Katrine Cottage is a welcoming period property in the heart of Sherburn nr Malton, perfectly placed for discovering coast, countryside and some of North Yorkshire’s best loved attractions. Packed with character and sleeping up to five guests, it is an inviting choice for couples, friends and families. Two dogs are welcome too, so nobody needs to miss out on the adventure.

Step inside into the farmhouse style kitchen, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave and washing machine. Next door, the cosy living and dining room is made for relaxed evenings, with a log-burning stove and Smart TV. Steep traditional cottage stairs lead to the first floor, where you will find a bright double bedroom with dual aspect windows and a spacious family bedroom furnished with a double and single bed. Both bedrooms have their own Smart TV. The house bathroom features a bath with a shower over. Outside, the enclosed front garden provides a seating area and off-street parking; a lovely spot for a morning coffee or a drink after a day exploring.

Sherburn is a friendly village with everyday essentials close at hand. From the cottage, it is a short stroll to the village centre, where you can pick up fresh treats from the bakery or call into the local store. The welcoming village pub is also within easy walking distance, ideal when you fancy a relaxed drink or an evening away from the kitchen.

Drive through the village and you will soon find yourself surrounded by open North Yorkshire countryside. Walkers and cyclists have plenty of opportunities to explore quiet lanes, scenic footpaths and ever changing landscapes, while the cottage’s convenient location makes longer days out wonderfully straightforward.

Food lovers should make time for Malton, rightly renowned as North Yorkshire’s vibrant food capital. Browse its independent shops, discover local producers and sample delicious food in its cafés, pubs and restaurants. For a memorable heritage experience, head to Pickering and climb aboard the famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway, travelling through beautiful scenery towards the dramatic landscapes of the North York Moors.

Castle Howard is another unmissable destination. Spend an afternoon exploring this magnificent historic house, impressive grounds and gardens before returning to the comfort of the cottage. If the seaside is calling, you will be spoilt for choice: the traditional resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all within around 30 minutes by car, offering sandy beaches, coastal walks, family attractions and plenty of fresh sea air.

Historic York is also approximately a 30-minute drive away. Wander along its ancient walls, admire York Minster, explore characterful streets and uncover centuries of history in its excellent museums and attractions.
