  • Welcome to Sunstone Lodge #126, a beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom condo offering one of the best locations on Mammoth Mountain! Experience the ultimate ski-in, ski-out convenience, so close you can watch the skiers and snowboarders glide by on the slopes from your private balcony. Inside you'll find, new flooring throughout, and a cozy living room with a gas fireplace, large sectional sofa with sofa bed, flat-screen TV with DVD player, and direct access to the balcony where you can soak in the breathtaking mountain views. The dining area seats four comfortably and sits beside a fully equipped full kitchen featuring granite counters and modern appliances. You'll have everything you need to prepare a hearty family dinner after an action packed day on the slopes. The split floor plan offers added privacy with a suite on each end. The primary bedroom featuring a comfortable King bed, ample closet space, TV and en-suite bathroom with walk in shower and granite counters. The second bedroom also features a King bed, private closet and TV with access to the second shared hallway bathroom with tub/shower combo. As one of the few TRUE ski-in, ski-out lodges in Mammoth, Sunstone Lodge offers unparalleled access to the mountain and amazing amenities. Heated underground garage parking (garage clearance is 8' 2") for one vehicle, makes access stress free and simply with no shoveling required. In the building enjoy a fitness room, fireplace great gathering room, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi (year-round), and community BBQ grills (seasonal). There are no stairs to this unit, no stairs inside, and no smoking or pets are permitted. Come and experience Mammoth's premier ski-in, ski-out destination lodge-perfect for families, couples and mountain adventurers alike! All Mammoth Sierra guests also receive complimentary full access to the Snowcreek Athletic Club where you can enjoy facilities such as the indoor heated pool, steam/sauna, full fitness facility, yoga/pilates and cycle studio's. Great apartment, very convenient for skiing.

Great apartment, clean and comfortable with everything needed for a family ski trip. Ski/walk to lift (depending on snow!) is invaluable.

A few things to consider...The master bedroom needs a new mattress (badly) and there are a few things that need repair (master bath fan and light as well as a leaky kitchen sink). The kitchen has the basics Overall you cannot beat the ski in/out location.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You cannot beat the ski in/ski out location! The building felt safe and secure as well. The unit was too small for us, next time we would rent a larger unit and perhaps one that was more updated. However, the unit was clean, and we appreciate the faster internet available in this unit. There are some maintenance issues, such as the light and fan in the bathroom. Could use new bedding for king bed. Basically, if you are just looking for a great location, good internet and just a comfortable place to sleep, this is a nice unit.

It felt like the owners probably use it and has made it comfortable. We appreciate that! Larger coffee cups and bigger bowls would be appreciated. But we enjoyed the bedding. The appropriately sized furniture and the cleanliness. Everything worked which isn't always the case in these units. Generally, it would be nice if we could leave our car in the garage after check out so we can ski that morning. We had to find parking on the street and that was tough just for the morning ski runs.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, very easy to ski in and out. The complex as a whole is very nice. The unit was pretty well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. Curiously, though, there were no wine glasses! The large shower in the master bath has no shelf to hold shampoo, etc. so those items had to be on the floor - not something I expected in a "5 star" condo. Also, one of the lights in that bath was a strobe light and thus unusable. The kitchen light was very dim, too, which made meal prep a little more work than should have been needed. One other nuisance is that the room keys & parking pass needed to be returned to the rental office rather than simply left in the unit. So folks planning to ski on checkout day first have to drive across town to drop those items. This is the first time I've had to do that in a Mammoth condo rental.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoy this unit because of its location within Sunstone. However, I wish the kitchen was stocked with better knives, at least decent spatulas and pans. We tend to prep easy meals when we are there because we have kids and quite frankly, we spend the money on lodging so we can eat in our room and of course ski-in and out. Food in Mammoth just isn't great and the ones that are have long lines. There aren't enough large bowls. Nothing to bake on and really we just want some easy fresh cookies. We bought foil because we knew. But at least one baking sheet. I don't really feel like this kitchen has the basics for comfortable meal prep. But we love the beds. The comfortable mattresses, bunk beds and the pull out at the bottom are awesome. Thank you for those. Its hard to find good bedding for a family of 5 so it is appreciated.

Great Ski in ski out. Unit has a few issues.

First the good. 1) Location impossible to beat. 100% ski in ski out. First floor unit so we skied in and out from our balcony. Five star. Sunstone a generally pretty nice building. 2) Beds and furniture very comfortable. 3) Had a minor leakage from bathroom above early Saturday morning. Management company very responsive and had someone there very very quickly and resolved the issue satisfactorily right away. The unit itself could use some improvement. 1) Smart TV in living room very high quality picture but zero ability to watch actual TV. Only streaming content available. To watch the NFL playoffs we had to watch from the bedroom. We tried everything under the sun to find regular TV content but no bueno. 2) fireplace, which is only source of heat in living room was unresponsive to the remote control which supposedly operated it. Had to remove grill and manually turn on and off. 3) blinds on patio door are so heavy that the grip on the string used to hold them open was unable to do so. Therefore the door as it opened and closed shredded the bottom of the blinds. This should be serviced as I’m sure it once worked when they were newer. 4) toaster oven archaic. Took forever to toast anything. Toaster knob moves either direction and if not careful about shutting it off exactly perfectly it will stay on creating a real fire hazard. We unplugged it between use. Needs to go. most people just prefer a regular toaster. 5) January 17th condo still had Xmas decor. Yuck. Who decorates a rental condo for Xmas? 6) I accidentally broke the Mr Coffee urn on Sunday. Immediately reported it to the management company and requested a new one (of course I’m happy to pay the replacement cost). Never happened. As a result I had to go buy two expensive cups of coffee at the little shop in the lobby of Juniper on Monday morning while I had a ton of coffee sitting uselessly on the counter. All these truly minor but as a vacation rental owner myself I know what’s what. How hard is it to demand perfection from yourself? Whoever is in charge seems happy with mediocrity. Still none of it really damaged our overall experience. None of this angered me but I take note of stuff. I just thought the owner and management should know. Anyone renting here will be happy and I assume even happier if ownership and management address these issues.

I've had a vey bad experience this time after coming to this place for more than 10 years. First of all, one of the door keys (card) didn't work and I have to spend time to call the customer service and wait for them for about an hour to bring another one. Then, this room had two bedrooms and normally the 2 bedrooms condos in Sunstone and Junniper Spring have 2 covered parking spots. Moreover, we couldn't connect to the internet that mentioned in the reservation confirmation email.

Truly ski in ski out

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental is on the first floor of Sunstone on the Eagle lift side. Underground parking an elevator and luggage carts make moving in and out convenient. Although no large the 2 BR 2 Bath unit was perfect for 2 adults. This unit could use some maintenance for loose fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen and updating of the pots and pans as well as Stove but all are serviceable. It is clean and the gas fireplace is a plus. The internet is a bit slow but the TV is capable of streaming and has Netflix and cable. The Master bed is adequate and again the mattress could be updated. The bunk in the second bedroom is in excellent shape. The building is safe quiet and it’s literally less than 100 yards to ski right to the lift.
