Head into Ravenstonedale (1.5 miles) to discover the ruins of St Oswald’s Church or browse the beautiful artworks at the Scar Galley. Alternatively, tee-off on a round of golf to remember at the Riverside Golf Course (1.5 miles). History buffs should make a beeline for ruins of Lammerside Castle to explore its 14th-century Pele tower, which was built to provide protection against Scottish raiders. Alternatively, pull on your hiking boots, walk from the door, and climb Wild Boar Fell, or Green Bell, part of the Howgill Fells. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with views over the Lakeland fells and Yorkshire’s Three Peaks.


This beautiful reverse-level cottage is set over two floors and one cosy mezzanine. On the ground floor you’ll find two beautiful bedrooms – one super-king-size and one twin. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds that can be reconfigured on request, and both boast full en-suites with whirlpool baths. Upstairs you’ll find a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where the vaulted ceilings and a slate fireplace are the stars of the show. This beautiful space showcases furnishings from the local area that blend seamlessly with the exposed stone walls and ceiling beams to create a local luxury feel. Cook up a storm in the chic kitchen area and host dinner at the bespoke dining table. Afterwards, relax by the wood burner, or slip away to the mezzanine with a good book.
