It is just off the N1, and hence convenient for a mostly-N-road trip home (R roads can have terrible potholes). "We arrived in a heatwave and were very happy to find an air conditioner in the main bedroom but the second room had only a ceiling fan. The rooms were clean and well furnished with a fridge, kettle, makings of coffee. Plenty of water and ample hot water for the three of us. In future, I would choose to eat in Colesberg, about 5 Kilometers away. Safe parking was provided and our bicycle stayed on the car."

"I arrived at Ilanga Estate at about 4pm after driving over 650 kms from Durban . I was turned away at the gate and told the hotel is closed . I insisted on going in and going to the bathroom , the security lady wasn’t too happy about that , the entire place was empty , doors locked , nor one car or a single other person. It was traumatic.
