A beautiful lake view cabin on Friends Lake

Friends Lake is a pristine jewel in the Adirondacks, exclusive with no public access appreciated for it's water sports and fishing. You can enjoy a private sandy beach shared with a small association of homeowners. The cottage is equipped with all the basics, along with cable TV and WiFi, you will need to bring your own beach towels. The camp has a large deck, picnic table, barbecue grill and fire pit making it the perfect place for your summer get away.

*Friends Lake is completely free of invasive species, and in order to keep it that way, we can not allow renters to bring/launch their own boats (this includes; Kayaks, Rowboats, Canoes, Motorized boats, paddleboats, etc.). Thank you for your understanding.* That being said there is a rowboat that is for your exclusive use during your stay, and the owner of the property has two kayaks that are for the exclusive use of guests (the kayaks are shared with one other property).

*Due to the size of the cabin, the owner asks that renters bring no more than 2 dogs*

Our vacation was one of the most relaxed and peaceful stay! Amanda was readily available for anything we needed! She even came the first night to show us where the rowboat was located. The area is beautiful and the cabin was small but comfortable.

A Short Stay

Arrived on a very hot day. The fans in the house did not cool things off very much. The neighbors let their dogs run loose. While I was walking my dog up the road, 2 dogs came running out of a driveway. One was on a lead, but directly in front of my dog barking. The other was loose, right behind my dog and barking. It took several seconds for the owner to appear and check out what her dogs were doing. No injuries, but frightening. We checked out after 2 days.

Family Vacation

Relaxing Vibe

Overall the cabin was great and as described. We enjoyed the lake, use of the kayaks, and sitting by the fire both inside and out. The pups enjoyed their time too. Amanda was great with information and answers to our questions. We had a hiccup from Mother Nature and Amanda was very communicative about it. Luckily for us, the power was turned on right before we arrived. Bed was comfortable. Shower is quite small especially for women who need to shave. Cell reception and wifi wasn’t the greatest. However, aside from finding our way around, we enjoyed a break from technology. It was a great get away. We would stay there again.

Review of our stay overall great

Everything was great people who came to talk to us about ourstay were great only things were just to help maybe other people let them know the garbage day pick up so you can put garbage out when they r going to pick it up before the end of your stay ..saw them picking it up in the middle of our stay felt bad would have put some of our garbage out then just so they could pick it up then not major but just a suggestion on your notes to add there and then just with not having screens on the windows in the living room maybe just have another bigger fan to help cool it down it got really really hot only opening the frontdoor bd kichen window abd bedrooms it got almost unbarrable maybe another big fan would help but overall had a great experience loved the place and people and definitely would stay there again...

Relaxing in the woods. . .

My friend and I had a wonderful relaxing week in the woods. The cottage was clean and cozy. Someone was there to meet me when I arrived to be sure I had everything I needed. It was quit chilly this week, but we used the little space heater to keep warm. There is a big wood stove, but we didn’t use it. We love kayaking everyday and exploring fun things to do in the area. The lake is so beautiful and clear for swimming and kayaking, and no one was using the shared beach, but us! We loved rail biking on the railroad track in North Creek - Revolution Rail! Fun! It was a perfect week. . . Thank you!

Lovely, clean place with friendly, warm, responsive owners. Appreciated their coming down & showing us “the lay of the land.” Particularly appreciated use of kayaks & rowboat & easy access to a sweet, clean lake. Wonderful relaxing holiday

This is the 2nd year we have had a vacation in this area. This year we opted for the slightly larger cabin and appreciated the additional room. The cabin is clean and had everything we needed....including a heater for the chilly mornings. We will most likely make reservations to stay again.

from the start was met and got a little tour of where the boat was located and how to get there was shown where everything was ,,it was very helpfull,,the camp the boat the lake the outdoor fire pit all was very nice,,,really enjoyed staying there would recomend the place to anyone

2nd Timers at this Perfect Lakeside Cottage

Thanks again to Amanda and Dan for a wonderful stay. This was our 2nd year staying in this cottage with our 2 Basset Hounds. Thanks to the weather cooperating, we got 3 perfect days to lounge at the little beach, kayak, and fish. Such a relaxing and beautiful spot. Read my review from Sept 2022 for more details on what your experience will be at this cottage. We can't wait to return next summer!

Adirondack Family time

We throughly enjoyed our week at the Lake in the cozy cabin. My husband, daughter and her friend had a great time on the lake in the kayaks and row boats fishing and just exploring the beauty of Friends Lake.

A little slice of heaven

Great cottage on a beautiful lake. We enjoyed the canoe, kayaks, and rowboat. We caught a monster largemouth bass in about 2 feet of water off the dock. Swam. And used the location as a great jumping off point for multiple Adirondack hikes. Couldn’t have asked for more as this place was clean, homey, and had plenty of room for our small family.

Fantastic stay!

I am very pleased and so happy I stayed here. The lake is beautiful and so clean. The area is rural and quiet. Everything you would wish for in a vacation home. Everything was just as advertised. I spent a wonderful week at friends lake with family stopping bye and I got to bring my dog. What more could I ask for?clean cozy all together fabulous. We will definitely be staying here again.

Very nice

Great vacation. I didn't want to leave. If you're looking for a quiet getaway..this is your place. We enjoyed a drink at the lake each evening with our pups. Fire pit was an absolute plus. House was clean and had everything we needed. Amanda and Dan were amazing host.

Nice place.

It is a short walk down to the lake with only a minor grade. The rowboat was for my exclusive use, always docked. If I was to revisit the immediate area I could stay here again. It was nice that firewood for indoor use and outdoor use was both provided. Cleanliness of inside was exceptional.

Ideal Lake Experience in the Adirondacks

My husband, our 2 Basset Hounds and I had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage. Just as described, the lake is a short walk and the beach area is great for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. Having the rowboat and kayaks was nice as we used both to explore the lake. The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us. The dogs loved laying on the deck and watching the squirrels and chipmunks scurrying in the pine trees all around. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. for cooking (which we did all but 2 nights). Great restaurant in Chestertown called The Bullhouse (had vegetarian options too), which is a 9 minute drive. Friday we got takeout pizza from The Pizza Shop in Warrensburg and it was great (17 minute drive). Comfortable couches and queen bed (didn't use the other beds in the 2nd bedroom). Fans and heaters available depending on the temperature swings. It didn't get cold enough to use the wood burning stove inside, but was a beautiful feature that added to the ambiance of the cottage. Fire pit was a nice addition and plenty of cut wood to use. Very clean upon arrival and Dan met us to give a tour of the cottage and beach area. There is no outdoor hose or shower, so I did sweep a few times during the week as we inadvertently tracked sand and pine needles into the cottage. Vacuum, broom and dust pan available in the closets. Seemed like a mix of people that were renting cottages and people that own and stay for the season. Lots of friendly dogs and people in the neighborhood. Overall a fabulous location and cottage and we are grateful to have found this place. We definitely will rent next year! Thank you to Amanda and Dan!
