Great stay. Thank you to Joy for her help and making such a great overnight stay for my fiancés 30th bday. Photos did not do the property justice it was so spacious including the ground floor balcony. We will be coming back and can’t wait. The food was great and so was the breakfast & pancakes!! The suites need more photos of the outside and the whole property could do with more signage it’s easy to get lost there are some signs but they’re not clear so we got lost a few times. If you’re considering booking you won’t be disappointed

Pros: Lovely room High quality accomodation Friendly staff at check in and in the health centre Cons: The balcony area could of been cleaned ready for our arrival -bird poo and cob webs everywhere. There was no mirror in the room apart from in the bathroom cabinet, therefore very difficult to dry and do my hair. Would really benefit from having a long mirror next to a plug point. The drinks and food at dinner took a very long time to arrive. The food was delicious but took a long time. No acknowledgement or reply when I told them we were staying for my husband's 40th birthday. Some. Acknowledgement would of been nice.

First time visiting here, even though we only live a shortish distance away. Can't believe we haven't been there before! Such friendly helpful staff. The room was immaculate, quiet and comfy. Breakfast was also delicious. We will definitely return, as we want to try the Spa facilities.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lakes. It’s such a beautiful setting with so many activities on offer including a spa. We ate in the restaurant and it really is an experience- the food and service were outstanding. Bedrooms are beautiful - decor and furnishings. Guest services were very helpful both prior to arrival and on the day. We we definitely be back!

Britain’s best kept secret

This was the most beautiful staycation we have ever had and everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. The kitchen had all the facilities and the decor was amazing. I couldn’t fault this place even if I tried.

A lovely 2 day break at the lakes, so peaceful and relaxing. Spa is great too and we pretty much had it to ourselves most of the time. Food in the tipi was also great, would have liked to have seen some more sweet breakfast and healthy options though. It would also be great if there was an on-site shop to buy any groceries/essentials to save having to drive elsewhere.

Great Room and Customer Service

Check in was very good and the assistant showed us to our room - great customer service and friendly. Room was lovely - spacious and with a balcony. Bathroom spotlessly clean as was the rest of the room. Plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk available. Overall an excellent stay, will certainly stay again.

Lovely stay, super clean and nicely decorated. spa area was amazing when empty. This is a great location when wanting to adventure into the Cotswolds The hotel itself doesn’t feel like a hotel, it doesn’t quite know what it is the hotel facilities feel like a last min add on and there is a constant awareness of properties / apartments being sold. The grounds and properties are still being developed and you can’t walk closely to the lakes around mostly due to the private property’s so you end up walking around the back of buildings With regard to activities they are limited to book (though we did go in feb) you have to have a min number to do some of these which is not great for couples I wouldn’t not describe the room as superior it’s fairly small and has the basics of just a kettle with tea and coffee. The balcony is shared meaning the people next door could have the ability to walk up to you bedroom door and bathroom window. Overall it was a lovely stay and really enjoyed ourselves though would of expected a bit more for the price.

If you want a couple’s weekend in a suite, avoid The Lakes by Yoo. It’s eye-wateringly expensive with serious flaws, despite a few highlights. Yes, the fit and finish are high-end—furnishings, appliances, bathrooms, deck furniture—and the welcome pack and arrival impress. The site’s architecture, including the spa, is exquisite. That’s where praise ends. Our ground-floor suite sat in an apartment block. Its entrance opens onto a tiny corridor shared with two hotel rooms. Those rooms have solid doors; the suite doesn’t. Gaps around the frame let you see the corridor from the living space, so noise floods in and privacy vanishes. A stranger even walked into our suite, apologized, and fled—unsettling and hardly secure. Service felt off throughout. In the restaurant, staff were slow to greet us, the tent was cold, and small plates and salads were below gastropub level. Staff focused on packing down rather than guests. The spa looks great but execution wobbles: we booked the same treatment and got different focus areas; the pool zone was stiflingly hot. Overall, it feels like a stunning residential development trying—and failing—to bolt on a hotel. Almost nothing is included; even firewood and a high chair cost extra. Activities are absurdly priced. Cheaper hotel rooms don’t face the lakes, so why visit a lake resort with no lake view? I can’t recommend it—not for a suite, nor a day at the restaurant or spa. Many Cotswolds alternatives offer better quality, service and value.

However the moment we checked in we went to the spa where the cryotherapy was broken and we couldn’t order any refreshments as the lady said she couldn’t leave her post. We waited for over an hour and half for dinner and there was no advice on things to do on activities.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Lakes by Yoo. Everything was clean and well designed and the pool and spa facilities were good. Most importantly the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There was a minor issue with our original room so they kindly upgraded us to a suite for our final night, which we weren't able to stay in as we had to leave due to a family emergency, but the gesture was greatly appreciated. We hope to visit again in the future!
