiments. The bedroom Queen mattress is a Kingsdown pillowtop for the ultimate sleep - aided y blackout curtains. The bathroom boasts an extra large 6' soaker tub and shower unit. A washer and dryer for your own use is tucked into a corner of the bathroom. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are included for your use.

If it’s available book here your stay will be refreshing. The privacy and the serene vista out of the windows capturing sunrises and sunsets over the grassy meadows is soul food.The layout of this suite is well appointed placing the bedroom on the back away from the road/driveway.Even a rainy afternoon was refreshing from the covered deck. Never heard any noise from the main house. Only birds, and distant cows.A rare gem nestled well between the mid island communities near enough to make easy day trips yet far enough away for a quiet retreat. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom is spa sized. Overall this rental is a rare find … enjoy!

Never enjoyed washing dishes as much… (there is a dishwasher if you’d prefer)
First ever patio sunset perfect after a long travel day (paired nicely with a bev in hand)

Lovely Clean Well Equipped Condo

Beautiful well equipped condo in a quiet pastoral setting. Sadly, missed the Elk. Would definitely recommend the place to anyone wanting accommodation in the Mill Bay area.

A beautiful serene location ...

I have stayed at many 'retreats/getaways' and Sylvan Meadows was one of the best. The suite was spotless and very well equipped. The area is a beautiful pastoral valley and serene and quiet. Holly was a pleasure and the extras made my visit a special one. Highly recommended!

Excellent place to stay

This was a great location close to Mill Bay. The apartment is well equipped with everything to ensure a comfortable stay. We slept very well and it was lovely to hear owls hooting during the night. Great to wake up to a beautiful view over the meadows.

Clean and comfortable

We wanted a quiet, peaceful place as a base for day trips. This place was perfect. And after going places during the day we relaxed with dinner at.the Cidery and wineries close by. Dinner and snack suggestions by Holly were spot on. Loved the place and highly recommend.

A peaceful stay

Great location and excellent amenities

Our family of 4 stayed here for a week over Christmas. The unit is in a great location for exploring the cowichan valley (hikes, wineries, etc). The unit was super clean and had great amenities. The bedroom was very comfortable. The living room has a hide a bed. We planned for our kids to sleep in the bedroom since they go to bed earlier. The hide a bed was memory foam so I found it was fine but my husband who is larger did not like it. Something to consider. If you just need the bedroom, the bed is super comfy. Otherwise it was a perfect stay.

Island Gem

What a delightful place! Everything we needed was here, the suite is so beautifully appointed, designed and spotless! The bed is very comfortable! We had everything we needed and more! We definitely recommend this place! ***** stars! We came to visit family for Thanksgiving and explore the area a bit, great having our own space to come back to. Wonderful view out back and we appreciated the heads up for the Elk in the field, very cool! Loved having the fire pit! So much to do in the area! We walked the Malahat skywalk, incredible views from up there! Golfed a couple rounds at Arbutus Ridge. Wineries( loved being steps away from Unsworth Vineyards) hikes, great restaurants, many of your recommendations, We would definitely stay here again!

Wildfires resulted in us cancelling our Tofino plans and making last minute booking changes to Sylvan Meadows. This was one of the best short term rentals we have stayed at (couple and a 1 year old). The place was super clean, newly renovated, well thought out and has everything you need to be comfortable. Holly went above and beyond with our check in and had lots of great suggestions for family friendly activities. We would stay here again the next time we visit the island.

Great comfortable little spot!

Holly’s place was very clean, well organized and fully stocked with everything our little family needed. Bed was comfy, bathroom was spacious, and everything else was new and well maintained. Holly also communicated to us often and clearly before our arrival with everything we needed to know for checking in and out.
