"Hillside lodge is a beautiful cabin/lodge with stunning surroundings. My partner and I only stayed 1 night but could happily do a week (if you like quiet) Self check in and out so no need to find any staff, pulled straight up to the lodge with ease. Lodge was clean and tidy with everything ready that we had ordered. "We stayed a full week in pretty relentless rain yet came away thoroughly impressed by the accommodation and the welcome received from the hosts. The photos almost do not do the property justice, you really need to stay to properly appreciate it all. Lovely history to it, everything you need for your stay. Top quality heating system and faultless WiFi. Nice location, easy walk to the pub and a reasonably short drive to the shops. Our dogs had bowls towels etc provided. Lovely welcome hamper...

"The views are stunning, the local town is lovely. The first look of badgers view we were so excited. Then we entered to hut. It didn’t smell clean, the floors were dirty luckily there was a broom there so I could sweep up the last guests dirt. The kitchen is in much need of a make over, the sides are in awful condition, the fridge is cracked, the floor is all over the place, it’s starting to dip. The floor boards are starting to come apart this is due to the damp. The whole kitchen looked dirty....

"We had a fabulous stay here. The hosts were excellent, providing all the information we needed and even catered for our baby.The cottage itself was immaculate. So much room and beautifully presented. You can't put a price on the view- especially from the hot tub! We had 1 meal at the Angel Inn- proper local pub full of really friendly locals! The only thing to bear in mind is the lack of a village shop nearby- probably a good 25 mins to the nearest supermarket etc."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was very cosy and well equipped. The setting is stunning with beautiful countryside and a haven for wildlife. It was lovely to see the otter and so many different birds, the woodpeckers being our favourite. Angela and Shaun have obviously worked very hard to make this into a special place to come and stay. If you want some peace and quiet, this is the place to be. Sitting in the hot tub, overlooking the lake is a blissful way to enjoy a glass of wine...
