The bedrooms were very small, beautiful house, they could of supplied us with more paper products. 1 roll of TP for 6 guest is very skimpy

This property was close to Lunenburg but felt very remote. We found the main floor shower very small for a taller person. Also the toilets took a long time to refill so we found ourselves having to fill it manually to make it ready for use between people sharing the bathroom. We were not a good fit for the old world charm this property provides. But I think if you were looking for quiet setting you will love this place.

We loved the location. Driving onto Corkums Island is a special and unique experience. There was a lot of space for our family, and we enjoyed the deck. You can walk to a quiet, small beach. It is an older property, so be warned that the stairs are quite steep. The upstairs bedrooms were VERY warm. Also, there is a large dining room table, but there are only 4 chairs (2 folding chairs are provided).

Cute historic home! Great views and central location to Lunenburg. Caution for any accessibility needs with older architecture. May need to bring extra essentials like towels and toilet paper.

Great spot - very comfortable. Only criticism was the barbeque -- the grill is quite rusty so we did not use it. Would go back again!

The home was clean but everything from the window coverings to pots and pans were of thrift store quality. The kitchen is very badly in need of an update. The cabinets are old and in poor condition. None of the Venetian blinds opened or closed properly. The teflon fry pans were scratched (very unhealthy) and preparing a meal with pots provided was difficult. There is a lovely outdoor patio but without an umbrella it was too hot to sit on in the morning. None of the outdoor furniture was wiped down prior to our arrival and the furniture cushions are dirty and need to be replaced. The home is spacious and provides plenty of room to spread out but I think more could be done to enhance your guests stay.

Overall, we had a good experience. However, there were definite improvements that we would suggest for future guests.The bunkbed mattresses are very hard and our kids could not sleep on them. The master bedroom was only big enough to fit a bed, so there were no nightstands or anywhere to put clothing. There were not enough dishes. The shower is tiny and difficult for anyone who is tall. It is a beautiful spot to stay but the improvements would make for a more comfortable experience.

Wonderful property and amazing location. Rooms were a great size and comfortable. I wish I had the main bathroom at home! Toilets were tall which I love and have at home but for littles may be worth bringing a folding stool. We struggled with the AC but I’m sure they would’ve helped if we reached out as they were so helpful and responsive. Overall we realized we enjoyed the ocean breeze even more though and even on the hottest day (38 Celsius with humidex), the breeze was incredible and even sometimes cool enough for the youngest to want a blanket! Loved the location on the island, wish we went down to the beach more but had a busy couple days. Really close to Lunenburg and an independent. Some challenges with restaurants and pharmacies closing earlier than we are used to but we planned ahead so were aware and fine with it. Just worth being aware if anyone is visiting from a larger city and not an advance planner. We would absolutely go back with the only difference being to stay for longer!

Another great stay on Corkum's Island! We made great use of the little beach this time, exploring around the island with our canoe. The house tolerated the heat pretty well, and we look forward to our next visit.

Family getaway

Our family stayed at the beach house. It was as listed, beautiful, clean and quiet. Close to town but very peaceful in the evenings. Would 100% stay there again.

A beautiful old warm Character home in an absolutely stunning setting. If you want to experience staying on the South Shore this is a gem.

Great location!!

Lovely location, house was well equipped, close to all amenities, very private. Lots of room, would be an excellent place for a small family reunion. Excellent host! Responded quickly to any queries.

Location was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Apple Orchard Cottage in Lunenburg. Location was excellent. House was well equipped and comfortable for our group of 5. Quick drive into Lunenburg. Absolutely loved the breeze that blew through the house on beautiful sunny days!
