Secluded villa with fabulous pool and jacuzzi, in a beautiful tranquil location

Imagine being in such a peaceful location where you are serenaded by birdsong and tinkling goat bells. This villa is set in idyllic rural Andalucia amongst the olive groves, with beautiful views from the villa and the pool terrace. You can see for miles in the day, and the clear night skies are fabulous for star-gazing! With a huge private pool and gorgeous hot tub, what are you waiting for?!

The villa sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, in a combination of a King-Size bed, a Double Bed and a Twin-Bedded room. All the bedrooms have air-conditioning, and have shuttered windows, with beautiful views over the surrounding hills.

The villa is very secluded, and is surrounded by a pretty garden of olive trees and Mediterranean plants and shrubs. There is plenty of outside space to relax in, with extensive patios and outdoor furniture to relax, a shaded porch for outdoor dining, and a peaceful gazebo to enjoy a sundowner or two!

The stunning 12 metre saline pool has a large surrounding patio with comfy sun loungers to relax on and soak up the Spanish sunshine. There is a spacious cool porch if you want to sit in the shade and read, or maybe play a game (Scrabble and Chess are available). After swimming, why not lie back and enjoy the bubbles in the large jacuzzi, perfect for watching the stars appear in the evening sky.

Andalucia's many attractions are easily reached from the villa. The beautiful city of Granada is under an hour away, with it's spectacular World Heritage Alhambra Palace, and well worth a visit. Malaga also is under an hour - visit the delicious food market, see the birthplace of Picasso, and wander the cobbled streets full of tapas bars and ice-cream parlours. Cordoba, with its famous Mezquita, is 90 minutes away and makes a fascinating day-trip.

There are various animals around the property, cats, dogs and donkeys. The cats sometimes go into the villa, so anyone with allergies should be aware of this.
The owner lives in a separate house in a field below the villa, and takes care of pool maintenance and the garden.

We had a wonderful two week stay, thank you! The property is incredibly clean and comfortable, and very well equipped. It is located on a peaceful hillside and is very quiet and secluded. The air conditioning in the bedrooms and living room is welcome, as is the large swimming pool. The villa is well located for Granada, Córdoba, Malaga and other larger towns, and there are activities and supermarkets within a fairly short drive.

Wow! What a fabulous property in a serene location. The host was there to welcome us and show us around her beautiful villa and grounds. Phillipa remained available for the duration of our 10 day stay, ensuring the pool was keep clean and on hand for any support if we needed it. The location is so peaceful. During our stay we heard peacocks, turkeys, cockerels, geese, a frog, goats, dogs and horses. The villa has everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. It was only a 10-15 minute drive to the motorway with easy access to Seville, Malaga and Granada and more! Thank you Philippa for a very restful holiday in your wonderful villa.

Lovely Away From It All Spot With Great Pool and Connectivity

We stayed for four weeks and couldn’t have felt more at home. Philippa goes out of her way to help without being intrusive. The mountain setting is idyllic and the pool takes the edge off the hottest days. Fast internet and a wide range of Sky TV channels means that you can still stay connected, if you want to.

Peaceful and spacious house with huge pool

We have had an amazing couple of weeks staying in this lovely house. The house is even more wonderful than the photos suggest. The stand out feature for us is the pool, pool house and hot tub. Some days we didn't leave the house as it was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. Living in the city, this is the perfect escape. Philippa is the perfect host too- we can't wait to return!

Amazing slice of peaceful Spain

We had an amazing fortnight with so much space to chill! The pool was amazing and views stunning. It was super quiet and miles away from others. Philippa was an excellent host - very responsive and helpful both in advance and whilst we were there. It was a drive to anywhere, and local restaurants etc were great, but always a drive away, and of course the Spanish eat very late but we soon slowed down to the Spanish pace! It was hot (up to about 37 degrees) when we were there but it didn't bother us with the pool and air con to keep us cool! In short. It was bliss...!

Fabulous Stay

We had a fantastic time in Phillipa’s wonderful home. Breathtaking views, pool area, pool and hot tub for star gazing were amazing. The wonderful house was very well equipped with everything we needed.Phillipa is a brilliant and discreet host, who was really helpful with directions as the house is in a rural setting. We visited Granada and Camiinto del rey which were just over one hours drive away. We hope to return!

Wonderful villa and swimmingpool

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful house in Loja. Philippa is a very good and sweet hostess, who ensured that we had a wonderful holiday. The weather let us down occasionally, but we were able to enjoy a nice warm jacuzzi. The house and garden was very clean and well cared for. We will definitely come back!

The peak of Tranquility

Fabulous place to stay in the mountains of Andulucia. . We were looking to have total peaceful surroundings and we certainly got it. The only sound was of the goats and sheep. They were our nearest neighbours. Unfortunately we had to leave 5 days early due to family circumstances back home and we are still missing our lovely villa. We Will definitely return someday.

A lovely getaway

If you are looking for a place that gets you away from it all then this is a great choice. It gives you the sense of being off grid but the great WiFi means you can stay connected if you need to. The accommodation and pool were exactly as described and Phillipa was a lovely host who made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. This is a remote location so you need to drive and shop in advance to make the most of your stay. If you are keen to explore the are you are in easy striking distance of Malaga and Granada. We'd have done more of this if our stay had been longer but for our short stay we enjoyed relaxing by the pool with Phillipa's adorable cats.

A perfect place to rest, relax and enjoy the peace and beauty.

Right from our arrival at Finca El Chopillo we (two adults and two children, 8 and 5 years) felt very comfortable and could start to relax. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed and we arrived very late. Philippa nevertheless took the time to make our arrival as pleasant as possible. She even left food for us, making sure it was gluten-free as our son only tolerates that. A very big thank you again for that! The villa itself is very well equipped and lacks nothing. There are many cosy seating areas, which offer the possibility to be in the shade at any time of the day. The views of the surrounding area are breathtakingly beautiful and pleasantly calming. The pool is lovely and large, beautifully landscaped and excellently maintained. The children and we spent a lot of time in it. The area around the house is so pleasantly peaceful and we loved all the natural sounds from the subtle bells of the sheep to the occasional calls of the peacocks. On many evenings we were able to enjoy the magnificent starry sky as there is little disturbing light pollution in the area. Philippa really is a great hostess. She was always there when we needed her and did everything she could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you again for all the great tips and the fantastic, very relaxing massage! We can highly recommend the house and would love to come back!

Excellent villa and location

This is a fantastic location if you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful holiday. The villa is clean and very well equipped and the pool area is superb. The villa is in a remote location surrounded by stunning views of the countryside but actually only about 10 minutes drive from the motorway. Philippa is a great host who is always on hand to provide information or assistance when needed. Communication during the booking process, and throughout the holiday was really good. We tested her directions to the full by arriving late at night due to flight delays but still managed to find the villa easily. We visited for a week and had planned some days out but as the weather was so hot we spent the majority of the time by the pool and the days just flew past. Would highly recommend. Thank you Philiipa !

Absolutely wonderful!

As soon as we arrived at the villa, we knew we had made the right decision. It is very pretty with lots of traditional features which we love. However, the location is just incredible. It is so quiet with amazing views in every direction and the outside area is beautifully laid out and landscaped. There are so many areas where you can sit in the shade or in the sun. The pool is the best we have ever had when renting a villa. Despite planning to explore the area, we hardly left the villa at all spending our days round the pool and the evenings eating in the garden. It is so peaceful that we completely relaxed. We loved to hear the sheep bells jingling as they walked around the countryside outside the villa and will really miss that. Phillipa was a fabulous host. We only saw her in person when we arrived and when we left but we were able to message her at anytime. She could not have been more helpful. We will definitely be back and hope to book again in the spring or Autumn so we can get out and explore the area more - there is so much to do within an easy drive from the villa. We cant recommend it enough.

Perfect Secluded Getaway

As a family of three we had a wonderful two weeks staying at El Chopillo Finca - The house is absolutely beautiful with plenty of areas to sit and relax and with great air conditioning indoors to help escape the heat when required. The pool is magnificent, large with ample enough room for a large family and plenty of pool toys to use to entertain children. The Villa is remote, nestled in the hillside and as evening begins you can hear the sounds of the peacocks and the goat bells begin. Star gazing is absolutely amazing from here with zero light pollution and you can see some of the most magnificent sites. Our little girl had a fantastic time visiting the Donkeys and dogs at the house used by the owner in the lower field and it made it that bit more special. Philippa is the perfect host - always available, knowledgeable and discreet. A very relaxing getaway in a beautiful place - would highly recommend a stay.

Beautiful house in the Anadalucian counryside

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in August at El Chopillo. The house and pool were perfect for our family group of five with plenty of space to enjoy meals, swim, relax outside and stargaze late into the evening. The owner Phillipa was so helpful with a lovely welcome basket for us and advice about places to see and things to do in the area. Granada and Malaga are less than an hours drive away, easily reached and we'll worth visiting. The house is beautifully located in the hills not far from Loja. Perfect for a peaceful getaway amongst nature and close enough to the vibrant sights and sounds of Andalucia.

Une très romantique Finca dominant un vallon au milieu des champs d'oliviers.

Formidable semaine à la Finca El Chopillo. Le logement a du cachet, impeccablement tenu et très bien agencé pour la famille de 5 que nous étions. La vie dehors s'agrémente d'un spacieuse terrasse avec une grande piscine. Les dîners sous le porche permettent de profiter d'un air plus frais en soirée. Emplacement pratique pour effectuer des visites touristiques en étoile : moins d'une heure de voiture de Grenade, de Malaga, d'Antequerra. Très cordial accueil de Philippa.

Ultimate Relaxation!

We stayed as a family of 5 (3 generations) here in early August for a week. It was an amazing stay that suppassed our expectations (which were already set quite high from all the 5 star reviews!). The house is set in a spectacular location, surrounded by hills/mountains. Although there are no other villas in sight, there is a definate sense of safety, secuirty and tranquility. We were travelling with our hyper vigillant adopted child who seemed to relax the second we stepped out of the hire car (which is unheard of on holidays). The pool and gardens are stunning with 5 or 6 seating areas to sit depending on the time of day. Our favourite time was the evening. The temperatures drops a bit from the heat in the middle of the day (being 700m above sea level), we enjoyed the sunset and then all the stars came out (very little light pollution). we all talked with are heads tilted upwards from that point onwards, sometimes in the jacuzzi - star gazing was very good! Philippa is a wonderful host. Very walm and welcoming. She lives in the field next to the house and is very helpful if needed. There is a excellent visitor guide in the property which we had high intentions to use to visit a lot of Philippa's recommendations but we only managed 2 in a week (Granada - Alhambra and Nerja - Limestone caves)! They were both excellent but the house was so beautiful and relaxing we just seemed to want to chill. The house is 15/20 mins drive from a supermarket, so it is important you are organised with your shopping list and don't forget anything. One of our family was a little worried about being away from a tourist resort centre but completely changed his views within a couple of days and said it was the most relaxing holiday he has had in years! This place is special and is highly recommended!

perfect getaway

A lovely Villa, very well equipped. Fantastic pool and hot tub. a little remote, but that was exactly what we were looking for. Stone built villa that was cool, even in the heat, air con if it got too hot, but fans too if just require a breeze to cool down. peaceful, relaxing, excellent star gazing and birds around. Top experience in Andalousia

Philippa has been great from the first contact to the last ensuring appropriate support to facilitate our stay respecting our privacy. The House was well equipped (all appropriate equipments in the kitchen, air conditionning in each of the 3 bedrooms and living room, Sat TV and wifi, ...), Outside the swimming-pool was gorgeous and cleaned every day as the garden. The area is quiet in the middle of olive trees (you need a car to get to the property). All that we were looking for. Thank you Philippa we would love to come back

A super holiday

Philippa's beautiful villa provides a true 'get away from it all' holiday. It's nestled in the hills providing amazing views, ideal star gazing and it is a great base for visiting lots of interesting places. We went to Granada, Cordoba, Iznajar (reservoir and town), Antequera (fiesta week) and the coast near Nerja for some sea-kayaking. We had done quite a few miles by the end of our holiday but with an older teenager in our family we took things easy and had plenty of relaxing villa-time making use of the great pool for swimming and games and the hot tub late evening. The villa is lovely; clean, comfortable and very well kitted out, inside and out. The seating areas outside provide shade when needed throughout the day and the air-con a huge plus to cool the bedrooms at night. Philippa was fantastic, had thoughtfully provided basic provisions and was nearby for any queries and some donkey catching! but very discrete. We can definitely recommend booking El Chopillo. What a wonderful, peaceful location with stunning views.

We had an idyllic two weeks at El Chopillo. It is beautiful and well equipped with every facility you could wish for, especially excellent air-con. The three large bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully attired. Lots of social areas in and out of shade outside make every meal and aperitif al-fresco, overlooking the serene views without another house in sight down the valley. During our fortnight the weather was unbelievable. Philippa was on-hand in case of problems but not remotely intrusive and gave a superb massage; do book one while you're here. We made great use of the lovely pool and the jacuzzi in the evening when the temperature had cooled a little. The shops are only 20 minutes away with several supermarkets in Loja (and an excellent A&E!!). Great restaurants locally. Granada less than an hour away. The beaches of Nerja 1.5 hrs away but worth a visit. A great bird list too if you're interested with Azure-winged Magpies (and a Stone Marten after dark) in the fig tree outside our bedroom window, Blue Rock Thrush, Melodious and Sardinian Warblers, Turtle Doves, Golden Oriole, Little Owls, Nightingale and lots of Bee-eaters and Hawfinches plus Northern Goshawk, Montagu's Harriers, Booted and Short-toed Eagles and a stunning migrating flock of over 400 Black Kites all seen actually at the Villa in a fortnight. We will definitely be back!

This villa delivered everything we was looking for , the pool was amazing

We was looking for a comfortable villa with a great private pool , and this certainly delivered everything we required, we had a great time touring the area , but after busy days out it was great to get back to the pool.

Tout était très bien...

L'accueil, la maison, ses équipements, la piscine, le paysage, la tranquillité... Idéale pour se retrouver ensemble, se détendre, se reposer, tout en pouvant accéder à Grenade en 40 minutes ou à Malaga...

Merveilleux coin de paradis en Andalousie

Encore merci à notre hôte pour cette fabuleuse semaine de vacances dans cette villa qui a été parfaitement bien aménagée. Située au milieu des oliviers, avec une vue imprenable, les chambres y sont spacieuses et la climatisation y est appréciable. Les pièces à vivre sont soigneusement décorées. Les aménagements extérieurs ( grande piscine, jardin, jaccuzzi, salon d'extérieur...) sont bien conçus et bien entretenus et donnent envie de farnienter de longues heures tellement on s'y sent bien. Notre hôte s'est toujours rendue disponible pour répondre à nos moindres interrogations, et nous conseiller sur les visites dans la région. Encore merci!! Nous espérons y revenir prochainement!!
