Welcome to A Little Bit O' Heaven!

This is a 3-year-old custom-built home, beautifully furnished and created for your family's memories. It is located in Catatoga Club, a private gated community in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina.


This home sits on Lake Catatoga with canoes, paddleboards, a dock, fishing, swimming, and hiking trails all available, along with numerous waterfalls within steps from our back porch. While fishing is prohibited in the creeks, it is welcomed in the lake behind our home. We do have a few poles but you might want to bring your own as they get damaged regularly.

You will also have access to the Catatoga swim and tennis facilities, and hot tub during the summer months. For those seeking a peaceful and scenic relaxing mountain retreat, you will find plenty to savor in this breathtaking community.

After a full day outdoors, you can come back for some ping pong, shuffleboard, Cornhole, or simply relax on your outdoor swing bed. For the evening, prepare dinner in our world-class kitchen or kick back and watch the game on one of the 70-inch smart TVs with Sonos surround sound. With only a 20-minute drive to Cashiers or Brevard and less than an hour to Highlands/Asheville, you will never run out of options for great hiking, biking, fishing, food, drink, and shopping!

-4 King size bedrooms with private bathrooms
-Bunk bedroom with double mattresses and a small trundle underneath. Daybed on the back porch can even sleep 2 more if needed. We also have an air mattress available upon request.

-Dining room table to seat 8 plus an island countertop that seats an additional 8

We absolutely loved staying at Little Bit of Heaven for a week! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The instructions from the owners for getting to the house were helpful because google maps did try to have us go the back entrance like they said. There is so much to do nearby and great restaurants. Fabulous family vacation home!

This was our second stay at A Little Bit o’Heaven and it won’t be our last! Our family loves this property. The house is spacious, clean, well stocked and absolutely beautiful. Perfect vacation home for a big family

We had the incredible opportunity of staying in Rick and Martha’s beautiful home over Thanksgiving. They went out of their way to make sure we knew everything about their home and the area before we arrived. In addition to being excellent communicators they made us feel like their home was our very own for the week - they thought of everything before our arrival! This home is completely stocked!! The bedding/linens are beautiful and everything was easy to use (TVs, fireplace, games, golf cart etc). The home is very clean and new! They had smores for us and spacious rooms for families! The property is beautiful with the lake and hikes to waterfalls super close by. We have been coming to a Toxaway for 40 years and have rented various homes, but Little Bit of Heaven was the very best! We can’t wait to go back!

Excellent Home

This home is located in a beautiful spot half way between Highlands and Brevard. As in all mountain locations, it takes time to get from one place to another, so expect that when you head to that area! The home was exactly as promised and great for a family who likes the outdoors. The Hosts were incredibly attentive and easy to work with throughout the booking process. You will definitely get what is promised!

Beautiful Home in Lake Toxaway area

The home is beautiful and well equipped. The location is south of Brevard, so a little far if you plan to spend much time in Ashville. The hot tub did not work and club house was not open. We would have loved a hot tub. The pool was pretty and in good shape, but extremely cold, which I didn’t expect. I didn’t realize that this area of SC is almost a rain forest. They can’t technically call it that, but you should be aware that there is rain quite often.. The Franks are extremely easy to work with and worked through any difficulties we might have had. We took full advantage of seeing the water falls and hiking. The location beautiful scenery.

Wonderful Stay in Beautiful Home

We had the most glorious stay. If I could give 100 stars, I would. This house is perfect in every way - Location, floor plan, flow, furnishings. You can feel it was built with love. My favorite spot was the swing on the bottom porch. It is a magical home and any future inhabitants are lucky. Don’t hesitate to book your stay at this house- you will love it and leave with many wonderful memories.

Wonderful Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Bit of Heaven. The home was well stocked and nicely decorated with comfortable amenities for our group of 7 adults and 1 small child. We had a wonderful time hiking to the two waterfalls that can be accessed from the property. We also enjoyed using the paddle boards and kayaks at the community dock next door. We took advantage of some of the owner’s restaurant recommendations and we were also very comfortable cooking in the lovely kitchen which had everything we needed. Wonderful stay and the owners were easy to communicate with.

Wonderful stay!

We loved our time at Rick and Martha’s beautiful home - the setting was lovely (gorgeous views) and the property was in a great location with a few easy hikes available right from the property itself. They had everything we could have needed in the kitchen and the bedrooms for our group of 11 adults and kids very well. The house itself is beautiful and very well done. We hope to visit again! Fantastic stay!

We had an outstanding Thanksgiving holiday at Lake Toxaway. The house is exactly as described -- comfortable beds, high-end finishes, and a fully stocked kitchen. Trails around the property are easy to find/follow for novice hikers. The house is also quite accessible for *most* wheelchair users (one bedroom on main/upper level, all others require stairs) as long as they can cross one small step to get in the house and one step to get into the shower on the main level. We built a little ramp out of firewood, which wasn't ideal but worked well enough. I offer this in case other folks have accessibility needs. Thanks so much to our terrific hosts - we loved staying in your beautiful home!

Our favorite place.

Our family of five has stayed in many vacation rental properties over the years in multiple locations throughout the South East, US. This was hands down the family favorite. The property was beautiful. It was clean and laid out so well. The surroundings were breath taking. It says a lot when adults, a teenager, an older child, and a kindergartener all leave a vacation saying the had the best time. We enjoyed hiking and adventuring around the neighborhood trails the most. We also loved coming back to a cozy environment with a peaceful view to watch movies at night. So perfect. We would love to visit this home again.

Girls Trip

We are seven lifelong friends who travel together every year. We had a fabulous time--coffee on the porch in the morning, cocktails in the evening. Lots of outdoor activities in between. August 2023 Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Little Bit O Heaven! We had 2 families of 4 and more then enough room. Loved the location at Catatoga Club - amenities were great and lots to do at the home which was a big plus. First 2 days we barley left the house! Fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking all out the back door. Also very accessible to Cashiers, Brevard, Sapphire, etc. Home is extremely well appointed, beautifully furnished and maintained. We are grateful the Franks shared this gem with us, we would love to come back!

An amazing property - we will return!!

We selected this property for a family reunion with my husband’s siblings and our children/grandchildren. It was perfect! We never had to leave - there was so much to do for family of all ages. From kayaking, fishing, hiking, waterfalls, swimming at the pool, fire pit, corn hole - honestly too much to list - there was something for everyone! We will return to this property!

Fantastic family vacation

This house is magnificent! Seriously jaw-dropping! Beautifully decorated, well manicured, has everything you need. The views are beautiful and the hiking -right off the back porch- is amazing! Lots of great hiking trails in the area as well as cute eating places. Spent lots of time in the kitchen and den area cooking, eating and playing games. Loved the corn hole and shuffleboard table. Family vacation with our adult kids and everyone had their own rooms and bathrooms! Great time! Want to come back in warmer weather!

Amazing Property!

My family just returned from a wonderful weekend at this awesome house. Our hosts (Frank and Martha) were simply the best. The house is located on a lovely mountain lake, and is immaculately maintained. They provide every amenity possible, and have anticipated even the most detailed needs (such as marshmallows for roasting). The kitchen is fully furnished with every cooking applicance imaginable. Outside is a special firepit (smoke is directed upward and away from people), and is complete with all the wood needed for memorable family evenings. The community center has a hot tub, sauna, and steamroom. I believe it also has a swimming pool, but the weather was a bit cool for swimming, so it was covered. The living area is huge, and is complete with a big screen TV and Sonos sound system. It just doesn't get any better than this!

PRO's: - House is lovely and comfortable, as described by previous reviewers - The grounds/property are also beautiful, with easily accessible trails and waterfalls. - Access to Gorges State Park and other fun areas nearby. CON's (Including communications with the host): - Three weeks before our trip, the Host, contacted us to advise that the pond in front of the home had been drained, so would not be usable for swimming, paddleboarding, or kayaking. Confirmed with Host that the pool would still be available. A week before our arrival Host said the pond was filling, but he was not sure what stage it would be at when we arrived, again we asked about the pool and were assured it would be available. When we arrived, pond was only a third full and the use of paddle boards and kayaks from the launch was not possible. Water views from the house were: drained pond with barren muddy areas where the water had receded. - When we arrived, we learned that the pool and clubhouse facilities were closed for the season. We contacted Rick who stated that he was "shocked" by facilities being closed. Facilities are only open during the prime summer months and close for the winter season, this was not disclosed. He offered to pay for swimming/racquet facilities in Brevard, a 25 min drive from the home. While we appreciated the offer, this was too far to take advantage of and enjoy regularly during our trip, so we would have to do without. -Since we would not have access to the pond or clubhouse/pool facilities as advertised, which was one of the primary reasons that we chose this rental, he offered to either refund our present stay or provide a free week's stay next summer. We felt this was a fair offer for the rental not having the advertised amenities available during our stay. We would not have to locate another rental through VRBO to continue our weeks' vacation. - We wrote a nice review of the place in the guest book for future guests, believing the refund offer stood. After arriving home, we contacted Rick to discuss the details of obtaining our promised refund. At this time, Rick advised that he would no longer be issuing a refund as promised at the start of our stay. He stated that because we had great weather and had written in the home's guest book that we had a nice time during our trip, he decided that a refund was no longer warranted. We tried hard to work with Rick to make the most of the situation, are disappointed by his response.
