Elora Gingersnap rental

The Gingerbread House would like you to say hello to its little friend. Welcome to the Gingersnap. It`s a one bedroom apartment with zero stairs your own entrance and a 60 second walk to the Mills wedding venues.
Upon entering the room you will find yourself in a retro modern oasis. With a king sized bed, inground heat in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Also you will have a retro kitchenette which is somewhat groovy.
The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and all the amenities you need.

Probably the most important things you will see happens when you step outside. You will be seeing the Elora Mill and all its venues, with a one minute walk you could be in their wedding chapel. After the wedding you step outside and take the new walking bridge crossing the Grand River to the venues holding all the celebrations for the evening.
If you are not here for a wedding, no problem. Crossing that bridge sets you on Mill St. and all that Elora has to offer.

The entire outside property is yours to access, Walk around the building and you will see deck with a BBQ. for you to use, or relax at one of the bistro tables by the Vedge Café

Room was cute and had most items a "regular" hotel room would have. Great location for where we were going as well; right by the Grand River. Unfortunately it was -20 that day and the room was not appropriately heated for our arrival. Washroom was 14 and main room was 16, and it took 4+ hours to get the heat up using the gas fireplace. We changed our plans so we were out of the room as it was just too cold. Response from our contact re: heat wasn't great either.

We had booked the room for three nights. We left after the second night because my wife and I felt uncomfortable because of the cleanliness and smell. We were refused a refund for the last night.When we arrived it was raining and the front door has no eaves trough so the water from the roof is pouring in front of the door. It is impossible to not get soaked. The room got water on the floor so we cleaned up the water with a towel and quickly realized the floor was very dirty as evident by the dirt on the towel. Other problems with cleanliness include a dirty bathroom floor, dust on the furniture and the waste basket not emptied and overflowing from the previous guest. The bed was not made well and because of the other problems, we question if the sheets were changed. The whole place could use a good cleaning. My wife felt "icy" there because of the cleanliness.We noticed that around 6PM both nights that there is a strong sewer smell. It is hard to tell but it didn't seem to be coming from the drains in the room? For whatever reason it was gone around 10PM. It was quite bad the second last night and very strong.The bed was comfortable, the shower nice and big, lots of hot water, the location is perfect if you want to walk around Elora, parking was good...I don't like to write a bad review but I think it is important to be honest with our experience. It's hard to give a good review if you leave a day early, especially when you paid for it.
