Wisp Resort is located in the north point of Deep Creek Lake in the famed resort town of McHenry, MD. Wisp Resort features two popular golf courses, Lodestone Golf Course and Fantasy Valley Golf Course as well as year round concerts and events. You can even get to Swallow Falls State Park from the community! (about 15 miles) Of course, Wisp is known for its amazing skiing and snowboarding slopes. Carefree Wisper is ideally located in the private enclave surrounded by trees, often visited by a family of deer and other animals.
Our resort prides itself on being accessible and welcoming to all guests. That's why there are no access restrictions when entering the resort. You can feel free to bring your own vehicle, as our paved parking lot can accommodate up to 6 vehicles. As you make your way into the resort community, you will encounter a paved hill that leads up to Wisp Mountain Road. This may seem daunting at first, especially during the winter months, but rest assured that it is manageable for all types of vehicles. While a 4-wheel drive may be ideal, it is not necessary.
We want all of our guests to have a smooth and stress-free arrival experience, so we have ensured that our roads are well-maintained and easily navigable. You can focus on enjoying the beautiful surroundings and all that our resort has to offer, without worrying about challenging roads or access restrictions.
Carefree Wisper is the ideal vacation destination for families and friends looking for a spacious and comfortable retreat. Our new construction cabin offers ample space for multiple families to have their own living quarters, ensuring privacy and convenience. With 6 bedrooms and 4 full baths, there is plenty of room for everyone.
The main level boasts two bedrooms, including the luxurious owner's en-suite with a private bath and king-sized bed. The second bedroom on this level features a cozy queen-sized bed and adjoins the full hall bath. Upstairs, you will find two more generously sized bedrooms, perfect for kids or couples traveling together. Bedroom #3 has two queen-sized beds and a pull-out sofa bed, while bedroom #4 overlooks the beautiful surrounding trees and has a king-sized bed. These bedrooms share a full bath located in the upper hallway.
The open concept living room, dining area, and gourmet kitchen provide a spacious and inviting gathering space for all guests. You can also step out onto the covered porch, where you can relax by the gas fireplace and enjoy the picturesque views of the hillside and backyard.
For even more entertainment options, head down to the basement where you will find a live edge wet bar, gas fireplace, gaming table (air hockey, pool table, ping pong combo), and two additional bedrooms (#5 and #6) with queen beds. There is also a full bath with a double vanity on this level. From the basement living room, you can access the covered hot tub and additional hangout area.

Most people tend to drive to get to their destinations as public transportations are far in between. During high seasons (summer and winter) some Uber and Lyft are available but not consistent.
