"Our stay here was brief but I was happy to see that they were willing to serve dinner not long before closing. (There aren’t a lot of dining choices nearby.) It is an older property but everything functioned and was clean. Boot tray in the closet for wet boots was a good feature, although we lucked out with the weather. We also appreciated the bottled water. We enjoyed the cook-to-order breakfast and overall friendliness of the property. The view of the bridge and stream was outstanding. "

"Wonderful solo stay at YHA Buttermere. Perfect location just a stones throw from the main hotel and cafe which is nice. Friendly staff and guests, good facilities. Wifi poor but why do you need it when staying here! Will definitely come back"

"Booked just one night as a last minute getaway. Stayed in the Penthouse which has a large blacony with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom great. The beams are low at the edges of the room but we are both tall and managed to avoid them :) I would highly recommend this place and will be staying here again in the future."

"I stayed in found floor room. Looked tired and is need of decorating. Shower was adequate-plenty of hot water but not very powerful. Windows needed cleaning. Room on whole was clean although stain on duvet cover. Bed comfy. Not staff at hotel so you had to phone through to another hotel for assistance. No food available and a list of take away places for breakfast. "

"Room a bit tired but doesn't detract from the enoyment of the stay. Room and bathroom spacious and the bed was comfortable, perfect for after hiking up Scafell Pike. Good, hearty food and friendly staff. Perfect for what we needed."

"Set in a beautiful village this accomodation stands out withbits exterior decor. Parking is a short walk away and not onsite but this isnt gar and not a problem. We were greeted by a wonderful ladybwhonwas full of smiles, verybfriendly and appeared tonreally enjoy her job. She showed us to our room and left us to unpack. The room was big enougb fornthe 2 of us and had a good sized ensuite shower room. The rooms facilities were excellent. Smart tv, wifif and smart heating as well as a kettle...

"What a lovely hotel! Situated close to the beautiful town of Grasmere, and on the edge of the lake which was so picturesque you could sit and watch the view for hours - we did this whilst sipping a drink on the outside seating area. The spa was a perfect way to relax after a day of walking. We got the bus to walk the Fairfield Horseshoe but there are so many other walks to choose from (the bus stops are a fee meters away in either durection). "Superb location on sea front with plenty of parking behind hotel via very narrow alley. Stayed in Room 3 - stunning view over the beach / bay - comfortable 4 poster bed - plenty of power points - heating controlled via App - excelent wi-fi - limited choice of tv channels.
