Sunset Ridge Cabin

This NEW construction one level cabin is appropriately named Sunset Ridge. The view from the entire property but especially the deck is incredible. If you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods but yet 5 miles away from Lead/Deadwood, this cabin is for you. There are limited houses on our road with acres and acres in between. The only house in view is the Main House but still far enough away for you to have total privacy.

This beautiful cabin was designed with comfort in mind. No expense was spared in construction or decorating. You will feel like a pioneer in the cabin but with all the modern day amenities. There is a wood fireplace for you to snuggle up next to on those chilly nights. We will provide some firewood to get you started. Additional firewood bundles may be purchased at the grocery store. The kitchen boasts a large island so you won't be cramped on space while preparing food. High end appliances finish off the kitchen area. Any type of kitchen gadget you can think of is included in this kitchen. There are two wonderfully sized bedrooms both including their own ensuite bathrooms. Washer and dryer is available as well for you to use and soap is provided. The living area has a smart TV for streaming all your favorite movies. Board games are also there for your enjoyment. The entire North, South and West sides of this cabin is windows. Like I said, the views are stunning. The west side opens onto the deck. This is large enough for all your gatherings. There is a BBQ grill for you to use as well as patio furniture. This will definitely be the favorite spot of the house.

Parking is not a problem for those bringing trailers with ATV/snowmobiles. You can ride directly from this cabin onto the neighboring off road trails. The Mickelson Trail is a short distance from the cabin if you enjoy hiking and biking. There is a heated 2 car garage for you to use. You have an incredible view of Terry Peak Ski Resort which is a few short miles away.

There are acres and acres available for exploring. You will see plenty of wildlife including: Elk, deer, turkeys, mountain lions (be aware of your surroundings), squirrels, coyotes, etc. Please note there is NO HUNTING on our property.

There is approx 5 miles of well maintained gravel roads to get to our cabin. If snow is expected before or during your stay, 4x4 or AWD vehicles are necessary.

No campers, tents or outdoor fires are allowed. No indoor smoking, pets or parties. There is a $500 fine for violations. Security cameras are located outside the home for added security.

We had decided we needed a quick vacation out of the hustle and bustle of the city and work. Sunset Ridge fit the bill. Hester was a great host, the cabin was clean and cozy. The trek up to the cabin is definitely out of the way but the gravel roads are well maintained. I wish it had been warmer so we could have used the fabulous deck more, but that's October in SD! Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Views! Cute cabin!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sunset Ridge! The cabin and landscape are beautiful! The host was very helpful and answered questions quickly. One thing that was a bummer after we booked is that VRBO showed the location being 0.1 miles away from the main road and it was actually 5ish miles up a gravel road. Not a big deal had we not been on a motorcycle, but luckily the weather cooperates and it was still worth the trek.

Great views!

We loved our stay at Sunset Ridge! The views were amazing! The house/cabin was so homey and well laid out. We had everything we wanted and more. The patio was a nightly gathering spot to spend family time and enjoy the beautiful views. Thanks to hosts for the prompt communication too. Would definitely recommend.

We were a might nervous finding the property mainly because our GPS took us up the low maintenance road but we did find it and were very impressed. We will be back.

Very peaceful relaxing. Close to Lead Deadwood short drive to Rapid city. Very clean. It had everything we needed. We really enjoy the outside porch the view!! We saw deer and turkeys crossing the road every night. A deer came right up next to the house. I really liked having our own bathroom off the bedroom. Beautiful setup.

Absolutely gorgeous!

The cabin was clean and kitchen had everything we needed to eat meals in. The view from the deck was amazing and we spent mornings and evenings there watching and listening to wildlife.We would definitely stay here again

We loved our week stay at Sunset Ridge. We found the cabin to be very clean and it had all of the essentials we needed. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, so it was convenient for two couples to stay and have their own privacy. We especially loved the covered deck and the access to the garage to park our UTVs. The driveway was an incline but we had no trouble getting our truck and enclosed trailer parked. We rode our SxSs several days, taking in sights such as Spearfish Canyon and the peaks of Custer, Cement Ridge and Terry. Also, Mt. Rushmore and the Visitor(Sanford Lab) Center in Lead are a must see. We even met Hester at her pottery booth in Deadwood during Wild Bill Days! She made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay at this property if we travel to this area again!!

Sunset Ridge

The property was great. The setting was awesome. Very clean and well stocked kitchen with all we needed to cook. We came out to ride side x side on trails and enjoyed the area. Went to MT Rushmore and a few other sites. Beautiful area. Definitely will be back.

Lived up to name

We loved sitting on deck in morning with coffee listening to the turkeys gobble and in the evening watching the sunset and listening to turkeys. We saw a deer one morning. The kitchen was fully equipped. Wish it had been cooler for fireplace. Would definitely recommend this property and would come back.
