A short drive takes you to ancient Sherborne with its lovely abbey and castle, and boasts a wealth of fascinating shops to explore. Alternatively, Thomas Hardy’s Dorchester, Montecute House, Forde Abbey and Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum are all easily accessible.
