Bell Street Lodging-Retreat

In the heart of downtown Madeline Island is the newly acquired Bell Street Lodging. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and beaches. This is an ideal place to relax and take in the views. Your rental unit is located on the second floor and has its own private deck to enjoy morning coffee a cocktail or just to soak in the scenery. There is additional common space that can be enjoyed as well. This includes a massive deck with plenty of seating and tables to enjoy additional views or company if you so chose. We have created a bbq and beer garden as well. Use one of the grills and courtyard area for wonderful meal outside.

The lodging includes four bedrooms allowing for up to 10 guests. Please note that the max guests allowed is 10. If you exceed the max amount we may ask you to leave the property and no refund will be provided.

Three of the bedrooms have Queen Beds. Two of the queen bedrooms have access to their own deck. One bedroom has a set of bunk beds. The bunk beds are adult sized with 8" thick mattresses.

The Bell Street Lodging was constructed with concrete forms. The concrete forms offer a quiet sanctuary within your space. Or step outside and walk a 100 yards to Tom's Burned Down Cafe. Tom's is an island music oasis. Not to mention spectacular for people watching. Enjoy a short walk to the Beach Club for a sunset view and refreshment. Your family could enjoy Grampa Tony's also within 100 yards of your stay.

If you enjoy the convenience of staying close to the action this is the accommodation for you. One flight of stairs, unpack and park your car for the rest of your stay if you chose.


The Bell Street is no longer being advertised and operated as a bar/restaurant/event center. There may be a rare occasion that an event happens (more to help the community). Please check our website calendar at https://www.bellstreettavernmi.com. Click on the calendar tab and see if anything is posted. There are a total of 4 units as a part of this building and there may some noise from your neighbors (similar to an apartment). We just want you to be aware this is not a single family rental unit.

Please be mindful of the Ferry schedule. We can not offer a refund if you can't make the last boat. Please check their website for any travel advisories before traveling. Also, if you are booking very close to your arrival date please pay attention to our strict cancellation policy.

Note: Check in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. Please note due to the very high lodging demand we cannot offer early check in or late check out.

Convenient location and large

Was staying there with my senior citizen mother, brother & his wife & daughters (teen girls), sister, myself & 2 children (8/12). We maxed out capacity but all had plenty of room, never felt cramped. It was walkable from the ferry and had plenty of parking behind it, the view from the deck by the entrance was fantastic.

The property was clean and spacious. The kitchen has everything you need. The bedrooms were nice with clean sheets and the they were comfy. We enjoyed the balconies off two of the bedrooms as well. This was the only unit I found on VRBO with a second bathroom. Both bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels. We would not hesitate to rent this unit again. Madeline Island is beautiful. Thank you

Review

The property manager was very responsive when there was an issue. He kept us updated and worked until the issue was fully resolved. The place is in a wonderful location. It was kid friendly and for the most part very clean. One suggestion would be to clean the oven and stove top. I like to cook for the family and for the most part they had all the pans etc needed. I would return.

Such an amazing property

We have been coming to the island for 20+ years and have stayed at various places throughout. The Bell Street Lodging Retreat was the prefect location and place for my family and friends to take in a lot of what the island has to offer. We walked everywhere and never even got in our car this trip! We will stay here again in the future.

Great Location!

Comfortable, spacious stay for either families or a group of friends. The location is the best! You’re in the heart of La Pointe close to everything with enough space to be comfortable for a big group. The host did a great job communicating with us. We will be back!

Great island location

Perfect location for 2 families with tweens and teens who want accessibility to stores and restaurants. Same for the adults! Loved getting to know the shop owners and islanders. Super quick drive to Big Bay State Park and city park for the beautiful hikes, ledgerock climbs and vistas. We will be back!

Convenient Clean Stay

Great Location in Town

This property was perfect for our girls weekend providing convenient walking distance to all of the area shops and restaurants. Explored the island, went to the beach, and had a very relaxing time. I cannot express enough how easy the check in process was and location was primo.

Perfect location for families

This property was perfect for our needs. The apartment is spacious, clean, and quiet and accommodated our large family perfectly. We enjoyed the covered porch as we were able to sit outside and play games while a thunderstorm rolled through one of the nights of our stay. We had an issue with the lock on our door during our stay. We called Dave, the owner of the property, and he immediately had the issue resolved for us. Dave was attentive, responsive, and helpful. We met him later during our stay, and he was incredibly friendly and kind. Loved this property and we will definitely consider this location for future trips to Madeline Island.
