Charming Rural Farmhouse Cottage

  • Idyllic farmhouse annexe set in the beautiful rolling countryside of South Lanarkshire. Furnished with antiques, quality linens and toiletries, Ampherlaw Farmhouse is all about escaping from your busy lives. You'll feel so relaxed you won't want to leave! Snuggle up by the wood burning stove in fireside chairs and enjoy the views, or explore nearby Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Borders. The generously proportioned rooms include a huge bedroom, incorporating a wood burning stove (a basket of logs and coal are provided in the winter months) and sitting area with fireside chairs; the large ensuite bathroom has a bath, overhead and handheld showers and is equipped with robes and fluffy white towels. The dining room enjoys views over Tinto Hill (a lovely day out) and is furnished with antiques. French doors open onto the patio area where you may sit and enjoy a barbeque. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need for your stay. We even provide a welcome hamper of bread, butter, milk and biscuits along with tea, coffee and sugar.

This is an unbelievable property. Absolutely first-class from start to finish in a beautiful location that is a great base for access to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is in the cottage, all amenities are there. The hosts, Cass and Charlie, are just the best too. Can't recommend Ampherlaw Farmhouse enough.

Relaxing Luxurious Getaway disguised as a Rural Farmhouse

We lovd the beautiful countryside and the rural walks. Close to charming little towns and we also hiked the historic Clyde waterfalls. Our hosts were very lovely and accommodating, wish we could have gotten to know them more. Better than their humble photos portray.

Belated 25th Anniversary Trip Kickoff

Cass and Charlie’s stone cottage is a brilliant spot to day trip from that offers a quiet home nestled into incredible countryside.The cottage is roomy, beautifully appointed and amazing walks are right outside your door.Coffee in the morning in the courtyard and a stroll to say hello to the sheep, cows, horses, rabbits and pheasants were a smashing start to each day.We loved every minute with Cass and Charlie. We think you will too!

A wonderful holiday

We had one of our most wonderful holidays in Scotland in this beautiful cottage. The check-in process was smooth, and the hosts gave us such a warm welcome – they are truly lovely people. The house and the location are stunning – it’s a place where you immediately feel at home. After many day trips, it was always so nice to know that we could return to this cosy and charming cottage. We would love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Alles bestens für uns als 5-köpfige Familie. Ausreichend Platz, großer Wohn-Essraum mit ausreichend Stühlen mit einer großen und überdachten Terrasse in wirklich sehr ruhiger Lage.Die Küche ist sehr modern und bietet Alles was man so braucht um sich selbst zu versorgen.Kontakt zum Vermieter bestand auch bei Bedarf zügig/direkt.Sehr zu empfehlen.

Lovely, quiet place to relax

This is a very lovely little cottage. It is far enough away from town to feel peaceful, but close enough to make going into town easy. The folks in the nearest town of Carnwath were very pleasant and welcoming. The only issue we had was initially finding the right drive entrance, but that was more due to it already getting dark when we arrived. We highly recommend this place.

Beautiful Scotland

Beautifully appointed, everything you could wish for, Cass was very welcoming and although about half an hour from Edinburgh it was a pleasure to go out and have the cottage to return to and relax.

Incredible stay

The stay at Ampherlaw was just amazing. The farmhouse was spotlessly clean, had all amenities and heating. Every thought was given to our comfort and directions with check-in instructions were easy to follow. My partner and I would definitely stay again as the perfect retreat to the peaceful countryside.
