Garage with tumble dryer (shared with owner).. Enclosed patio with garden furniture. Lawned garden (shared with owner). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. With views towards the gentle undulating hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, this beautifully presented country cottage provides a peaceful base from which to explore the surrounding area. Relatively undiscovered, this corner of Yorkshire has provided inspiration for the famous Hockney paintings and local artist Robert Fuller, who has an interesting gallery in nearby Thixendale. Ideal for couples and families, the cottage enjoys an open plan living area and a spacious enclosed patio. There are numerous walks and cycle trails locally, and for convenience, a bike store is available at the property. The neighbouring village of Rillington has a useful range of facilities with two pubs, fish and chip shop, general store and a post office, and there is a farmhouse bakery and a coffee shop in nearby Scampston, 2 miles.



    Visit the market towns of Malton and Pickering, and enjoy a scenic trip aboard the North York Moors steam train. Spend a day out at Castle Howard, Burton Agnes Hall, Eden Camp and RSPB Bempton Cliffs. The coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all within an hour’s drive, and the ancient walled city of York, 24 miles, offers a wealth of attractions including its iconic minster, museums and many cobbled streets and historic buildings to explore. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Gorgeous cottage very comfortable & the best equipped we’ve ever stayed in! Marilyn is a lovely host & made us very welcome. Location is great as it’s very quiet but not far from Malton which has lots of places to eat & variety of shops. Excellent location to visit York, Whitby, Scarborough, also the Eden Camp Museum is absolutely amazing which is very close by. We would definitely stay again.
