No Service Hotel

Hotel seems to be too old. However, you can still enjoy the atmosphere as well as the nice large swimming pool. If you're likely to have a good service don't go there because there is no service at all. Even from start, no welcome, no smile, no restaurant service nothing. Just a ghost hotel as we feel. Staff must be letting down the hotel. Probably, the lack of training.

Run down charter hotel

A run down charter hotel. Dirty room, leaking toilet and lots of bugs in the room. Cockroaches in the dining area and lots of flies in and around the cheap buffet. The beach is calm with a lovely sunset, but it’s dirty.

Great quiet place

I think it's 3 star hotel. Less crowded. Pool is clean but over chlorinated. Rooms are clean. Breakfast buffet did not have much varieties but food was tasty. Dinner we ordered room service alacarte. Big portions and tasty. Book sea view rooms. Those got a nice view. Calm and quiet place.

A decent hotel....

For the price, this hotel is ok. To start with, the front office guy told us clearly not to leave any valuables in the room. That's because there is no safe in the room. The room is basic but clean. Do not expect any frills. Got a mini fridge, a kettle and tea coffee. The washroom was clean, but superficial. Towels seemed clean till we turned them over. They were definitely laundered but stained. The staff were very hospitable and that made up for a lot. Breakfast was substantial but in that stretch you can get better. Overall, if you're on a strict budget, the place is fine. If you are flexible there are better places.

The worst hotel in which I had to rest.

1. The room had roaches. 2. Bathroom survived a nuclear war, all stains, rust, dirt. 3. In the room there was no TV, although reservations have been written that he should be our question constantly told that tomorrow will bring, but never brought. 4. Lunch consisted of two dishes, rice and chicken. 5. Local people are arrogant, constantly trying to cheat you, wherever you go, they always roll back 20-50% of the money. 6. I saw how they were fighting for the tourists, it is not correct for Buddhists, they are always drunk. 7. Worst country in which I visited, I have been in over 30 countries and had more 100 visits. 8. I do not recommend this country, and the more I never go there.

Recommend against this group of hotels

First, a bit of context. I've never gotten around to writing reviews though I've long intended to. These are very helpful to travelers like myself so I regret having waited so long. I've been to Sri Lanka before. The country is wonderful and its people are the best. This is in no way meant to reflect on Sri Lanka. I've really enjoyed my experiences here and I can't wait to go back. The Long Beach Resort is one of 3 or 4 Koggala properties run by the same management. I've now stayed at 2 of these properties and they are both decidedly substandard. Each of these is a star less than listing. The rooms and their facilities are quite old, often grimy or dingy. There are few sad toiletries. Housekeeping is abysmal to the point where even after specifying requirements, sheets will not be cleaned, glasses replaced or water provided etc. If you need to work while traveling like I do, you're out of luck with their wifi, which has little bandwidth. Food is only available at this one hotel for any time between 9:30PM and 7:30AM. So if you are checking in late, or up and about otherwise, you may well be stuck without decent food or much water. What really threw me over the edge was the fact that a waiter and his manager had a tantrum about refilling our water bottles at this "resort." We wanted not to waste plastic or money. There are no water filters and one may not ask to be refilled, it seems. We felt completely hustled. You will get much better quality for your money elsewhere.

Unfortuanly, the bathroom was not really clean. We came in and saw an dead crab in the shower! The bed was to soft for me. The pool is very nice and big enough for a swim.

Trivsam vistelse

Vår vistelse var under försäsong med relativt få gäster. Buffén hade ett stort utbud med lappar med information kring alla rätter. Särskilt goda var de rätter kockarna tillredde utomhus på balkongen medan man väntade. Hotellet är äldre och lite slitet, men rent. Personalen hjälper gärna till med det som behövs och förstår och talar mycket god engelska. Vyn från rum med havsutsikt är enastående. Vi trivdes väldigt väl under vår vistelse!

Wonderful Experience !

It was a pleasant weekend at Club Koggala Village which was right in front of Koggala beach ! We got two sea side rooms which were well maintained and with a magnificent view of the ocean.....Swimming pool was ok ..clean But bit crowded in the evening ...Morning Buffet was ok But its better if they can add few more desserts rather than having limited amount of tropical fruits ! Beach in front of the hotel was "very clean" and less crowded even it was a weekend specially comparing to other beaches in southern cost such as such as Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna ......So I would recommend this hotel or any other hotel in Koggala as simply because of the above fact !

Endroit sympa , les chambre jolie équiper de moustiquaires, mais comme il y a des gros troue dans les murs des chambres les moustiques sont constamment la , les moustiquaire trouer . La salle de massage tres sal et envahie de moustique, bref les prestations en générale tres cher pour la qualitée, sinon les petits déjà et le restaurant tres bien

Russian Isolation

A sprawling affair with large rooms and balconies, it's dark and run down. Guard at the gate refused to allow my tuk tuk driver driver to come onto the grounds to unload but once inside reception was welcoming and helpful. I opted for breakfast and dinner which was bountiful but mediocre. At the time I was there it was 90% Russian occupation. Huge pool and the beach expansive but very rough.

Watching the sunset from the back porch of your ro

For the price the location and room was great. It was the busy season (New Years) so the service was good but not perfect. The room is on the beach and you have your own "private" area as well as lounge chairs. Because of the location you can watch the sunset every night. The pool is large (you can even swim laps and feel like you get a workout). The fitness room is horrible so best to just run on the beach. There is a restaurant on site and they have a buffet for breakfast and dinner or you can order ala carte. Great place.

Отель средний. Скорее хороший, чем плохой. На четверочку с минусом по пятибалльной шкале. Рядом есть пара отелей посовременнее, но и подороже. А так все необходимое есть, номера не тесные, кровати широкие, мягкие и не скрипят, белье чистое. Расположен прямо на берегу океана. Для отдыха класса "эконом" самое то. Завтраки и ужины, правда, слишком однообразные. Но при шведском столе и невысокой цене это обычное дело. В целом мы довольны.
