"Nice restored mansion with small, but comgortable rooms. Private bathroom & tub/shower combo, with small frig/freezer and coffee maker. A plus was the pot-belly gas stove for warming on cool Duluth mornings & evenings. Overall, very comfortable. Brule Retreat room was up one flight of stairs."

"We arrived later at night and the front counter staff person was very welcoming and friendly. The spaces and room were clean and stocked. We were asked by house keeping, while passing in the hall, if we needed a restock on anything as they don’t usually stock daily. Everyone was very kind and the location was near the lake with options for eating nearby. We will be back. "

"Very Nice Space. We parked 1/2 block away at Muffler Parking lot. Cool art and layout. Nespresso machine was good bonus. Very good value. "

"My friend and I stayed unexpectedly due to a power outage at our planned hotel. Staying at Fitger’s was the best decision we could’ve made! Checking in with Geoff was amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Our room was beautiful and we loved all the options for dinner and drinks. I’ll definitely be back (as a first choice hotel, not a backup plan!)"

"We have stayed once previously and were very happy with the accomodations both times. Breakfast was good with ample selection. Facitity was very clean and easy to get to. Very happy."

"We arrived to find a very disappointing room—the photos on Expedia did NOT match the actual room (photos were of a lake view suite with fireplace; the room we were in (for over $300) was a tiny full bed and bathroom overlooking the parking lot). The staff tried to make it right and got us into the pictured room the following night. Expedia, as usual, was no help at all. I’m kinda done with Expedia."

"We loved staying at this hotel with a room overlooking Lake Superior and with all the canal park had to offer. My husband was able to see a ship leave through the aerial vertical lift bridge on the canal. At the brewery next door, there were live cameras monitoring the port entrance, lighthouse and bridge. It was a great stay!"
