Steps away from the beautiful Kootenai River; Timber River Guest House.

Timber River Guest House offers gorgeous views of the Kootenai River and the surrounding mountains, plus all the amenities of an upscale hotel, but with more flexibility. Our family friendly accommodations offer three deluxe bedrooms and two bathrooms, which easily sleeps six. For an additional fee, we also offer an additional queen Murphy bed for a maximum occupancy of 8 persons. So whether you are looking for a romantic get-a-way for two, a friends trip or a family vacation, we have something to fit your needs.

This property is not a shared space, although there is a shared main entrance to the owner's second home. If the owner is to be on-site for maintenance purposes during your stay it will be disclosed in advance.

Guest accommodations include a fully stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, and a game room with a 65" TV (Dish Network), pool table, and a large variety of cards and board games. Additionally, guest have access to a riverside gas grill and fire pit.

Located just 7 miles from Libby, Timber River Guest House is centrally located so you can easily enjoy tours and activities at the Libby Dam, disc golf, fly fishing, floating the river, hiking and biking, plus all the amenities and restaurants that Libby has to offer. Floating or kayaking from Timber River to town takes about 2 hours and is a guest favorite, as is eagle watching from our patio. Kootenai Falls and the Swinging Bridge are a short drive away, while golf and downhill/cross country skiing are seasonally available.

Excellent stay on the water!

We were in Libby for our sons wedding and couldnt have been happier with Timber River house. It was perfect. We loved watching the eagle soar and had a blast fishing. It was the best vacation ever.
Sitting on the back patio was our favorite!

The guesthouse was perfect for a weekend away together. It was very clean and very welcoming with lots of fun touches that made it unique. We cooked meals out on the patio and spent a lot of time enjoying the peaceful river view. Five stars on the house and the setting!!

Somewhere in the Middle of Montana

The million dollar view brought us absolute peace and heart filled joy. We sat and enjoyed watching the Kootenai River flow by while Bald Eagles soared through the canyon. The river at our doorstep was just what our family needed. Our adult children fished the day away and were in heaven. This is a perfect vacation spot for a family. We enjoyed the long days as the sun doesn’t set until around 11pm. We often ate outside and spent many hours on the back porch. We had to plenty of time to explore and relax. The space was comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. The only awkward part was that you have to pass through the bedrooms to gain access to either bathroom. That is fine for a close family but took a little getting used to. The home was stocked with games and the pool table provided good laughs and entertainment. Overall, I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone who wants to relax and unwind in beautiful Libby, Montana.

Nicest VRBO we’ve ever stayed in!!!

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The space was well laid out with basically two masters on opposite sides of the home. The furniture, bedding, fixtures, and extras were all top quality and the pool table was a bonus. The whole property was spotless and clean. We LOVED the our door fire table and enjoyed watching the bald eagles across the river. Woods highly recommend this property!!

Montana Visit to the Timber River Guest House

W had never been to Montana. We had planned this trip to visit our son, who recently relocated to Libby. This property, its location on the Kootenai River, and the host’s responsiveness all exceeded our expectations. The host has thought of every little detail and convenience to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. We will stay here next time we visit (hope it is available)!

Family wedding

I absolutely loved our stay at this riverfront property. The location was perfect for my sons who enjoyed fishing every chance they got. Linda, the host, was incredibly thoughtful, providing snacks and water upon our arrival. The layout of the house was ideal for our family, with bunk beds for the boys and separate quarters for my parents, ensuring everyone had their own space. Linda and her husband were delightful and always available to offer recommendations or assistance. My son even received some valuable fishing tips from Linda's husband. The cleanliness and comfort of the property exceeded our expectations, especially knowing that all bedding and blankets were washed between guests. We would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Wonderful Tiber River Country Get a way!

Beautiful property. One of the best appointed properties I’ve rented. From the wonderful linens to the pool table to the gas grill to the efficient kitchen to the corn hole game riverside, it had everything! Super clean and the host was so gracious.

Best Vacation Ever

What can I say about this home and the managers that haven't already been said. They set the high mark and are absolutely the best of the best when it comes to communication and hospitality. The house is spectacular and the location, amazing. We could have used a few more days and definitely plan to make several more visits. Honestly I wish all VRBO homes were like this. Perfection at it's very best.

Hidden gem

Absolutely gorgeous view just a few feet from the river. Our family of 7 all loved the property and especially the back patio. The owners were very accomodating and friendly and helped answer and suggest items on our to do list while visiting Libby. We'll be back!

Sister’s retreat

3 nights and 2 days in August 2023

Our family of 5 and 2 grandparents stayed at house and enjoyed our stay (look for the big green metal roof off of MT-37). There was one neighbor to the right who kept to himself and another person on the left who seemed to be house sitting in the evenings, but other than that, we had complete privacy. The kitchen had a stovetop with oven, drip coffee maker w filters (and even some ground coffee if you forgot to bring your own), a microwave, plenty of dishes and glasses (wine and regular) and a washer and dryer. The living room had a pool table, large smart TV (we were able to login to our Netflix and watch a movie on the last night), some games and a piece of furniture that unfolded into a Murphy bed (my 16 year old son slept there. There was a sliding door to the kitchen so that I could get some coffee and breakfast without bothering him too much. Off of the living room was a long narrow room with two built in bunks at the end (my other two kids slept there - 18 and 21). Next to the bunks there was a door leading to a very nice master bedroom with a sitting area, a king size bed, a modern bathroom, and a large sliding glass door over looking the Kootenai river. The back porch had plenty of seating, a nice grill and spanned the length of the house. This was a perfect spot to hang out by the river. There was also a separate guest room on the other side of the kitchen with its own bathroom for my parents. There were no kayaks because of insurance reasons. We had a great stay!

We travel a lot for work and stay in a lot of VRBOs. This was hands down the best!! Perfect distance from town, amazing beds, perfectly outfitted, gorgeous, so inviting and comfortable we could have stayed forever! Felt like a resort!

Over the Top!

Honestly, there was no detail missed! This owner was amazing, and everything was exactly as listed. The view is breathtaking, the location perfect, and the amenities were top notch. The only thing that would have made this better, is if we had more time here! I highly recommend this location if staying in Libby, MT!

The Family Trip

We had a wonderful time! I highly recommend staying here! We had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for letting us purchase/rent the second part of the house. I thought it was all included, my mistake but we were able to get the other room and bathroom for a minimal fee. We saw so many animals from our porch area, Elk, deer, eagles, turkeys up the street. Everyone was so friendly. I didn't want to leave. I am hoping to come back to Montana every year!

Libby Luxury

Great location beside the tranquil Kootenay River. Wonderful waking up next to nature - neighbors were bald eagles and the odd elk that would come to the river for a drink. Spotless and homey place to relax for a week. Would suggest more plates and glassware for guests as 4 dinner plates are just not enough. As well we were disappointed that the kayaks weren't available for use dispite the river being safe enough for kayaking - as evidenced by others going down it on a SUP with a dog lying on the back. Countless other people enjoying the river an various kayaks as well. We really missed out not being able to use the river as that was advertised as one of the perks. Would have been nice to have a dishwasher and blender - but I was able to improve my washing skills! Overall a very good experience. Comfortable beds made for good sleeps. Great communication with the owners - very punctual.
