Rustic cozy peaceful escape in a safe and quiet neighborhood within 2 blocks from Mayo Hospital and Bethany College with a children's park, hockey rink and tennis courts just across the street. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds for an accommodation of 4 people and two full baths with one on the main floor and one upstairs with the bedrooms. This rustic gem has a lot of charm and character including slanted and squeaky floors and a claw foot tub in the upstairs bath. The warmth and coziness of this home will create a feeling of peacefulness that you will not want to leave. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit from spring to fall.

I like the house and had a nice stay. The pickelball courts across the street were busy the whole time, and the park lights were on as late as 11:30 p.m. one night. Some blackout curtains in the bedroom would be nice.

The Rustic Retreat was very quaint and a perfect fit for my wife and I, and our daughter and son-in-law. We were in town right after Christmas to visit our other daughter and family. In spite of a blizzard that came out of nowhere, we still enjoyed our stay.

An older home in need of some minor repairs (handrail, doorknobs), but clean and comfortable. Plenty of nice, large towels. Fine for a one-night stay, although it could use room-darkening window treatments to keep out light from the park nextdoor.

Over all the stay was great. Unfortunately we came back to no A/C which made our last evening and night pretty uncomfortable in a 80 degree house. We left early due to the A/c being out. Besides the A/c issue the house was cute, the host was accommodating and we enjoyed our stay.

Just right for our needs. Located half way between the main business district and downtown so it is easy to get everywhere. It is located in a quiet neighborhood next to a park so it is peaceful and relaxing.

We really loved our stay in Mankato. The house is lovely and well appointed The bed was very comfortable and each bathroom was nice. The lock codes worked as described and the alleyway access was well explained.The only aspect of the kitchen that we used was a few dishes and the coffee maker -- but perfect for us on this trip. We walked to downtown Mankato from the house. It was a nice walk of 20 minutes to the restaurant we wanted to eat at. The only thing that confused us about the house was the "shared pantry" and sodas/waters in the refrigerator. We did not find a description of charges for these items -- or were they free? We came supplied with a few snacks and beverages so it did not matter. We did not use the TV setup so I have no opinion.WiFi worked well and the password was given to us.
