Private Beach just off Cape Cod

Located on one of Massachusetts’s largest recreational lakes, Long Pond, this is a perfect vacation destination. Your hardest decision will be whether to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets from the beach or the deck off the cottage. You can take a swim off your private beach or throw in a fishing line just steps away from your back door. Take a nap on the sun porch or sit back and watch the water planes fly by. Enjoy a waterside evening BBQ or a picnic lunch. If you fancy a kayak ride, you can do that too. Whatever your idea of a relaxing vacation is this beautiful cottage has it.

Located on a private road, the convenient South Eastern Mass position makes it a perfect spot for day trips. Cape Cod and Plymouth are just 30 minutes away and New Bedford is less than 15 minutes away. The Lakeville commuter rail stop makes historic Boston only an hour away, and Providence with all its fabulous restaurants is an easy 45 minute ride by car. Lakeville features easy access to the Provincetown ferry out of Plymouth, Woods Hole ferries to the islands and New Bedford ferries to the Cuttyhunk Island.

If shopping is more your cup of tea the Wrentham Outlets and Cape Cod Factory Outlet Malls are within a 30 minute drive and Antique Shops are scattered throughout the area.

For the golfers, Lakeville is home to five golf courses all within a 5 minute drive of the cottage.

The summer excitement and historic mansions of Newport, RI are within 30 minutes.

Not one of our best experiences with VRBO. I had to reach out to owner the day before arrival about how to enter the house since I hadn’t heard anything up to that point. She told me we could check in early, which was great. Checked in and went for groceries. Upon returning there were two other vehicles parked in driveway. Reached out to owner and she knew who they were and had them moved. Weird. The walk to the house is not fit for anyone impaired. Steep, rocky and uneven. On Sunday we realized there were no kayaks as stated in the ad UNTIL 3 young boys pulled up on the beach with them and pulled them into the yard! One boy told us that our rental shares with the house next door ? Not true, I assume. They just helped themselves. The outdoor gas grill was very dirty and the drip pan was almost full, yuck and fire hazard. The oven doesn’t go above 350*. There is no microwave as advertised but there is a toaster oven/air fryer. There is no third bedroom as advertised. The third bed is on the sun porch without a closing door. There is no ac in the second bedroom. The house ac is a floor unit that wasn’t functioning properly so we checked and cleaned the filter (see pic)The dryer wasn’t working well so we….yep filter clogged (see pic). Fire hazard. The Wi-Fi is ancient and will absolutely not support anyone trying to work while there. The location and private beach area was great. Owner needs to update and change ad.

Beautiful Location!

I would definitely return to this location! It’s a charming beach house with a gorgeous view and beach! All aspects of the stay from booking online, check in and check out went easily. The property manager was really great and a pleasure to talk to. Thank you, we enjoyed our time here!

Such a relaxing, quiet place with its own private beach. I had fun with visiting family, kayaking and just hanging out on the beach. The house was fully stocked and had everything I needed. Beds were comfortable. The host was responsive with any questions I had.

Great relaxing week to unwind

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful lakefront cottage hoping to relax and rewind. We got that and more. This place was impeccably clean and comfortable. Upon arriving, we immediately felt very relaxed. The private beachfront was literally steps away from the deck. The sunsets were gorgeous. We would highly recommend this lakefront cottage for anyone. Will definitely be back.

Love the location!

We've stayed at this cottage on 2 occasions, separated by about 3 years. We love it, especially the location on the watrerfront on Long Pond, the beach and the water toys. My wife and I grew up on Long Pond, so this is like coming hjome.

Another great stay in Lakeville!

We have rented multiple properties around this lake, and this is our new favorite. The little beach and view were worth the whole price. Quiet, clean, with everything you need. Helpful, responsive property manager, Lisa, was fantastic for even little questions. House is a bit small and dated (charming in my view), but just fine for our family of four. We will be back!

Nice setting w/ marginal accomodations

We loved the setting, with private beach, However the pictures on VRBO are not representative of household interiors. The household sulfur water stench was unbearable, which we understand from neighbors everyone who stays at this property complains about it as well. Additionally, there were issues with cable service which meant no internet, TV or wifi on first day. Eventually resolved on day 2. Also had to deal with inoperable lights in bathroom and dining room. It necessitated us working with cleaning lady on day 2 and staying put till problem was partially resolved,. It meant we did get out till afternoon that Friday. Never able to get lights on fan in dining room operational. Were told property maintenance man was away. Big divots in beds...way too soft. Cute cabin but needs TLC

Our lake vacation in Lakeville, MA

There were some difficulties inside the house which, for the most, were modified by the owner. The property was in a fantastic location, directly on a large lake where we swam and kayaked daily. There was a very nice deck and grill where we spent the evenings when we wern’t near the water.
