Fairway Villa 0503 at Rumbling Bald

Sit on your front porch and watch golfers putting on the green of the first hole on Bald Mountain Golf Course.  Take time to lounge on the rear deck overlooking the picnic area and fishing pier on Bald Mountain Lake. This townhouse-style condo has two bedrooms, each with two queen beds and private baths; the upstairs bedroom has a private balcony overlooking the lake. The living room has oak floors, queen sleeper sofa, four armchairs, and TV with DVD player. The dining area has a maple dining table with eight chairs.  While you're here enjoy the bright kitchen with ceramic tile floor, electric range, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker. The condo also has a stack washer and dryer.  For your enjoyment, take a stroll and see the sights of the golf course or use the  amenities; they're within walking distance. 
CANCELLATIONS/TRANSFERS. Requests must be in writing and received by a Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure rental agent. In the event Tenant must cancel this reservation more than 45 day prior to arrival, Tenant shall receive a refund of all payments made, less a cancellation fee of $50.00. Cancellations that occur within 45 to 15 days prior to arrival will be charged a cancellation fee of 25% of the total reservation charges. Cancellations which occur within 14 days of arrival will be subject to a cancellation charge equal to the amount of the reservation. NO refunds will be given for early departures or unused portions of packages.

HOUSEKEEPING SUPPLIES: There is a one-two day starter supply of items such as coffee packets, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent (where appropriate), shampoo, and soap that has been supplied for your vacation rental. All towels, sheets, and linens are provided for the allowed occupancy number of each unit.  There is no housekeeping service provided during your stay. If you run out of any starter supplies, you many purchase these at Apple Valley Market or Ingles Grocery.

Disappointing

The entry code was invalid making it a bit difficult until front desk issued others to try. Interior very VERY dusty. Kitchen appeared neat & tidy but furniture was covered with dust. Under the stairwell large balls of dust. Mold/mildew in tub window, hall bath. Knobs missing from closet doors, bedroom lamp bulbs blown. Bedspreads torn and worn through.Pots/pans terribly scratched which could potentially be hazardous for cooking. A notification regarding the course and beach were closed would have been helpful as we intended to play Bald Mountain course. But we understand the storm devastation and were heartbroken. Probably will not stay in this unit again, but we love Rumbling Bald and will be back!

Terrible!

The condo was dirty. There were flying gnats everywhere. The kitchen faucet is not attached to the countertop and moves around. Upstairs the bedrooms were dated, dusty and dirty. The shower liners were covered in mold. The bathroom floors were dirty. The air conditioning unit is ancient and freezes one room while the other gets no cool air. It sounded like a jet plane taking off and was ridiculously loud. This condo should not be rented. We come every year to play in a ladies golf tournament and this is the absolute worst place we have stayed. Do Not Rent!

It was fine.

All was great. The fees were crazy and we will most likely not do this again. Crazy we had to be out by 10:00 but unable to check in till 4:00. Guess this is the way it is, and we will re-think and make room at our own house next time.

Clean but disappointing

The overall condo was clean and nicely appointed. The following is why it is rated 3 for cleanliness:In the master bedroom, one of the beds had not been changed and sheets had been slept in, the other bed had been made with wet sheets. Evidently housekeeping must wash sheets in condo and did not want to take the time to get them dried. There was no powder room in condo. The only bathrooms were on the second floor. Condo was not advertised as having one, it was an oversight on my part. The woman at check in did not check to see if the condo was ready. She automatically said come back at 4pm, even though we had received a text stating once on property stop and see if your rental may be ready early. We arrived at 2pm so were not extraordinarily early. In the condo, there were no instructions on the use of the three remotes as far as use of TV or DVR. Hoping this is useful information. Had housekeeping done a better job and the front desk been friendly and helpful the rating would be much higher. This is not a reflection on the rental property itself.
