Loch an Sgoltaire

What an outstandingly beautiful grand old manor house and grounds. The description of the hotel doesn’t do it justice. There are renos coming to the exterior but overall the room was clean and stocked with everything any guest could need. We stayed in the Margadale which was grandly spacious with a beautiful view of the front lawn and the sea. Deep tub was amazing for a soak. No restaurant on site for dinner but we made use of the bar in the evening. Cozy atmosphere, perfect for intimate conversations or a get to know you with other guests from abroad. The reception staff was so gracious and lovely. Unfortunately we had an early ferry booked and couldn’t take in the breakfast. Other guests assured us it was fantastic. Highly recommended for any trip to Islay. We will be back!
