Host was semi-responsive. However, there were bed bugs, & there’s evidence that building management was aware; on 10/14 a notice was posted on the entrance that there would be exterminators 10/15, & to inform them if we wanted our room to be treated. Building in general is in disrepair. Room doesn’t match pictures posted on Expedia; listing described the unit as a studio apartment, it was actually a room in a dilapidated hotel. There was 1 outdated elevator that isn’t wheelchair accessible as it requires both hands to open 2 doors upon entry & exit. The elevator didn’t work when we arrived, & stalled several times throughout the visit. We contacted the host, but building manager couldn’t be reached. Bathroom is incredibly tiny, you can’t open or close the door while on the toilet, & there’s no counter space. Bathtub looked clean, but shower curtain was discolored & rod/hooks were rusty. Each guest was presented 1 bath towel, but there was only 1 washcloth total. Our request for towels to be replaced took several days to be fulfilled. Utensils in cupboard were rusty. We were told to throw out our own trash. There was an air conditioner that was in dire need of cleaning & did not seem safe to use. Interior of fridge was dirty, fridge & freezer were too warm even when adjusted to coldest setting, so items melted. Only 1 key fob for 2 guests. Outlets are clustered in inconvenient areas. Corner armchair was stained. First aid kit mostly empty. Near buses, sidewalks ill-maintained.
