This was a newer very clean hotel. My stay there was very short, though so I can’t comment on the breakfast or other amenities. What I can say, however, is that this hotel’s relationship with Expedia is poor.
I paid for the room in advance on the Expedia website. It is what is most convenient for providing receipts to my employer. When I got to the hotel, the clerk told me I had to use a DIFFERENT credit card from the one I had used to book the room, or the hotel couldn’t process it, and I couldn’t stay. The clerk tried a couple of different things, but couldn’t get their system to accept my card. I have no other card. She was very kind, and was doing what was in her control. I asked if she could call someone, she said I could call the AmericInn office. I asked for the number. She did not have it. She said I could call Expedia, and have them cancel the room and reimburse me for the stay, and then I could rebook directly with the hotel. She said it had worked with a guest the day before. I asked what she would charge me for the new rate? She didn’t answer, but said, she may have figured a way to make my card work. And…wallah. My card went through. I can’t tell if it was a scam by AmericInn to exclude Expedia, or just a problem they need to fix. It was ridiculous, however, it took 45 minutes, and I won’t be staying at another AmericInn.
