Excellent hosts- especially Zefie and Lea - who make you feel very welcome.
Rooms are basic but comfortable - which is reflected in the star rating/room rate, they are spotlessly cleaned everyday and have everything you need including air conditioning (included in the price).
Pool was great - especially with an ice cold Mythos from the pool bar!

"I stayed at Barefoot Contessa in mid-June 2025. I was holidaying as a solo traveller which I have only done a few times before and so was very anxious leading up to the trip. I needn’t have worried as I had an amazing week. The resort/village and apartments were both fantastic and the staff at Barefoot Contessa/Hemingways were always really friendly and helpful: Dimitra, Olga and Spiros and co.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sami Beach Hotel. We’d booked 3 nights at the hotel but ended up staying for 10 nights as we were massively let down by the villa owner on the day of arrival in Kefalonia (we’d booked 5 months prior). "Great experience, stayed in the Perla suite. Kind & helpful staff. Room cleaned daily-staff was willing to come back when we hadn’t left yet. Good location to explore the island. Well equipped kitchen for whatever your cooking needs sans an oven. Close to Sami for restaurants, shopping, ferry, & Antisamos. Local tavernas good with lovely staff as well. "
"Wir waren als Familie mit Kindern im Sunrise Inn Hotel auf der wunderschönen Insel Kefalonia. Das Hotel hat griechischen Charme, das Frühstück war vielfältig und die Lage war gut um die Insel zu erkunden. Wir hatten ein eigenes kleines Häuschen am Pool. Unsere Jungs konnten jeden Tag kostenlos Tennis spielen inkl. Schlägerverleih. Wirklich toll! Der Pool war auch schön mit Plätzen zum Sitzen und Liegen im Schatten.
