Inside this two bedroom apartment, the air-conditioned living room connects directly to the terrace, so the seating area and the dining table both share the sea view. Outside, a retractable awning shades a round glass-topped table for long lunches, with a lounger for reading through the afternoon. The kitchen has granite-effect worktops and wooden cabinetry, with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. A private washing machine, an iron and an ironing board mean you can pack light and wash as you go. A Dutch-Belgian grocery at the entrance to the complex covers fresh bread and daily supplies, a private parking space saves looking for a spot, and a lift makes the trip back up from the pool easy.

The pool area is the centrepiece of the complex. Lawns and tall palms surround two pools with softly curved edges, one with a stepped entry and handrail for easing into the water. Padel courts nearby are there for a morning game before the day settles into swimming, reading and sea air. Ideal for families with little ones or a group of friends.

The marina at Puerto de la Duquesa, the Roman site of Manilva and the Castillo de la Duquesa are all within a 7-10 minutes by car, with Duquesa Golf at 5 minutes and Puerto de Sotogrande 11 minutes along the coast. For a restorative afternoon, the natural sulphur springs of Baños de la Hedionda are a 13-minute drive, where the perfect itinerary includes a hike around the area ending in a bath at the springs.

Further afield, Estepona\'s old town is 17 minutes away by car, Selwo Aventura 21 minutes and the hill village of Casares 25 minutes. The Gibraltar border and Puerto Banús are both about 27 minutes away, and Marbella\'s old town is 36 minutes. Gibraltar Airport is a 28-minute drive, Málaga Airport about an hour, and the San Roque-La Línea train station 21 minutes.
