  • Nestled against a mountain side up a 4km lane that takes you deep into a secluded valley on the Beara Peninsula, you will find the cottage which is surrounded by waterfalls and stunning countryside with rolling hills to the east, and the Cork & Kerry mountains and the top of the Healy pass to the West. It is an Ideal retreat that offers a perfect mood space to detach from the hectic world we live in and collect your thoughts and relax, with a beautiful landscape that draws you in as you sit and watch the sun cast its shadows across the mountains. You really are at mother natures mercy here. There are stunning walks to be had straight from the front door as well as in the local area. If sightseeing is your bag then there are many places to visit, including the Ring of Beara with its deserted coves and small beaches that look out over panoramic coastal views, Dursey Island and the boat trips that take in Bull Rock, The Skellig Islands, The famous ring of Kerry, The popular towns of Kenmare and Killarney with its Jaunting cars and national park to name just a few.

The area was gorgeous! The pictures don’t do it justice. I highly recommend this place especially if you are looking for beautiful scenery. Jonathan was very friendly and gave us excellent places to see and/or eat at.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely little cottage. From the cottage you can walk up the surrounding hills where you get a beautiful view into the valley and out onto the ocean. Jonathan is a wonderful host who makes you feel right at home and provides you with lots of recommendations, including local pubs and activities in the area. The cottage is small but very cozy and it has a stunning view from the big living room window. Highly recommend!

My husband and I loved our stay. We were given detailed instructions by Jonathan of how to get to the cottage (which was very helpful because it’s quite off the grid) qand were greeted by him when we arrived. Jonathan lives right next door, which we found helpful if we needed any help with directions or had questions about the place. The view is stunning - truly took my breath away. Walking around the area was the best part of my 2 weeks in Ireland. Highly recommend this place, even if it’s just for the conversation with Jonathan alone. Thank you for everything, Jonathan!

The star of the lovely cottage is the scenery. After a drive down a long winding lane we were transported two hundred years into the past. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, sheep in small pastures with a river and waterfalls through it all. The cottage is simple and lovely. Jonathan, the host, Is one of the nicest people we've met, charming, funny and kind. The stay at the lovely cottage was the heart of our journey in Ireland.

It is hard to figure where you stay these days because you get the address just before going. So it was a bit of a surprise. A good surprise. The place is a tiny house, in the middle of nowhere with an amazing view. The river below is magnificent. The opportunities for walk are probably endless (we only had two nights). It was perfect to discover Ireland. Our host was very kind and helpful.

An absolutely breathtaking location as you are nestled in the Cork/Kerry mountains and need for nothing. Jonathan is an incredible host who makes your stay so special with knowledge and suggestions only a local person can possess. His friendliness and upbeat aura are infectious. The cottage is delightful, well crafted and cozy. A very clean and tidy space with plenty of amenities for cooking, lounging and relaxing. Our stay here was nothing short of amazing and bar none our favourite place in Ireland we have visited. The only thing to improve upon is our own planning skills as we wish we stayed longer than two nights!
