Turtle Shack is located close to the beach in the charming oceanside community Sea Tern, just north of Duck Village. Bring your family along with your furry friend for some quality time. Relax, make memories, and enjoy the beach in the perfect setting.

The home is very spacious inside and offers good ocean views from top deck and large great room. Nicely furnished and very well equipped kitchen. The dining area seats 8, and the kitchen has 5 bar stools. The covered porch outside provides a dining table for 4. Lounge by your own private pool or take a quick walk to the beach, just 100 yards away.

Sea Tern has private beach and sound access and is conveniently located close to Downtown Duck and the Duck Town Park. Park amenities include a soundside boardwalk, amphitheater, public kayak/canoe launch, picnic shelter, playground, gazebo, walking trails and summer events. A seven-mile long multi-use path is located on the east side of Duck Road and provides a scenic and safe recreational venue for visitors to enjoy. Pedestrians, bicyclists and in-line skaters share the Duck Trail.

Què hi ha als voltants

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Quick beach stay

Nice property with good amenities. Very clean and laid back. Appeared recently updated, 1 min walk to beach. Note, this portion of outer banks has experienced severe beach erosion. Hopefully dune restoration is planned.

Cleanliness was a major issue

We ended up booking this house Thursday-Sunday. That really only gives you Friday and Saturday because of check in/out. If I was staying any longer than that, I would have complained on the spot about the cleanliness of the house. Every surface is covered in dust, grime, or hair. You're probably thinking that it's because this is a dog friendly house, but I'm not talking about dog hair. In the age of COVID, and being that I'm pregnant, this really bothered me. Not only that, but there was still some urine on the toilet seat from the last guest. I would maybe expect this from using VRBO to rent from an owner, but through a real estate agency I'm pretty shocked. Especially for the money paid for the house. I had to go in and clean up for the first hour or so that we arrived and then resist cleaning the whole house. It just made it very hard to relax. Other than that, the sliding glass door to master bedroom 1 doesn't latch, so sleeping at night with no sense of security was a bit of a bummer too. I've been going to OBX since I was five years old and this was my first experience like this. Love OBX, but won't be returning back to this house.
