Unwind at the Swallows rest - a beautiful home just 2 minutes walk from the Meia Praia sands.

Self catering doesn't mean you should compromise on quality, and this beach house proudly reflects our ethos.

The property is spacious and well appointed, providing guests with modern holiday living and the perfect base from which to explore all Lagos has to offer.
The home has a fresh, 'beachy' vibe and is well maintained with regular upgrades to ensure excellent standards for all our guests. New for 2022 is an an Alexa doorbell and 'show' device for your safety and convenience, Super fast & free WI-FI, Smart TV's in lounge and bedrooms and top spec. appliances throughout to ensure a comfortable stay.

The kitchen is well equipped, smart and functional. The large lounge-diner is perfect for relaxing, with a large smart TV and access to over 200 channels including free Netflix, there's something for everyone's tastes.

Soak up the sun on the upper terrace where you can enjoy magnificent ocean views. From here you can see one of the Algarve's longest beaches, Meia Praia. This beautiful wide, sandy, blue flag beach spans over 4.5 km from Lagos town to Ria Alvor.

Located on the ground floor, is the large air-conditioned master bedroom with King size bed and an airy second bedroom with twin beds. Both bedrooms can accommodate 2 guests comfortably.

A second large terrace off the master bedroom provides a peaceful and secluded garden patio area in which to sunbathe, with a partial sea view.

A new bathroom, added in May 2022 continues the beach house theme, with luxury porcelain tiles, a modern walk-in multi jet shower and high end fittings throughout.

Outside, the property is situated in a complex with traditional Portuguese architecture, where the whitewashed walls and chimneys pay homage to a Moorish influence. Within easy walking distance of Lagos marina, town, supermarket, restaurants, bars, water sports, fishing, golf courses, tree climbing, historical sites and just a stone’s throw from the famous Meia Praia beach - there are an array of activities on offer nearby.

A car is recommended to explore the Algarve, but not essential as there are good transport links right outside the property. Timetables can be found in the comprehensive 'Guest information' book, along with ideas for days out, eateries and other valuable information to make your stay a memorable one. At the Swallow's rest, you can tailor make your holiday to be as action packed or relaxing as you like...

Belles vacances en Algarve !

Un séjour très agréable dans un lieu magnifique et hébergés dans un superbe appartement avec une vue imprenable sur l'océan. Neuf, moderne, tout équipé, rien à dire de négatif ! De superbes vacances comme on les avait imaginées.

Sehr schön mit kleinen Mängeln

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr schön, die Lage ist perfekt. Leider war die Reinigung nicht ganz so doll. Es standen noch Reinigungsgeräte herum und Terrasse und Balkon waren überhaupt nicht gereinigt. Das war nicht so schön. Das kleine Waschbecken im Bad ist eigentlich unbrauchbar - das reicht gerade mal zum Zähne putzen. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist gut (alles von IKEA) und vollständig. Der netflix Account hat leider nicht funktioniert.

Prachtig appartement

Prachtig uitzicht, dicht bij mooi strand, 20 minuten lopen van strand. Rustig gelegen, geheel gerenoveerd, alle faciliteiten aanwezig, warm onthaal. Hebben een geweldige week gehad.

Great base for our one week stop

We only had time for a one week stay in Lagos this year rather than our normal two, so we had a full agenda planned of things we wanted to go and see and do. Consequently, we were out from dawn until dusk nearly every day and all we really needed was somewhere comfortable to eat, unwind and sleep at the end of each day. This apartment more than fits the bill. On arrival at Faro airport, we contacted property manager Denise to see if we could check-in early, nothing was a problem for her and she met us at the apartment at relatively short notice; she was equally prompt for our early (7am) check-out on our departure day which was much appreciated. Denise was friendly, welcoming and always very swift to respond via WhatsApp when making arrangements with us before our arrival. Onto the apartment itself: The upper terrace has wonderful views which we enjoyed (until the mosquitos arrived, they get us at least once every year and we never learn until it's too late!) The kitchen facilities were spot on, all appliances in good working order. We've been to Lagos several times so it was no surprise to us that the area itself is quiet. Many thanks to John and Lyn for hosting us at your apartment.

Schöne Wohnung mit traumhaften Ausblick auf meinen Lieblingsstrand.

Die Wohnung ist über 2 Stockwerke. Sie ist schön eingerichtet und es ist alles da was man braucht. Vor allem in der Küche habe ich nichts vermisst. Es sind in allen Zimmern Klimageräte vorhanden. Der Ausblick ist traumhaft schön. Die Lage ist super. In ein paar Schritten ist man am Strand. Es ist auch mein Lieblingsstrand an der Algarve. Denise, die für den Besitzer alles vor Ort regelt war SUPERNETT und hilfsbereit. Der Besitzer selber hat mir eine Email danach geschrieben und sich für den Eintrag im Gästebuch bedankt. Sehr netter Kontakt. Da würden wir sehr gerne mal wiederkommen.

Location à Lagos Portugal

Très belle région. Bon équipement , appartement très agréable et grande proximité de la belle plage. La proximité avec la ville est très exagérée par l’annonce. Les points négatifs sont la literie; très vieille et très inconfortable avec des draps et des oreillers qui devraient être remplacés. Grande déception pour la piscine que nous n’avons pas été autorisés à utiliser.une télévision qui fonctionne très mal. Et pour couronner le tout une grande malhonnêteté car pas d’état des lieux en fin de séjour et vous vous retrouver à payer un vieux lit en très mauvais état et une télévision qui ne marche pas !!! Scandaleux !!

Schöne Wohnung mit tollem Meeresblick

Schöne Wohnung, 2 Etagen. Die obere sehr schön, die untere "normal". Kinderzimmer etwas auffrischungsbedürftig. Küche SEHR gut ausgestattet. 2 Sonnenschirme standen in der Wohnung zur Verfügung. Denise, die das ganze Check-in und check-out abgewickelt war war sehr hilfsbereit und sympatisch! Die Lage ist schön und der Blick kompensiert, was in der Wohnung nicht richtig hundertprozentig ist!

Wonderful apartment with beautiful sea view

Everything was just perfect. The communication with the owner and property manager was very friendly and especially the owner was reverting quickly in case of questions. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, offers beautiful views from the balcony / living room and is very tasteful decorated. Never had a kitchen which was equipped so well. The walk to the long and clean beach is quite short and can be easily done with small kids as well. We would recommend a rental car to explore rest of the Algarve and sunsets at the West coast! Thanks to John & Lyn for sharing this lovely place and we would love to return one day.

Exceeded Our Expectations

Stayed here in June 2019. Surprised how well appointed the property was on our arrival. Kitchen had way more than we expected and everything we needed was there and of good quality. Bathroom is well appointed; bath with shower, large basin, toilet and bidet. Bedrooms had lovely comfortable beds and both rooms have quiet air con and blackout shutters, so it's lovely and dark, plus very cool at night to help sleep. Living/Dining room is a nice size and very comfortable, again with quiet but very efficient air con. The balconies are a good size and the upstairs (living room) balcony has a canopy to keep out the direct sunlight but maintain the beautiful views of Meia Praia Beach. The villa is a level 15 minute walk into town, or the land train stop is at the bottom of the road and is very reasonable at 3.50€ for a hop on/off service. We love this area and normally stay in a nearby hotel, however, we are now converted and will staying here (in this villa) again. Communication with owner prior to, and during the visit was great with speedy replies, and we were allowed a late checkout, which helped as we had a late flight. Thanks John for allowing us to stay in your wonderful villa.

Very nice apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Especially enjoyed the balcony.

Everything was clean and comfortable and the balcony overlooking the water was a nice bonus. Walk to town was a bit lengthy, but not strenuous. We made it everyday and considered it good exercise. Bus readily available if needed. Owner and management were in touch when needed and always helpful.

Meia Praia Magic

We stayed here in early September for 8 nights and loved the apartment. It's a 5 minute walk to the main beach car park, which we have used on other holidays. The apartment is part of a small complex which has a nice swimming pool and some sun beds which unfortunately have seen better days. The owner assures me that this is not his responsibilty and that he will flag it up. Inside the apartment the kitchen and living area were on the top floor as you walk in and the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped and had a Dolce Gusto coffee maker which we used several times - the instructions are in the drawer in the hall. The cable tv was a bit of a disappointment as there was no BBC or ITV, which we have had in other properties we have used in the past. After a few days I realised that I could log into my Netflix account using channel 88 so we had something decent to watch before going to bed. There are two restaurants within easy walking distance, the Atlantico, which you see on your left as you enter the complex and the Gaivota Branca nestling in the sand dunes above the beach. We found the dining experience at the Atlantico a bit grim, the menu had a poor choice too. Much better was the GB, and the views/ambience were better too. My wife and I are in our 60's and didn't fancy the 20/25 minutes walk to Lagos in the evenings, so we found it was better to use our hire car, which curtailed any drinking I might have wanted to do. No big deal as I don't drink much. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was that on two occasions I had indicated that an early check in was desired and I even received confirmation that this had been arranged. However the managing agent said that the owner had failed to pass on this info, so we were a little bit inconvenienced on arrival. Overall however, it was a really nice relaxing experience.

Die perfekte Wohnung direkt am Strand!

Die Wohnung ist super gelegen gegenüber dem Strand (nur 3 min zu Fuß entfernt). Sie ist neu ausgestattet und sehr gemütlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Wir können die Wohnung nur weiter empfehlen! Die Vermieter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit und direkt zu erreichen. Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Start unserer Portugal Rundreise :-)

Unparalleled Views of Meia Praia

A comfortable and well equipped apartment with everything you need. Nicely proportioned, and furnished to create the perfect holiday setting. Great for a family of 4/5 . The upper terrace/balcony was the best part. Biggest enough to eat/drink comfortably whilst enjoying the sumptuous view across the bay. We are already planning our returning !

The perfect House, Hosts and Holiday

Myself and my partner stayed for a week in this beautiful apartment and couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday. The apartment itself has everything you need - dishwasher and washing machine included and the photos don't do it justice. The weather wasn't the best the Algarve has ever seen but it was the perfect place to chill out and read books on the balcony come cloud or sun. The view is amazing and you're literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. We walked into town or the marina every night and back again and even the days we were feeling lazy a taxi is only €4/€5. The owners are absolutely lovely and were on hand for every question we fired at them. The management team who meet you there are equally helpful and willing and were on hand throughout the stay (not that we had any issues at all). I honestly can't think of anything else you could want or need from an apartment stay in Lagos - it's a true home from home.

Perfect

The villa was just perfect for us. 2 adults and 2 boys aged 13 & 8. It had everything we needed. Beach within walking distance. WiFi for the 13 year old!! English TV for 8 year old!! Fridge with cold wine and balcony with amazing views for us when all wanted to be out of the sun. We would go to the beach and on the way back stop at the pool for a hour. The pool was OK but we never spent the whole day there. The sun beds could do with upgrading. This wasn't a problem for us. We spent a couple of days around the pool at the hotel 2 buildings down called Gran vila. The pool was excellent. Just walk in. The pictures don't do the villa justice. It's much better. John was a pleasure to deal with before travelling. Thank you John for sharing you villa.

Ideally situated for young families. Close to pool and beach. Very nice high end kitchen and comfortable family room with view of ocean. The bedrooms are functional and basic. The owner and management are accommodating and easy to work with.

Gut ausgestattete Wohnung in günstiger Lage

In der geräumigen Wohnung nahe am Strand läßt es sich gut leben. Wir fanden sie sauber und gut ausgestattet. Das Leben auf zwei Etagen war für uns etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die SEHR lautstarken Renovierungsarbeiten in derdarüber liegenden Wohnung ließen sich leider nicht stoppen und stellten eine (hoffentlich nicht wiederkehrende) Beeinträchtigung dar. Ein Problem war die fehlende Heizung. Zwei kleine 700 Watt-Radiatoren schafften es nicht, die Räume bei nächtlichen Temperaturen um 10 Grad hinreichend zu erwärmen. Wir vermissten Ablagemöglichkeiten im Bad und Garderobenhaken im oberen Flur nahe der Haustür für Jacken etc.

It feels like home, with a perfect view on the sea!

The appartment has everything it needs, it is large and all the house supplies are there. The two terraces are very nice and the neighbourhood is quiet, you have everything you need in 15 minutes walking.
