Vijaydurg, a sea port about 4 hours drive from Goa, is our personal weekend getaway destination. Its owner, Dan, our gregarious friend and fisherman-at-heart, would like to sustain his fishing villa, and invites nature loving souls.
For fishing enthusiasts, the place is well stocked with various fishing equipment from lures, to rods and reels. Our very talented friend and keen angler, will take you out into the sea and show you the waters. For each fishing trip you pay an additional amount of INR 3500/-. You can have the catch of the day, later on, on the grill!
If, like us, you would rather sit in and play table tennis, and just lounge about with Frank Sinatra and a good book, you are most welcome to do so.
The villa has 3 private bedrooms and can accommodate 2 people on single beds. Each bedroom has an attached bath. The entire villa can be rented as a single unit which means in total you can be a group of maximum of 6 people.
The kitchen has at any time atleast 2 househelp on the premises. They will take care of cooking, cleaning, and regular chores about the house.
The villa per se is in a remote village of Vijaydurg and all shopping, stocking and cooking will be done locally. The kitchen would not be able to dish out your favourite pasta in white sauce or pepper fry chicken, but they do pack a mean local meal.
Vijaydurg is a small village in the district of Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, along the west coast of India, about 200 kms North of Goa. Within 20 mints drive from home, we have swam in pristine beach waters, picking wild berries along the drive there.
The village is very quaint and subdued. The local bars are a lovely hangout and we enjoy a good bread/vegetable or a rice/curry at the restaurant round the corner. The 17th century Maratha fort is a walk of pride for all us Indians, of the legend of our forefathers. It would be advisable to venture here a little after your afternoon nap, when the sun is a little more sympathetic.
To get to the villa, you can hire a car from Goa. The drive should take you about 4 hours towards the North into Maharastra.
Staying in a remote village, amenities are at the very basic. It would be wise to carry your own toiletries, medication, etc..General toiletries, linen, medication, alcohol, knick knacks, fruits etc are stocked in the villa. If you have any specifics that you would like us to stock, or if you have any specific food preference, please inform us at the time of booking.
The entire house rented as a single unit. Please go ahead and book our home and we would be happy to see you around these parts.
If you would like to have a look at our other 5 restored homes, visit our Airbnb profile https://www.airbnb.co.in/users/2263634/listings. Each home is unique and has its own old-world charm. Tell us what experience you want to have in Goa, and we might just be able to match it with a perfect home...
