With snow and ice adding a touch of winter charm, we recommend guests come prepared. Opt for a high-clearance 4WD vehicle or equip your ride with light tire chains for added traction. Please note that the gravel road leading to the cabin is not suitable for motorcycles, but it ensures the seclusion and serenity of your stay.

We would have given this an overall 5 star rating if not for the very bad cluster fly problem. We won't elaborate, as it's been addressed in a number of previous reviews. The owner is aware and seems to be trying to resolve the problem. It did, however, get worse each day and affected the overall enjoyment of our stay.That being said, the owner is very kind, responsive, and accommodating. We absolutely loved the cabin. It's very quiet and peaceful, and well-appointed. Many amenities and attention to detail. Great kitchen with everything you need, comfy couches and bed. Time spent on the wrap around deck is soothing for the soul.As advised by the owner in the check-in instructions, the smell of the well water is very off-putting. Very glad we brought our own drinking water!

Exactly what we wanted for the weekend. Pet friendly, quiet, fantastic outdoor space and had anything we could have needed. Stairs inside the cabin were too tricky for the dog, but the host was great and told us all of that in advance. The stairs did not hinder how awesome this cabin was and it is very well maintained. Would 100% stay again!

Marvelos trip

Beautuful natural surroundings. The cabin was outstanding. Very comfortable and clean with a large kitchen. It had a gorgeous wrap around deck with a stunning view. We can't wait to come back.

It was such a beautiful space. I loved the views, the fire pit, the seclusion. THE DECK is gorgeous, we were able to hang outside no matter the weather. Extremely comfortable. The kitchen was easy to figure out, and the lighting at night is really easy going. You can see the stars when the sky is clear. It was honestly perfect. Nothing beats the view and the privacy.Couple things:The staircase is definitely treacherous. We left a light on at night in case anyone had to go back down, and I’m glad we did. It’s really easy to trip and/or fall. You really are 15-20 minutes away from a main road, and there are basically two grocery stores, so make sure you pack accordingly to maximize your time.I’m sure it all depends on time of year, but the flies and bugs were a-plenty on our first few days before a rain cooled things down and made them less of a nuisance. Be mindful.

Beautiful Mountain top cabin

This place was well described, from the cabin, to the stairs, the driveway, and the fire pit. Would definitely recommend! Quiet, peaceful, clean, and lovely. I would like to come back someday. I can see why the guest book has repeat visitors. The stairs are interesting, but manageable if you’re pretty mobile and not disabled. And be careful when standing in bedrooms, beams are a little close if your a taller person:)

Fabulous!

This property was fantastic! It was a real nature retreat, we did not hear any traffic, only birds and nature. A few mornings I saw deer on the property, and so many birds! The peace was exactly what we had hoped for. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and relax. We will definitely be back!

2nd Year with Amazing Privacy

The hosts recently updated an already spacious log home. It is a quiet hideaway with virtually zero traffic. This has been our 2nd spring trip there and it was even better than last year with the updated. Great rental!

Absolutely awful

This was the worst property we have stayed at this year! Place is infested with flies, dead flies everywhere, we were sitting on the couch and dead flies were literally falling down from the ceiling on us! I have never seen so many flies in all my life, it was horrendous. We were both stung by Yellowjackets, my hand swelled up to double the size, infested with those too! Place is unbelievably dirty, water is disgusting, smells so bad. It says there’s a gas grill, no, there’s a blackstone, and a charcoal grill, not an actual gas grill. For the price I paid to stay here, I expect something decent at least.

Do not recommend...read recent reviews, we didn't and wished we would have

Beautiful views but zero pride of ownership and horrendous customer service. Owner e-mails agreements then doesn't abide by them and them, then tried to get more money from us after the fact. This could be an amazing property if not for an animal living in the roof making it impossble to sleep, vertigo from the fun house floors, rancid meat smell throught the cabin, dead fly carcasses everywhere, bath scum on shower walls, laundry left in the dryer, broken floor joists under deck, 6ft weeds around entire cabin, and so much more. We have stayed in over a dozen places with VRBO and this is my first bad review.

Great Home Base

This cabin served as an excellent home base for our Black Hills vacation. It's about 20 minutes from Lead/Deadwood, both cool little mountain towns

Stay in Cabin 5miles out of Deadwood

The location was great, very remote and quiet. The cabin was okay but the guest bathroom in the upstairs bedroom is locked and kept for owners own use, so we had to use the bathroom in the downstairs utility room, which was not good at night because the stairs are very steep and you need a light on to use them which wakes up your partner. Out side was a bit neglected and needs some care and attention. However we enjoyed our stay but would look for a different cabin next time we visit Deadwood.

The view and fire pit were key reasons for staying this far out of town. Well worth it. A bit disappointed with only one bathroom and no doors on bedrooms. This would have changed my decision. Otherwise, big props on no mosquitos!

Stress Free

We have a great time at the cabin. It felt like we were alone on thousands of acres which was so peaceful. The accommodations were as described except they did not mention they had a black stone grill, which we used for smash burgers. Great location for all the attractions but far away from the crowds. We highly recommend.

Perfect Mountain Top Stay

We loved this place! Kitchen was fully stocked with any itmes that we needed. It was sunny and welcoming. Our bed was super comfy and we were able to catch up on our roadtrip laundry. The best part was the firepit and mountain top view - FANTASTIC!

My family and I have stayed in many VRBO's, and this is probably the most well stocked place we stayed in if you are wanting to do any cooking or grilling. Clean, and pretty secluded.
