Nice place for a short break. A couple of ok places to grab a bite within 5 minutes walk but numerous good places within 15 min walk. Close to port and beach.

We had a wonderful stay. The complex was beautiful and well kept with 3 lovely pools and some restaurants and bars and supermarket etc, the agents there were so friendly and helpful, the apartment was beautiful and to top it all the weather was lovely. I would highly recommend.

Nice place with amazing pool and garden

Very nice place, clean, friendly staff. The pool was absolutly amazing. The apartment was well equiped, just missing a grill that I expected it to have it, as for summer Holidays is good to prepare some easy meals. I would recommend this place.

Been to Old Village before and this was a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment. Lovely and cool and generally quiet. The accommodation could have done with another sofa. The pools became very busy at the beginning of the summer holidays.

Avoid the descriptions are false

We were told that we would have a Balcony or Patio, we had neither. Cleaners never showed up, other than on the last day to deliver 2 trash bags and a half used toilet roll No clean towels one each for the week As seniors we didn’t expect to be 20 feet away from the pool with blaring music and screaming kids The restaurant pretend to busy moving you to bars to sell drinks The other restaurant has small children causing chaos late at night why did they accept your family bookings All in all a bad experience Even the TV needed constant rebooting perhaps the staff could do with the same

Excellent property had everything we needed

This was a late booking for a couple, the studio was very spacious even included a washing machine if needed, 3 seperate pools with small pool bar. Supermarket on site and it only took 10 minutes to wal to the marina at the centre of Vilamoura, I cant recommend this property highly enough and will definately be back next year with the extended family, tourist train stoped just outside the complex and was worth a trip on the 1st day to see exactly were everything is in the resort, i think there was at least 4 seperate places to eat and the food was excellent , “ specials” of a really high quality and portions very good

Appartement mal entretenu et sale. La lunette du WC était cassée ainsi qu'une barre porte-linge. Il y avait encore des cheveux des anciens locataires dans la salle de bain. Je ne recommande pas cet établissement.

Last min booking and what a treat. The apartment is spacious if a little dated and overlooking the pool. Very clean and lots of choice for a quiet drink and food. Supermarket on site. All staff were friendly and the gardens are kept lovely

Poor apartment

I booked 2 apartments, one for us and one for my sons family. We were given 2 very different apartments. Ours was below standard expected whereby our sons was lovely. Ours was dirty, old, ill equipped etc.upon checking they only had me as booking one apartment so I feel they just found us an empty one. We couldn’t use kitchen as work surfaces were unhygienic, tiles were cracked and filthy. We were supposed to have garden view but had road view. Apartment was dirty and never cleaned the ten days we were there. Staff in the office refused to listen and then offered to move us after a week but couldn’t guarantee when ? The Old village is beautiful, we had booked to attend a wedding in the village. But the apartments vary greatly. As we booked via Expedia and had been assured we would receive 2 apartments the same, we are not happy that ours was not as we booked or payed for.

Beautiful well equipped studio close to pool

Stayed at the old village for 6 nights at the end of August. 2 adults and a 5 year old stayed in studio apartment which was more than adequately sized to act as our base. The studio was nicely decorated and very well equipped. It overlooked the ‘Dolphin Pool’ which was surprisingly quiet and relaxing for the time of year - beautiful! The Old Village was everything you would expect from a village, a choice of restaurants and bars, a supermarket, bakery, play area for children. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to couples and families alike. However, if I was to be really picky, I was disappointed that inflatables weren’t allowed in the pool.

Beautiful and compact holiday village.

Large well designed apartments surrounded by well kept gardens. Several restaurants/bars and three swimming pools. Our apartment was very spacious but in need of repair in places and badly needed some new furniture. Nevertheless,we had a stunning view from our private sun terrace and felt little need to struggle to the public beaches.

Appartement bien conçu et équipé. Parking facile au mois de juin. Cadre très agréable. PROBLEME : manque de professionnalisme de l'agence chargée de la location.Sur la confirmation de la réservation il n'y a ni le nom de la rue, ni le nom de l'agence, ni les coordonnées GPS (latitude, longitude).

Unexpected visitor

This is our third time to the Old Village as we love it, but the first time booking through hotels.com. Everything was great except for one incident. On Wed night at around 8.30pm we were in our studio which was 12A Village Sq. We were getting ready to go out. A young lad of about 15 or so let himself into our house with a key. My husband was startled and asked what he was doing. The lad got a fright and said he didnt realise anyone was in...that he just wanted to get the wifi code.! and that his Dad owns the house. My husband let him take a photo of the code on the back of front door. The boy then said sorry and left. It was only after he had left that I came from the bathroom with a towel on me. I dont need to let you know how wrong this whole thing was.!.. I Went out to see if I could see him or the Dad but could not find them. So had he taken a key without the dad knowing or did the dad think it was ok for him to just let himself in to peoples rental properties. Anything of ours could have gone missing and the cleaners would have been blamed on it. I would like an explanation, and an apology from the owner of the house, as this was not the staff in the Old Village's fault. The lady at reception in Live'n Holidays was highly apologetic and gave us another house to shower in while we had checked out ahead of our flight. I await your response. Yours, Caroline

lovely studios with everything you could want

these studios for two at the old village are perfect. everything is provided that you would need and even has a washer. the old village is a lovely place to stay with plenty of places to eat and drink. 3 pools to choose from and if you want to go to vilamoura they have a minibus that will take you and there is also a road train if you dont want to walk. we usually stay in a villa and go to the village on a night , but we thouroughly enjoyed our stay here and we will return.

Nice complex but its pot luck on apartment

The Old Village complex itself is lovely and well kept, but the apartments are all privately owned so it's pot luck if you get a well maintained apartment or not. The first night was spent it an awful freezing cold apartment and the air conditioning unit doubled up as a heater but it wasn't sufficient at this time of year as the temperature is very cold in the evening. It wasn't helped that it was a ground floor one that didn't get any sun through the day and the door and windows were letting any warm air straight out, one blanket each was certainly not enough! The next morning we went to the rental company Live In Holidays, who agreed to move us to a different apartment, this one was on the top floor and got the sun all day plus the heater worked much better. The beds were also more comfortable and we took the extra blankets from the first apartment to make sure we'd be warm enough. The facilities in the apartment were fine and we had sufficient cooking equipment to make breakfast and lunch if you wanted to, but it was no means 5 star luxury but for the £95pp including flights for a weeks holiday we weren't expecting much. All the windows needed replacing though as they all leaked and ruined anything left nearby. There was lots of maintenance going on around the complex and many of the apartments were getting fully renovated both inside and out and I think it should be standard for all of the owners to have to meet minimum standards, a good idea to check before booking.

great break, but you get what you pay for

we were in apartment 12BC. Was a good location, clean and had all the essentials. Maid service was once a week to change bedding and towel, they do pop in throughout the week but just to top up toilet rolls etc. The thing with these apartments and what a lot of people get wrong is they are cheap but that comes with downsides like maid service that isn't daily. I go every October as the weather is still good, it's quiet and doesn't cost much. The pools are really nice but they are cold, not too cold you can't swim but cold. The staff are friendly but if you have any questions go and talk to them. Again, it's not a hotel you get what you ask for.
