Just steps away from the beach access, enjoy the sound of the ocean and salt-kissed breezes at Starfish Cottage!. Relax in the hammock with a book and your daydreams, or on the wraparound deck at this classic Carolina beach cottage in Duck.

Feel right at home in this affordable, family-friendly, comfortable retreat, featuring 4 cozy bedrooms, 2 full baths, a full kitchen, children’s swings, a grilling area, an enclosed outdoor shower, and more. All TVs at Starfish Cottage are Roku.

Only a quick (300ft) walk to the lifeguarded beach access, Starfish Cottage offers a wagon to help haul your beach gear. Enjoy a nearby-by 6-mile jogging and bike trail, as well as two water sport centers a half-a-mile away, where you can rent a kayak, sailboat or paddle board, jet ski or pontoon and cruise the Currituck Sound. For a more relaxed pace enjoy the boardwalk and trail meandering around Duck and take in the lush maritime forest setting. The charming town of Duck offers shopping, nightlife, superior dining, a boardwalk and Town Park with morning yoga and exercise classes, many children's activities, movies, free concerts, and more.

A sampling of what vacationers at Starfish Cottage have said in their own words: wonderful, large outdoor shower; peaceful decks on two levels; a wonderful home that is comfortable for adults and kids alike; a treasure so close to the sea; evening walks to the sound; dolphin watching; surf fishing, sand bars and warm sea water; tuna on the grill; naps in the hammocks.

Què hi ha als voltants

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
