  • 'Hunkapi' is a our beautiful log home situated on 20 private acres at the foot of the Wineglass Mountain. Just a ten minute drive and you find yourself at the heart of historic downtown Livingston.

    Just a 40 minute drive takes you to Gardiner and the north gate of Yellowstone National Park.

    'Hunkapi' is an excellent home for both summer and winter vacations with access to three ski regions in the winter and to Yellowstone National Park at Gardiner all year round.

    Relax and unwind on the deck of our beautiful home. Admire the stunning views of three mountain ranges and watch for the abundant wildlife.

    Set in 20 acres of private land you can enjoy peace and tranquility. For a night out Livingston and its shops and restaurants is only a ten minute drive away. The local supermarket can be reached in 5 minutes by car.

    The house sleeps 11 people in comfort. With two ensuite rooms with king-size beds, 1 ensuite queen-sized bedroom, 1 further room with queen bed, 1 twin room and 1 single room. There is also one family bathroom with tub and shower.

    There is plenty of room for your family to spend time together with a large sitting room with wood burning stove and flat screen TV. A choice of DVDs, books and board games for all the family to enjoy.

    The kitchen is open plan with a dining room where you will be able to spend quality time relaxing over dinner around the large family dining table.

Our family of 10 had a wonderful time at Hunkapi! We had everything we needed and plenty of space for everyone. Adele and Mike were incredible hosts and accommodatingto our needs. The home is beautiful and very comfortable! The location was perfect for going into Bozeman or down to Yellowstone National Park (we visited the park 3 of our days there. So many animals to see! We found a couple of places to just pull over and let the kids play in the snow. It was great having Albertsons close by as we stopped many times on our way back to the house. We enjoyed lunch at Bar 3 BBQ and dinner at Montana Ale Works in Bozeman. Would love to stay here again!

Glorious Mountain Views

Beautiful log cabin nestled in Livingston valley surrounded by majestic mountains. Wildlife and wild flowers can be seen from the cabin balcony. Awesome sunrises and breathtaking changes in weather. The cabin is very comfortable and well stocked. Adele was a very helpful and attentive host. Would highly recommend this property for family vacations. Easy access to Yellowstone, horseback riding, zip lining and whitewater rafting.

Loved the views

Loved the location, views, and layout. Unfortunately we were there during a winter storm and there were a few issues with the house but communication with the owner and caretaker was great.

Great place for family get together

The location is close to many conveniences, sites and activities. The home is spacious, clean and well maintained. We were able to spread out an still gather together in the evenings and for meals. There is a large table and what ever you may need for cooking just about anything. We truly enjoy our stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a great family vacation.

Fantastic Property - Great Mountain Views

We rented this property for my family of 10. We had more than ample space. It is well maintained and had all the things needed for our stay. It is secluded yet close to Livingston, which is quaint, cool town. Our host maintained great contact and was very helpful. I would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful week at a fantastic property!

If you want views this is the place! The house is located close to charming downtown Livingston and an easy drive to Bozeman! Everything you could want or need is at the home. It is beautiful and the perfect place for our week in beautiful Montana. Adele was such a wonderful host.

Wonderful stay

This was a wonderful property! It was located out in the country, where we had elk coming through the yard! On the other hand, we were only minutes from town. Everyone on the trip has said what a wonderful time they had. I would love to go back, and stay at this house again.

Family from East, West, and South

What an awesome trip. We had planned this vacation for over a year. It was everything and more than we expected. 2 days at Yellowstone, white water rafting, Chico Hot Springs. The home has everything you need. Very clean loved the layout. Morning sunrises and night sky’s from the deck are just beautiful. Fabulous log cabin

This is a wonderful place to stay! Listing is very accurate. Plenty of bedrooms. The bedding is very comfortable with excellent sheets, pillows and comforters. The towels are high quality. They provided basics like toilet paper, paper towels, coffee. Cleaning supplies were available. The view of this home is outstanding and I enjoyed sitting on the large porch at the view. Had resident deer visit the property daily and neighbors have horses on the property to the south and I really enjoyed watching them. Adele was very informative and made sure to check in at the beginning to make sure all was in order. She was a pleasure. This place is absolutely fantastic and was wonderful to stay in. We went to Yellowstone for 3 days. It was a very easy drive. Easy drive to grocery and downtown Livingston.

Montana peace

This home was so peaceful. On a mountain overlooking the town. Able to see the stars at night. We had deer come up in the yard. Adele was so easy to contact and quick to respond. Their home was clean and the kitchen stocked with everything you need but your groceries. Sugar, coffee, laundry detergent, dish liquid, trash bags. We all had such a peace within this home!!! Definitely will stay here again and it was such a pleasure staying in touch with Adele.

5 Star Home for exploring Yellowstone

Pictures do not do this home justice. Wonderful, solid comfortable home with large private sleeping areas for family and friends to have their private space. Large comfortable communal areas, kitchen, dining room, deck, basement billiards. Well equipped kitchen. We did a great deal of research on this trip prior to booking as it was a distance for us to get to the Yellowstone area. We are so thankful for the research that we did and hope this review helps you with travel plans. The town of Livingston is charming and a short car ride from this beautiful home for any provisions you may need. It is a 45 minute car ride to Yellowstone on a beautiful and easy to travel road. Bozeman is a 30 minute car ride away, but feels like a larger busier town, less charming then the quaint town of Livingston which has stellar shops and restaurants. The Natural Bridge is an easy car ride from Livingston and another beautiful waterfall to visit. Chico and Yellowstone hot springs are nearby and well worth a visit. Nearby hikes, Pine Creek, as an example, are well worth a visit. Adele’s amazing home, stellar communication throughout the stay, proximity to not only YNP, but other areas of interest, make this the perfect base camp for family and friends looking for an unrivaled experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mountain Experience

This was a great place for our group of 9 to stay. The living space was open and we could all be in the kitchen, dining area and living room at one time. We had a rainy day and were all able to be together, playing card games, eating or watching football and movies. The spa was greatly enjoyed by most of us. We saw a lot of mule deer around the house, which added to all the fun animal sightseeing we were already doing. The house is about 1 hour away from the Mammoth northern entrance into Yellowstone. We were there 3 days so the drive was good. We also explored Bozeman which is only about 40 minutes away. Our first day in Livingston, we were in town and enjoyed Pinky’s and the small shops. Also the grocery store Albertson’s and a gas station are conveniently at the bottom of the hill from the home. Added to that last statement, there’s 2 refrigerators in the house, which was convenient for overflow of groceries/leftovers/drinks. Everyone commented about how comfortable the beds and down comforters were. The only thing that was slightly frustrating were the shower heads. They made it difficult to shower in ease because of being short or not curving much. Finally, I started reading the book, Native, written by the owner. It’s a historical fiction about the Lakota tribe and about the surrounding territory. I was only 3 chapters in but I plan on purchasing it to finish it since it had drawn me in, within the first few pages. Great place to stay and visit. We would love to go back and would recommend it to anyone.

My family and I rented this place to go to Yellowstone and just see sights of Montana.

Adele was very great to work with. She gave me a list of things to do in Livingston and around the area. She also gave me a list of all the utensils in the kitchen. It was the best VRBO renting experience we have had. There was plenty of room for all 11 of us. The view was gorgeous. We were sad to go. Adele always responded quickly to any email I sent. She was great to work with. Even though the North entrance into Yellowstone is closed driving to the West entrance to enter was not a bad drive and the drive to the entrance is a beautiful drive. I would recommend this property and Adele to anyone.
