Blinkbonnie Cottage, a place of tranquillity & beauty in a country setting.

Blinkbonnie Cottage is set in beautiful forest covered countryside on the Glen Ogle and Leskin Estate, within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The cottage faces directly south, so the garden is a sun trap which overlooks a small lochan and is a haven for wildlife, with woodlands & hills beyond.
Blinkbonnie has had a major upgrade within the last three years & we will continue to make improvements to provide comfortable & enjoyable accommadation and facilities for our guests.
The accommodation comprises of a good sized living/dining room, including a wood burner if the weather turns cold. There are french doors opening out to the rear garden and lead to a lochan with forests beyond. The internal hall leads to the newly fitted shower room and the two bedrooms, one including a king sized bed & the other with twin beds. A new kitcken was installed last year with all new utilities provided.
The panoramic views from the bedrooms take in the local forests and hills.
Whilst the cottage is in a rural setting, it is only a five minute drive to the village of Killin which is home to the famous Falls of Dochart, at the western end of Loch Tay. The village has various eating places; gift shops and a very well stocked modern COOP for all your needs.
The village of Lochearnhead, a 10 minute drive away where all forms of water sports and fishing are available. We have two golf courses within 20 minutes and many more a little further away. It is also is an ideal base for walkers & cyclists with many cycle routes and footpaths locally to try and explore.
If you are looking for a cosy country cottage holiday to explore a beautiful area of Scotland, then Blinkbonnie Cottage is waiting for you.

Lovely property in a beautiful location. Ideally positioned for visiting many interesting places or maybe just stay and relax in garden admiring the wildlife that comes and goes. On our arrival we even had deer across the Lochan! The cottage had everything that you would need and the beds are very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and our stay was very enjoyable - we’re even thinking about going back later in the year!

Myself and my nephew had a lovely stay. The cottage and garden are perfect for relaxing in a tranquil setting. We enjoyed sitting out in the garden for morning coffee, dinner and watching the wildlife including a family of deer. The cottage is in a great location just a few miles from the village of Killin where there is a Co-op for all your supplies, outdoor shop with bike and kayak hire and places to eat. We enjoyed dinner at the Killin Hotel after a day out walking on Ben Lawers and great coffee and cake in the wee coffee shop in the middle of the village. We hired kayaks for a couple of hours out on the river and loch - a great activity on a calm day. There are also plenty of lower level walks in the area and access to the national cycle route. (These are useful running routes as well.) So there are plenty of outdoor activities for all abilities. We didn't need to travel far from the cottage to have plenty of adventures. We visited Loch Lubnaig on our way home for a swim which was a refreshing end to a delightful few days away. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped, all newly modernised. We are looking forward to our next visit!

What a beautiful property! My husband, myself & our two young children had a wonderful holiday at this cottage recently. The house was spotless & was in a great location for family days out. We also received a lovely welcome pack on arrival, which was an extremely thoughtful gesture. We'll definitely be booking again.

Prima verblijf

Een prima verblijf voor 3 of 4 gasten.Goeie locatie om zowel de omgeving van Loch Lomond als Glencoe te ontdekken.Eigen auto wel noodzakelijk.Huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien en ligt heerlijk rustig.Een klein puntje van kritiek: het zou iets schoner mogen.Voor de rest alleen maar aan te bevelen!

Ruhig, einsam und modern

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in ruhiger Umgebung. Das Ferienhaus liegt an einem See zu dem es keinen Zugang hat. Enten und andere Vögel sind zu beobachten.Drei Hirschkühe sind an einem Abend in Sichtweite zum Grasen gekommen.

Der Aufenthalt war von der Umgebung sehr schön aber der Kontakt mit dem Besitzer sehr mühsam bis sogar schlecht. Keine rechtzeitigen Antworten auf Fragen im Mail, keine Angaben von Telefon (musste erst im Haus sein) - falsche Passwortangaben etc - aber die wunderschöne Natur hat uns dann entschädigt.

Beautiful place to stay

Highly recommended beautiful cottage. Photos of property do not do it justice! Cottage tastefully decorated, in a beautiful location and was bigger than expected. Great central location to visit many different places. A big thank you to Neill and Paula who replied quickly and was very accomodating, especially with checking in a day early and getting a plumber in very quickly for a fault that occured during stay.

Cozy little cottage

Blinkbonnie cottage has been the perfect little base of operations for our day trips into various parts of Scotland. The location is peaceful and out of the way but central enough to get to pretty much anywhere in the highlands in an hour or two by car. On top of that, our hosts were beyond helpful with answering questions and requests even before we arrived at this great little gem of a place.

Great base in Wester Lix

My wife, myself and our 2 year old son had a lovely stay at Blinkbonnie cottage during autumn. The cottage is a great base for exploring the north east corner of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park and around Killin / Loch Tay. The cottage has lovely views out over a small pond and to the woods and hills beyond. The kitchen has everything you need and the whole cottage is clean and modern. The cottage retains heat well and has a log burner for the colder nights. There’s plenty to do in the locality for a weeks’ stay without having to driving huge distances. Seeing the Falls of Dochart in speight was a highlight for us. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful stay at this well equipped house. Great location for hill walking, wildlife watching and exploring the area. Lovely to receive a welcome pack and we enjoyed the log fire.

Traumhaftes Cottage in wunderschöner Umgebung

Wir haben wunderschöne Tage in diesem Cottage verbracht. Den schönen Garten konnten wir wetterbedingt zwar nicht nutzen, dafür aber Rehe und zahlreiche Vögel beobachten. Das Cottage bietet genug Platz, ist ausgesprochen liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht. Wir können einen Urlaub hier nur empfehlen und hoffen bald einmal wieder kommen zu können!

Quiet secluded cottage

The cottage was clean and comfortable. The setting is very lovely, Killin is a quaint little Scottish village, yet a bit more remote than we expected. Having a car is not an option, it's a definate requirement for this location. The host always responded to our inquires in a timely manner.
