Villananda - Amazing Beachfront Villa with Private Pool

  • Villananda is a beautiful beachfront property with polished concrete, antique doors (Ambalangoda is the place for antiques in Sri Lanka) and decorative objects carefully selected from the local area.

    The two spacious rooms are equipped with king-size beds (180 x 200 cm) with mosquito nets and air conditioning units. Each has a writing table in the corner.

    In one bedroom, the bed can be adjusted into two single beds 90 x 200 cm.

    Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with solar heated water and separate toilets.

    Bed linen and towels are of European quality.

    The spacious living room/sitting area will allow you to enjoy the eclectic library with a few good books to discover, comfortably seated in the lounge area, unless you prefer an internet session on the coffee table or on the veranda. Speakers systems are available.

    The fully equipped kitchen (2 gas burners, refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee maker ...) will allow you to cook yourself if you prefer not to order lunch or dinner from our reasonably priced menu. Breakfast is included, as is filtered water, air conditioning, wifi, and housekeeping.

    The vast terrace overlooking the garden, the pool and the sea will welcome you for meals and relaxation.

    The private pool is carefully maintained and the water quality monitored every day. Swim peacefully, while enjoying the show of the waves.

    The manager will be able to answer your questions and the chef and houseboy will be available to look after your every need. At least one member of staff will stay in the adjoining service house overnight.

    The villa is just outside Ambalangoda and the manager can arrange tuk tuk trips for you to the surrounding area or longer journeys and excursions in an air conditioned van. The lively town, Hikkaduwa, is close by and the famous Galle Fort UNESCO heritage site is just over 30 minutes away by tuk tuk.

    Transfer from the airport: it takes only about 1 1/2 hours to reach the villa from the airport, depending on the traffic. We can arrange transport for you in an air conditioned minivan at a competitive price.

Die Villa zum Indischen Ocean

Der Besitzer dieser Einzigartigen Villa hat uns trotz der Schwierigen Wirtschaftlichen Lage Mut gemacht und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Der moderne Dunkelblaue Swimmingpool mit Blick und direktem Zugang zum Traumhaften Strand ist überwältigend. Die massiv gebaute Villa mit Himmelbetten vermittelt Ruhe und Sicherheit. Sampath der Betreuer kümmert sich um all unsere Wünsche rund um die Uhr. Das Frisch zubereitete essen von Personal wurde uns von zwei Freundlichen Jungs serviert, die auch für Getränke und extra Wünsche zuständig waren. Wir könnten von der Villa auch mit Tuk Tuk Rundreisen unternehmen . Wir haben einige Nächte in der Villa gebucht und noch verlängert. Mily Bruno, moc dekuji za krasne chvile ve vasem dome. Bylo to SUPER!!!! Krasne, klidne misto, velka plaz. Ubytovani je velmi luxusni. Velka zahrada s bazenem. Persoval vejmi ohleduplny, diskretni. Skvely kuchar, ktery se prizpusobil nasim pozadavkum. Urcite se pristi rok vratim. Zdenek

Amazing villa, good food, friendly staff

Absolutely fantastic stay. We couldn't fault the villa at all, everything was absolutely perfect. We went to sri-lanka for two weeks, stopping the first week in Mirrisa and for our final week we decided to stop at Ambalangoda and stumbled across this luxury villa on ownersdirect. There are staff on site that couldn't have been any more helpful. The young man who did all the cooking (cant remember his name) was fluent in English and cooked beautiful meals every day throughout our stay. The food was absolutely gorgeous, plenty of meals to choose from and not expensive at all. We didn't eat out at all as the food was so lovely and we enjoyed having a drink on the terrace watching the beautiful sunsets. I recommend having the barbecue if you get the chance, was the perfect end to our holiday. The villa is quite remote - a short tuk-tuk ride to the nearest town or slightly further to the resort of Hikkaduwa. There's not much around but if you want a beach, pool, good food, and peace and quiet, then this villa is perfect. We didn't want to go home. We stayed in sri-lanka in early September. We were abit worried about the weather as there were conflicting reviews on trip advisor, some saying the weather was fine, some saying it was rainy at this time of year. We probably had 4 days out of the whole 2 weeks holiday where it rained (but this was only for a few hours) the sea was very choppy so wouldn't recommend for weak swimmers or children. A few trips were not avaliable due to the season but over all for the price I would definitely recommend going in September. The staff will arrange any trips for you. Taxis or tuk-tuks are available at short notice just by asking the staff. Would recommend doing the river safari but make sure you go early morning due to the heat, best time to see the monkeys and other wildlife. Thankyou for such a amazing holiday. We spent our honeymoon at Villananda in July 2014,what a terrific place in a wonderful setting.The villa was just perfect and the swimming pool a real bonus!We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Nicole and Bruno and spending a lovely evening with them at the villa on the lagoon,you couldnt meet nicer more welcoming people.Sudath and the other villa staff were great and the home made curries were just delicious.If you are considering staying at Villananda think no longer as you could not stay in a better place.Thank you all for making our stay very special.We hope to return someday and maybe stay at the lagoon villa next time! Robert & Carly.

Excellent location and hospitality

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely beach cottage. The setting right on the beach and the sunsets were spectacular. Accommodation very clean and neat and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The traditional meals prepared and served by the staff were of a very high quality and reasonably priced. Highly recommended if you want to break away from your normal daily routine and just want to relax next to the pool with a book to read.
