  • "Le petit Chabrou", gite for 5 people, is set in an authentic Charente farmhouse in the heart of the Pays d'Horte and Tardoire.
    This pleasant 3 * cottage offers all the comfort for a great relaxing holiday in the Charente.
    On one level, this accommodation consists of a dining room / lounge, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms (2 beds 140x190cm and 1 bed 90x190cm), a bathroom and separate wc.
    It offers all the household equipment (microwave, fridge / freezer, washing machine, dryer, 4 ceramic hobs, oven) and a relaxing equipment: TV (with canal +), DVD player, game console , a heated swimming pool (5x10m) and a petanque and 2 mountain bikes.
    You will appreciate the sweetness of life of the Charente countryside and after a day discovery of the territory, rich in history and traditions, you will enjoy a special moment around the pool.
    Pets are welcome.

Nous avons bcp apprécié le domaine très accueillant ;) malgré le temps !

Pas a été dérangé par les moteurs des automobiles quel plaisir ! Les propriétaires ont été très attentionnés ont été très sympathique :) a refaire très vite pourquoi en mai pour profiter de la jolie piscine ;)

Pictures do not do it justice! Simply AMAZING!

I have never been greeted with such a warm welcome and frankly, when booking this gite I never realised I would be leaving having gained 2 new friends in the owners Corinne & Xavier, but so pleased that we have! The pictures do not do the place justice as it is far more spectacular when you arrive, especially when the sun is out! The gite was spacious, clean and well thought out and the amenities were fantastic, sleeping 5 comfortably. we couldn’t have asked for any more! The pool area is stunning and the gardens and drive are beautifully planted with rose bushes and maintained grassed area’s for you to enjoy peacefully. Le Rochefoucauld is a short drive down the road and would recommend the restaurant Chez Steph, near Le Rochefoucauld Chateaux which is also well worth a visit. Angouleme was 1/2 hour drive with lots of shops and things to see. The only downfall with the Gite is that it has no local towns within walking distance, which makes for a fantastic relaxing and peaceful retreat, but limited on evening entertainment without driving. However, Corinne & Xavier we’re excellent hosts and totally made up for the distance to the local town on the evening! They even offered to have us to dinner and we regularly sat and drank with them on the evenings - although this was our choice, they are respectful of our space and not once did we feel they were imposing themselves on us. They also have 3 beautiful dogs who are adorable and well behaved. We especially fell in love with their little puppy ‘One’ who greeted us with a waggy little bum everytime we seen him! As HUGE dog lovers, this made our stay extra special! Do not worry though if you don’t like dogs, they are not in your personal space or garden so will not disturb you. This was also my parents (who are in their 70’s) 1st trip abroad. They were overwhelmed and thoroughly enjoyed every minute at the Gite and time spent with Corinne & Xavier too and some of their favourite memories will remain forever with their time spent with them. Due to terrible storms, the local town lost electricity for almost 24hours during our stay but we never once felt it was a problem as Corinne & Xavier ensured everything we needed was sorted and put us first before sorting themselves! I would HIGHLY recommend a stay at Le Petit Chabrou and look forward to returning again VERY soon. Thank you so much Corinne & Xavier you’re both amazing!!! Laura & Marc Xxxxx

Beautiful spacious property

We absolutely loved staying at the little Chabrou gite. It was fully fitted with everything you could possibly need for a holiday. The gite was so clean and well decorated, it had so much extra there were plenty of utensils, towels very well stocked. The hosts Corinne and Xavier were exceptional they made our stay so perfect. The grounds were superb with a stunning pool and sunbathing area. The garden surrounding the property were so pretty and well looked after. There was so much to do in the area we visited the chateau at La Rochefoucauld, and went souvenir shopping. We had a drinks in the local pub/restaurant in the the hamlet of Marrilac Le Franc and the staff were lovely too. We will definitely be returning. One of the best gites we have stayed in. When we left we felt that we had made friends and we absolutely adored their beautiful well behaved dogs! Linda and Dave Sutton.
