Charming little cottage in beautiful peaceful countryside setting

The Gite is one of 3 properties in this location (see also The Farmhouse and The Grange).
This stone built former cowshed is situated in a very tranquil part of rural Brittany, yet within convenient access to medieval Dinan (10 minutes) and a leisurely 30 minutes country drive from many excellent beaches on the north Brittany coast (Cote d'Armor). It stands in well maintained grounds of 1.2 hectares / 4 acres and looks down across rich farmland and wooded countryside.
You can safely walk, ride bicycles around the small local roads and marked trails directly from the property, with plenty of scenic variety, from corn and wheat crops to pasture and wooded/forest areas.

There is table tennis table and a spacious lawned areas to the front and side of the property for games of football, badminton etc. A BBQ area is provided in the courtyard for outdoor eating and to enjoy the afternoon or evening sunset.

Beaches & things to do: There is a great variety of things to do in the area without having to spend hours in the car. Within 45 minutes drive there are countless beaches to choose from such as le Val-Andre, Erquy, Sables d’Or, St Cast-le-Guildo, St Jacut-sur-Mer, St Briac, St Lunaire and Dinard to name a few. Coastal walks and spectacular coastal scenery is a feature of this region. Coastal walks including Cap Frehel, from St Pabu (park on Plage de Caroual) to Erquy or west to le Val-Andre are also recommended. Le Mont St. Michel is also a worthwhile day trip being one hour away. The route back via the 'shellfish coast' from Cherrueix to Concale and the superb beaches and coastal walks from Concale to St.Malo make for a memorable journey.

Mediaeval Dinan (10 minutes) is a wonderful place to visit, market day is Thursday. The cathedral city of Rennes and the direct TGV link to Paris is also within an hour’s drive. Within 2 hours drive the tapestries of Bayeux (near Caen) and the war cemeteries of Normandy (Omaha beach) and World War II museums are also worth considering.

Closer to home there is horse-riding in Plelan-le-Petit, golf in St Michel de Plelan, swimming, sailing, cycling and pedaloes at Jugon-les-Lacs (10 mins), go karting at Lamballe, a lovely aquarium at St Malo (also walk the ramparts).

Urlaub mit Hund

Alles war wie beschrieben. Check in und Check out war unkompliziert. Das Häuschen hatte eine super Lage um bekannte Spots in der Nähe zu besuchen. Drumherum war es allerdings leider mit Hund nur möglich, die Straße lang zu spazieren, ansonsten konnte man aber auch gut das Grundstück mit großer Wiese nutzen. Ich fand es sehr toll, dass im Haus eine Liste mit Telefonnummern von Ärzten und vor allem auch von Tierärzten in der Nähe lag, falls mal etwas sein sollte. Wichtig ist noch zu wissen, dass man sich das Grundstück mit einem großen Farmhouse teilt, welches direkt gegenüber steht. So kann es sein, dass 3 Familien gleichzeitig dort Urlaub machen, jeder hat aber seinen persönlichen Bereich. Man sollte sich zudem darauf einstellen, das Telefon oder den Laptop mal beiseite zu legen, denn das Internet ist sehr schwankend, was für uns kein Problem war, da wir uns drauf eingestellt hatten eventuell kein WLAN zu haben. Dafür war dann mehr Zeit zum genießen und Bücher lesen. Wenn man den ganzen Tag unterwegs ist, sollte das auch kein Thema sein. Ansonsten war auch alles was man brauchte in der Nähe, Supermarkt, Restaurants usw. Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Urlaub mit Hund und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Gîte très tranquille, voir trop tranquille, un peu humide et retirer des endroits sympa il faut en moyenne faire 30 km minimum pour trouver la mer avec un réseau routier de campagne et manque énormément de télévision car le réseau Wi-Fi est médiocre, accueil sympathique

Sehr einfache urige Unterkunft in herrlicher Landschaft.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr klein und eng. Sie bietet minimalen Komfort. Kommt man damit klar, ist dieses alte bretonische Häuschen irgendwie liebenswert. Vor allem liegt es inmitten einer absolut ruhigen und aüßerst reizvollen Landschaft. Unsere Mahlzeiten haben wir allesamt vor dem Häuschen eingenommen, wo ein rustikaler Tisch in schöner Umgebung steht. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter, Nigel, war von sehr freundlichem, hilfsbereitem und unkompliziertem Charakter..

Au calme

Situation au calme, cependant le matériel de cuisine est très basique.... pas assez de casseroles, une seule poêle disponible, c'est un peu juste... l'éclairage extérieur n'est pas assez puissant... donc très difficile de dîner le soir... Concernant le site, il y a trois gîtes... Quand on consulte le site on croit être seul.... ce qui n'est pas le cas..

Wir waren zufrieden und haben uns wohl gefühlt. Allerdings ging aus der Internetvorstellung des Objektes nicht hervor, dass man das Grundstück mit drei Häusern teilen muss und diese nicht durch einen Zaun voreinander getrennt sind. Dies erfährt man erst nach der Buchung. Umgebung ist super

Jolie maison dans un cadre agréable

La maison est charmante, mais elle est très humide, ayant séjourné quelques jours en mai, il aurait été appréciable d'avoir des buches de bois à proximité. La propreté des lieux a été apprécié, le wifi fonctionne très bien. Les chemins de randonnées sont nombreuses et permettent de profiter pleinement du calme. Un gite que je recommande.

Kleine Oase der Ruhe

Wir haben uns in dem Häuschen sehr Wohlgefühl. Es ist sehr ruhig in Péhé. Genau was wir gesucht hatten. Unser Windhund konnte sich den ganzen Tag ohne Leine Auf dem Grundstück bewegen, was toll war. Auf den Straßen fährt kaum ein Auto und selbst mit dem Nachbarshund hat sich unser Hund angefreundet. Das Haus selbst ist mini und für zwei Personen ausreichend. Es ist einfach eingerichtet hat aber alles was man braucht. Ein swimming pool wäre noch toll, da man doch min 40 min zum Meer fährt. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit

Disappointing and not recommendable

Oh well... After a long and strenuous journey, nobody was there to welcome us. The door was not locked, just a bottle of wine, cookies and a message on the table. Then we realized, that our prevoius tenants obviously had a dog with them and the houskeeping before our arrival was very poor. Dog hair everywhere. Then we wanted to prepare dinner. Crockery and cutlery felt greasy and was partly rusty. So we enjoyed our arrival with vacuum-cleaning and dish washing. The house itself needs renovation. There was black mildew around the kitchen sink and in the shower. The furniture is old and outworn. Spiderwebs and dead flies in every window. As we told this our host and we're asking for a solution, there was just a simple excuse. Sorry, but to our opinion this is not the way to treat guests.

Die Lage des Objekts wurde als "rural" beschrieben. Das ist keine Untertreibung. Uns haben die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sehr gefallen. Für zwei Erwachsene ideal.

Gîte mitoyen

Bonjour. Petit gîte parfait et joli, avec une belle campagne autour. Cependant, dommage que le propriétaire ne précise pas que le gîte est situé en vis à vis avec une grande bâtisse tout en longueur qui sont aussi des gîtes. Sur l'annonce c'est un peu trompeur par les belles photos de campagne où l'on pense être isolé. Ce qui a été mon cas, je pensais louer un endroit sans personne autour. Sinon il y a une grande liberté pour arriver et repartir.

Das Haus ist einfach, bietet das Nötigste. Wer großen Komfort erwartet ist sicherlich falsch. Wer die Idylle und Ruhe genießen möchte, kommt hierher.

Really quiet and rural setting.Small and traditional.

It was a traditional french cottage and was a little basic and lighting was a bit poor at night. But as the weather was good we were outside a lot with the dog and the garden is great. Everything worked in the house but internet reception is quite poor unless you go to the garage.Had not realised we would be opposite other guests in a bigger place but that was no problem and made it interesting. Bed was comfortable and water hot in the shower. Couple of lovely pretty villages nearby one for shopping and one with a brilliant lake for walking around. There is a sports centre and swimming pool there attached to a campsite which offers a number of things to do and see. All round we had a great week.

Avons passé un super séjour, recrête de pas avoir pris quinze jour, qu'en a la location dans un calme super reposant, même si on est à 20 minute de la mer, a refaire. Quelque imperfection, mais tous ne peut pas être parfait, je le reprendrez quand même et de plus pour les animaux il y a un très grand terrain le top et très propre, ne regrette pas d'être passé par ce site, très content à refaire.
