Entire Guest Suite in Haus Edelweiss on the Blue Ridge Parkway

  • Haus Edelweiss awaits you in the heart of Little Switzerland at over 3500’ of elevation! Situated directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway and less than one minute to all that Little Switzerland has to offer including: shopping, dining, (seasonal dates are April-October), and hiking to Grassy Creek Falls. Up to four guests enjoy a private entrance, own deck, kitchenette (range/oven, sink, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster), living area, queen-sized bed, pull-out couch, full bath, washer/dryer, flat screen smart tv, and wifi.

    The space: Guests will have over 600 square feet of living space and their own deck.

    Other things to note: Little Switzerland shops and dining are closed during the winter months of November-March, but the Blue Ridge Parkway remains open as long as there is no snow or ice. There are several nice towns nearby such as Marion, Spruce Pine, Bakersville, and Burnesville that have shops and dining year round.

    In the winter months be prepared for snow/ and or ice covered roads including our driveway. We cannot guarantee that the driveway will be cleared due to unpredictable weather and the lack of snow removal equipment. If there is a chance of snow/ ice, you will be required: to either drive a 4WD vehicle, have snow chains, or park below and walk up our steep 200 meter paved driveway. We will let you know of any impending hazardous weather when you book with us.

A Home Away From Home We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Edelweiss. It seemed like all our needs and wants were anticipated and when we needed something the owner was there in minutes to help us out. The apartment was clean and well provisioned. The view of the mountains was breathtaking. We are planning to staying here anytime we are visiting Little Switzerland.

My husband and I spent two nights in the Little Switzerland Guess House during the height of the fall color season. Our host was especially helpful, giving us information on the most scenic hikes and mountain views to take full advantage of the fall scenery. Absolutely lovely!

We (me, husband and 10 yr old) stayed for 3 days for my husband's birthday. This little rental was perfect! It was clean and welcoming. There were extra amenities like snacks, toiletries and other items we've normally always brought ourselves to rentals. You were within walking distance of 2 restaurant, a coffee shop/book store and a few other kitche shops. It was a great location to stay!

We needed a last minute booking as we were coming down to volunteer with hurricane relief and hadn't found lodging yet. Judith responded right away and allowed to us to book on juat a few hours notice. The guest house was cute and cozy, with so many extras (snacks, drinks, detergent, etc.). Even though the suite was attached to the owners house, it felt private and quiet. We had a great stay and would absolutley cone back!

A hidden gem

I was here to visit a few friends at the Little Switzerland Inn and needed to find a place to stay in and stumbled upon this hidden gem. The property is nestled on a hill, I have a very low car so I was very glad to have a paved road and my own space to park safely overnight. The suite was very spacious, had everything I needed to make a quick meal, and clean after myself. The view from the balcony was amazing as I watched the fog dissipate in the morning while having breakfast. It was very peaceful and quiet and I must have slept like a baby during the night. I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for letting me stay at your wonderful place.

Weekend mountain getaway

Wonderful stay at comfy cozy mountain home. You could hear the hosts a tiny bit but could tell they did all they could to give privacy and seclusion. It was very negligible and the place was so comfortable! Great bathroom, good cooking area, great view! The porch was wonderful and the light coming in the main windows in the mornings was delightful. All the little touches were there. We picked up extra wood and had a fire each night. The hosts had kindling and paper to start it. This was a really nice stay, we highly recommend it.

Little Switzerland fiasco. DID NOT SAY THERE!! Arrived at 2:45 PM - no one home and no directions on how to access property. Contacted Expedia using their virtual assistant explained the situation and after 30 minutes of back and forth texts referred me to an agent . The phone signal was weak but was able to first speak to Mustafa who set up a case number - 117168824. Unfortunately loss the signal and called back a second time and spoke to Jesus. At this point we had been waiting for over one hour outside the property with bugs all around us. This was suppose to be our 3 day stay to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Explained everything to Jesus and told him that we had been waiting over one hour and that we had ENOUGH. We decided to return home. He said he would try to contact the host and to give him a few more minutes - after another 10 minutes he came on the line and said no one picked up the phone. I this point we started driving home. We were in conversation with Jesus who stated that he would process a cancelation and full refund. He also offered us a free night stay for our troubles. I was hesitant as we had decided to head home but told him to try - at this point we received a text at 4:12 PM from the host providing us with access instructions to the properly. Her text stated that we should have received access instructions from VRBO two days ago and she does not know why they were not sent??? We texted her back that it was too late and heading home
